The crew was to arrive between 8:30/9a, today. However, around 9:15a, Lisa (owner's wife) called stating Pete (owner) needed to pick up materials and would arrive by 10a. They did not, so at 10:45, I called her back. She apologized again, and stated Pete would be there in 15 mins. I asked her/Pete to call if there would be any more delays, etc; they did not. After 11:30a, Pete arrived. His overall demeanor was very rude. He asked my name as he walked up the driveway, and then asked where the job was supposed to be done. He kept looking at the paperwork and our house, but gave me absolutely no regard whatsoever... no eye contact, introduction/handshake, or apologies for running 3 hrs late. I even had to ask him his name (someone else handled the estimate). As we walked to the house, I mentioned that we had been expecting him since 10am. (8:30 was the original set time). Pete looked at his paperwork and said, and quot;You know what, we're just not going to do this job. We'll send your check back to youand quot;, and he started walking back to his truck. I did mention that we got his name off Angies List, but he did not seem to care (I believe he said and quot;whateverand quot;). I then called the wife to request the refund. The apology was weak, stating she'll send the check back and she didn't know what his problem was today... something about him having some issues.
