The inspection went as scheduled. He was on time and even gave me a credit because my crawl space was easier to inspect than he originally thought. I would recommend this company to anyone needing a home inspection.

You knew he was there by the name on the company vehicle in the driveway. He was early to the appointment and on the roof when we got there. After the roofs & gutters, the outside of the brick house, garage, laundry room, and the inside of the house. He checked all the electric outlets, exhaust vents for heating, stove etc, There was no basement, but a crawl space - he went under the house and checked everything in the crawl space. Al was excellent, professional and knowledgeable about what he was inspecting. Very precise and systematic.

Everdry Waterproofing Wisconsin

Everdry solved our wet crawl space problem. The work was done approximately 8 years ago and we have not had water in our crawl space since the work was done. What a relief to no longer have to worry about this problem. The project was expensive, but was worth the money. We no longer have to worry about mold and musty odors plus drying out the crawl space. Job well done!!

It has been ten years since Everdry worked on our crawl space which flooded once or twice per year. It has remained dry!! We have not had any water in the crawl space since work was done in 2009. Excellent company to work with.

I called to schedule an appointment to have them view the basement and provide me with options to address the current situation. Unfortunately they refused to schedule the appointment without my both my wife and I being present. I informed them my wife was not interested and I will be determining what action will taken therefore they declined to setup the appointment. I do not have an issue with then requesting both of us be present but I was surprised that they would turn away a customer who would not conform to their policy. I have not worked with Everdry before but this appeared to be a pressure tactic.

When you hire a home inspector, you expect him/her to do a thorough, top-to-bottom job; Walt Schneider didn't even come close to doing that. Either he chose to ignore these blatantly clear, devastating structural defects because he was working for the realtor; or, he was supremely incompetent as a home inspector. I'm going with both theories. He missed: -- Leaking sewage pipes -- The presence of galvanized pipes and the leaks -- Leaking roof and water damage in attic -- Moldy insulation and walls -- Leaking gutters The man, for whatever reason, maybe old age, wouldn't get on the roof or spend time in the crawl space. He said the roof had years left. The roof leaked the first night it rained. The radon test he installed...he installed it in the highest point of the room. Why? To pass home inspection so the realtor can close the sell. Do you know what he did during the inspection? He checked the light switches, microwave, oven, and washer and dryer. Walt is a menace to home inspection.

Aaron was early and had already begun evaluating the exterior of the house, once I arrived he went over his immediate findings then climbed on the roof. After that he went thru the interior starting in the kitchen. He pointed out issues ranging from the legal code for a microwave installation height to GFI requirements, etc. Following the kitchen he evaluated the living room, dining room, checking each outlet with a meter, opening and closing the windows, etc. Upstairs, he went thru each room looking for water damage, functioning doors, outlets, windows, every thing in each room. Bathrooms were checked for water leaks, drain speed/ leaks, toilet properly bolted, etc.

Doug was very prompt, actually a little early. He was very thorough with the inspection of our new home and always made sure to explain everything to me as I walked through the inspection with him. He was also very willing to answer any of my questions during the inspection process. At the conclusion of the inspection he wrote up the results and presented me with a bound copy of the inspection report. The report contains all the details of all the issues he found during the inspection. He also provides a summary of all the issues at the beginning of the report as a quick reference with reference numbers corresponding to the details of each of the issues. He also categorized each of the issues into one of 3 categories. The first category is items that are a safety concern (items that need to be addressed immediately). The second category is items that are not an immediate safety concern, but are things that would need to be addressed in the near future if not immediately. The third category was a list of "honey-do" items. Because our home contained a crawl-space Doug suggested that we have a radon test conducted in addition to his regular inspection. I think that recommendation was also made based on the fact that radon levels in the area of our home quiet often run high. Upon Doug's recommendation and personal investigation of radon levels in our area, we decided to have Doug perform a radon test too. His test revealed that the home does have a radon level that is slightly higher than the EPA's acceptable range. We are currently seeking a way to reduce the radon level and get it into the EPA's acceptable range. If Doug had not made that suggestion I may have overlooked the radon issue entirely and put the lives of my family at risk. He also took pictures of the items that needed to be addressed and sent them to me via email.

Dry Otter Basement Waterproofing LLC

Nick at Dry Otter was great to work with, as well as the entire crew. He provided a VERY reasonable quote for the work done and was prompt about returning my calls and answering questions. Their quote came in thousands of dollars less than others we had received! They arrived by 7:30 in the morning and were done by 1:30pm, having completed the work and cleaned up in the basement. They were very careful about making sure they didn't make a mess in other areas of the house. The 5 workers that fixed the basement were all very friendly. It went even better than I had hoped. I would recommend Dry Otter to anyone who needed basement work!! Thanks!!

Recent Review: 1st Choice Inspection is truly THE BEST CHOICE for homeowners: I learned so much from them just by tagging along for the nearly three-hour meeting that occurred less than 24 hours ago!!! They meticulously examined everything, top to bottom, outside to inside, visible to invisible, known to unknown (to me, at least: THEY KNOW EVERYTHING that needs to be checked out!!!). Just as important, however, is their explanation of everything they were doing (about two-thirds of which I already had some clue about, having owned my current home for more than a decade, yet the final one-third which I never would've guessed), as well as the potential near- and far-future impact of everything they were discovering. Similarly, they had PROMPT AND INFORMATIVE RESPONSES, IN REAL TIME, to all of my nit-picky questions about this-and-that, which I greatly appreciated!!! (I'm a naturally curious person who loves learning anything I can in whatever situation I happen to be in at the moment.) Indeed, they helped me decide what needs to be addressed before I move in and what can be held off on for 1/5/10 years (which's my own plan that's served me oh-so well in the past). Perhaps the best, though, was their including my school-aged son in the process, allowing him to feel important by having him check to see whether a couple of electrical outlets in each room were in working order, along with finding the dimmer and/or light switches in each-and-every room. And they even laughed at my jokes, which I found most affirming and quite charming!!! Lastly, their price structure is EVER-SO-AFFORDABLE!!! I paid about the same for their services as I do for a year's worth of a basic Disney+ bundle. (And you-all know how inexpensive that is!) I've already decided to have them do an inspection of my current home, prior to putting it on the market, so I know what I should "fix up" before the open house and what I really don't need to worry about. 1st Choice Inspection truly is THE BEST CHOICE I could've ever made for my soon-to-be sanctuary!!! If you, too, want to feel secure in your new-home purchase, you'll want to have them on your team. (Written on 27 June 2021 -- Homeowner in Racine, WI -- Willing to pay for the best THE FIRST TIME so things only need to be done once!!!)

Recent Review: My son is buying his first house and his realtor recommended Tier1 home inspections. With so many companies to choose from, how do you know you are making the right decision? Well, I guess we lucked out with Tier1. Jason spent half the day at my son's prospective house. He looked at absolutely everything. He was extremely thorough, professional and honest with his recommendations. In the evening, we received a detailed report with photos identifying areas of concern. This inspection was money well spent.
