They were kind. The price was same as everybody else and it was standard pricing. He also did my swimming pool.

Phoenix Excavation LLC

It went very well. Just about any other contractor that gave us an estimate for the excavation, wanted to tear down our fence and bring in a back hoe. We would have had to replace our fence, re-landscape and it would have tore up our driveway. Ron from Phoenix was the only one who was willing to do it through the fence. We paid more for it as expected but it was still within our budget and we didn't have to re-landscape. It required a lot of extra manual labor that Ron was willing to do.

D.J. Concrete & Masonry Inc.

We worked with Jim Spurgin. He came out and was very helpful. He helped us figure out exactly how much concrete we would need, spraypainted it to get a visual and even had his workers help us move an awning system to see if it would fit on the new concrete area. They did the work very professionally.

JBS Construction

I hired JBS to replace my 50 year old patio (26ft x 27ft) whcih was heaved and broken. This job was right next to an in ground pool which for most contractors contacted was a no bid. They were professional and exacting. Their crew was a mix of old and young who all knew their work and acted like it. The concrete pour was well done. The finishing work reflected their skill and attention. I am happily looking at the completed job.

Steve and his crew started the job right on time. They made sure they understood what we wanted the yard to look like and they answered all our questions. Steve kept us updated on their progress and when he expected to be finished. The whole project took less than one week. They were extremely professional and friendly.

Darren's Skid Steer Service Inc.

I answered a Craigslist ad for free fill. Darren called me, explained his situation, what he had and when he planned to do it. We are filling a swimming pool hole in our back yard that my spouse called and quot;the pit of despairand quot;. My calculations were that we needed about 30 yards of dirt to fill the hole. This would need to be delivered to a back yard where the dump truck will not fit. Our only option would be for him to put the loads on our driveway and to fill the hole with the skidsteer at $80/hour with a $75 equipment charge. We agreed (we were quoted up to $3000 to have this darn hole filled) readily. Since he took less than 2 hours, he reduced the bill to $200.00. We tipped him another $40 in cash. Once he fired up the skidsteer, the vehicle never stopped moving. It was in the high 80's that day, but he never stopped or took a break, not even to get water.

The job finshed a looked great. Using his suggestions I was able to reduce time and labor on two other projects I was doing, even though they did not include Dennis excpet to haul materials. He was punctual, excpetionally hard working, and very helpful. The finished products all look great and we are enjoying them.

IT TOOK ME THREE YEARS TO FIND SOMEONE TO EVEN ACCOMPLISH THIS PROJECT. HE WAS VERY PATIENT UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES. THE WEATHER WAS JUST AWFUL FOR TWO WEEKS, WHICH WAS BEYOND CONTROL. HE WAS MOST PROFESSIONAL AND ALWAYS REALLY NICE. ALL ASPECTS OF THIS JOB WAS COMPLETED TO MY SATISFACTION.

Concrete Coatings of Illinois
1.0
I was the president of the Homeowner's Association for Cass Lake Village Condos in Westmont IL. We hired them to put a concrete coating over our old concrete swimming pool deck. We scheduled it to be done early enough before the memorial day opening of our pool but they did not show up and continued to postpone claiming weather delays that was way behind what could have been realistic for the couple of rain days we had that month. We ended up having to open the pool 3 weeks late. After finally arriving to do the job the workers did not seem very professional and once the job was finished they cleaned up their tools in our landscaping next to the pool. Within a month or so there was cracking. Then shortly thereafter there were large pieces of the coating coming up. By the end of the summer the pool deck looked very bad. After contacting the company, they said that the damage was due to the deck underneath shifting but they would come back and fix it this one time. If the concrete underneath was shifting, that might explain the cracking but it certainly would not explain the large pieces of coating coming off the deck. Their coating simply wasn't applied correctly and was not adhering to the subsurface. We had another 2 other contractors out to give us and estimate on fixing it and they both agreed it was an application problem. It took many calls on my part and the part of our management company to get them to come out almost 1 year later and the fix was very shoddy and ended up making the deck look worse. In my time as Board President for the homeowner's association I dealt with many, many vendors. They were the worst I have ever dealt with in terms of work quality and customer service.
