I had several projects that needed to be done including new windows throughout the house, exterior painting or siding replacement and a new storm door. I contacted both Genesis Painting and Genesis Exteriors to help determine if I should paint or replace the siding. Scott was very helpful in giving me proposals for siding, window and storm door replacement. He patiently answered all my questions ... and I decided to proceed initially with just the basement window and storm door. The basement window replacement was very smooth but the storm door was problematic. At the first installation attempt, the wrong door had been ordered. The installer argued with me that it was the right door and I called Scott immediately, concerned that there had been a miscommunication because Scott did not have any product literature with him when I ordered the door. But he quickly confirmed it was their error and a new door was ordered. At the second installation attempt, the door had significant scratches on it when it was unpacked and therefore was not suitable to install. I give the installer credit because he made me aware immediately vs. proceeding with installing a cosmetically damaged product. However I was disappointed that it had not been unpacked or inspected prior to the install. Additionally, I discovered that the installer would not have been prepared to complete the job anyway because he was not equipped to wrap the exterior trim as has been included in the bid. On the third attempt, a different installer who had the skills and tools to wrap the trim was sent and the installation completed. All in all, I am pleased with the product but feel that better attention to detail by the folks back at the shop who order and schedule projects would have saved me a lot of effort and time off work.
