They are always on top of what they are doing and are great about making sure that our carpets are living up to our standards. When they needed stretching, Carpet Mart came out and fixed them at no extra charge. They recently came a spot check for us.

Had some problems, but they were eventually taken care of, hence the B rating, it should probably be lower, but they did their best to remedy. Want the details? It's a long story, but I'll try to summarize. The owner's son, Patrick, arrived early. Sharp kid, 25, who seems to know his stuff about carpet. Before I could get there, he was pitching my wife on how hard the job was going to be. Hours of grueling work to re-stretch two carpet areas. Due to that potential cost, I agreed to have 1 stretched and 1 replaced. It took him 20 min to determine the price to replace the carpet in 1 area (seriously) and 30 min to stretch the 1 area. To my surprise, he still wanted the $175 for the stretching job. Since it's what I agreed to, I reluctantly paid him. I also cut a check for the replacement area, $575 so he could order the materials; again strange process, but whatev. I get a call the next morning stating they could install on Thursday. I call him back, he couldn't answer, so I called the store to explain, I have a FUNERAL on Thursday and asked if Friday would work. They confirm with him that Friday at 11:00 is fine. While I am BURYING MY GRANDMOTHER on Thursday, I get call after call, assuming it is my work, I ignore; nope, it's Korfhage, they are at my house ready to install carpet I had re-scheduled for the next day. I didn't realize it was them till 1 hour after our scheduled time on Friday when I called to ask where they were. I was told "we tried to call you yesterday numerous times and you weren't home." Eventually, they get to the bottom of it, but ultimately, they couldn't install me on the day they had agreed due to internal scheduling issues, but got me scheduled and installed on Saturday. Inconvenient, but not the end of the world. Looking through all the "brag" paperwork, it suggested I call Doug who would LOVE to hear about my experience. So I call, tell him a little bit of the story, and he says, "can I call you back? I'm in a warehouse and can't hear too well." Sure. Little did I know I was calling the owner and I get a call back 30 min later from the owner's son Patrick. Now I'm in the awkward position of telling the guy that I feel ripped me off and scheduled improperly did just that. He takes no ownership in the scheduling issue blaming me (yes, me for not calling his cell more frequently) and the staff for not informing him more directly. He claimed the excessive charge for stretching was for insurance purposes. He reluctantly offered to give me $50 back. I suggested to give me $75 which would still pay him $200/hr (more than I pay my doctor) for stretching and $75 of profit on the new room (as agreed upon). Rhetorically he asks, "so you don't want us to make any profit?" Then passive aggressively agrees to the $75 credit stating, the customer is always right and it would be on my conscience. Blown away, do whatever, it's $75 not a million, just have someone come out to look at the seem. Doug, owner, father, calls me to schedule the inspection of the job and fix seem, apologizes for the experience thus far and ensures me he'll make it right. He arrives on time in professional dress. He inspected everything, even hammered down a tack strip on his hands and knees in his slacks. He listened, genuinely apologized profusely, and humbly said he would cut a $150 check for all the trouble. Although it was an overall bad experience, I can't give anyone less than a B when they go to such lengths to make it right.

Royally screwed up our carpet. No real way to fix it. When I called to talk about making it right he accused me of being nasty, blamed my contractor and hung up on me. STAY AWAY!!

John Simpson worked my small job in the very same week. He was on time to the job. He spent about an hour re-stretching and re-laying carpet my wife and I had to take up in order to fix a plumbing leak. The replaced mantle and work he did looks better than the carpet did before we took it up. He worked quickly and charged us a flat fee that was reasonable for his time in doing the job and his travel from Jeffersonville, IN, to our home in Louisville to complete the job. I would definitely use these providers again.

7 Pillars Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning LLC

This was possibly the worst service we've ever had! I recently bought a house and was looking for a company to clean and stretch the carpet. It was stained and smelled of wet dog. I did my research and found 7 Pillars Carpet Cleaning and saw the good reviews. The entire experience was one big problem and because they did not try to work with me, we are leaving them a bad review! Here is the list of issues we experienced: • The initial phone appraisal ($244.95) of our small home (800 sq. feet of carpet) was grossly inaccurate. We had an appointment scheduled for June 27 at 9am. After waiting for 45 minutes that morning. I decided to call at 9:45am asking where the owner/cleaner was and was told he would be there by 10:30am. He finally showed at 11:20am, more than 2 hours late! He then accused us of misrepresenting the carpet stretching job, quoting a new price ($554.95) that was more than double the amount. Then he rescheduled the appointment for June 29 at 1pm. • On June 29, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM, I received 3 phone calls from the owner while I was in the middle of my job. He finally left a voicemail the third time at 12:30pm stating he found no one was home. I returned the call and told him I would be there at 1pm which was the time we scheduled for. I was at my house on time (12:57 PM.) found that he left. I called and he told that he would be back shortly. He did not show back up until 2:30pm! Again, I wasted another 1 and half hours waiting on him. He told me it would take about 2 hours totally. 1 and half for stretching and patching 2 spots. Cleaning would need only half hour (really? Only need half hour to clean 800 sq ft carpet?!!) I left and came back 90 minutes later and they were finishing up. I saw a lot of big stains still on the carpet and asked the owner about this. He stated they tried to run the cleaning machine over it a few times and the stains didn't come off and that is all they can do… There was no mention of trying any sort of stain remover for spot treatment. Fine, I went along and hoped it would look better when it’s dried. • The owner asked if I was paying with credit card, check, or cash. I told him credit card. He then proceeded to explain that he would have to pay a fee if I used my credit card, which I thought was unprofessional and not to mentioned I lost a 3% CC cashback reward, but I agreed to pay with check so to get this done with. • The next day, I came back to the house to check to see how the carpet was after drying. The awful wet dog odor was still there and in fact was worse than before (not sure why.) The carpet looked lighter but all the stains still there. There were 3 damaged carpet corners (3 large, 1 small) in the house. We agreed on the first day that the 2 large corners would be patched while the small one would just be left alone. The result: only 1 large one was patched along with the small one. • I was so unhappy with the results that I called the representative lady to express how unsatisfied I was with this job. In fact, we demanded a refund for the carpet cleaning. I had no problem with paying for the carpet stretching since that job was completed, but I wanted my money back for the carpet cleaning. After 2.5 days, we did not receive a call back from the owner, as lady had told me. I called and left a voicemail again, and still did not receive a call back. • I had to hire another company to clean the carpet and get the smell out. They made it look easy and even reported the stains were not difficult to remove. • I really do not like leaving bad reviews and I was hopeful I could have resolved this with the company without doing this, but they are refusing to call me back. Our last words about this company: They have poor customer service, they are unable to keep scheduled appointments, smells and stains are not removed from carpets, inaccurate with their job/ promises, and they do not follow up with complaints about their services. I highly recommend looking for another company for carpet cleaning.

No issues at all. Installation was great and the quality of the carpet is exactly what we were looking for. We have had that room carpeted twice in the last 12 years. Neither carpet proved to be of good quality. We had one of those re-stretched twice. We have had NO issues with the quality of this carpet.

They came and pulled the carpet back while I was having my basement waterproofed. They also came back and replaced/re-stretched. They are coming back next week to put new carpet down in one room. I've worked directly with the owner, Mark. The installer was quick and clean. Cleaned everything up, no mess left behind.

New Albany, IN

Recent Review: Had my downstairs apartment carpeted, was a concrete foundation, two rooms. By supposed word of mouth this contractor arrived two days later than originally scheduled and arrived at a later time that day. Had not looked at rooms beforehand and quoted $25 more than what was agreed upon by phone as the drive from IN to Louisville was lengthy I guess. It was used carpet that I had kept and I also supplied tack strips and padding. Carpet was in good shape and the contractor and his assistant tried to flatten out the carpet given its shape. I understood that. The issues I had was that they arrived late, the assistant wanted coffee and I obliged in making two pots of it, the stretching of the carpet was NOT good at all as there are creases in the carpet still, very noticeable, very loose, and there was no cleanup/removal of the access carpet that was cut. There were cigarette butts on the back porch, just not very professional, the job lasted until close to midnight, just could have been a whole lot better given the $175 price. I would NOT recommend this company to do a side job such as this at that price given the type of work that was performed, sorry but that's how my girlfriend and I feel. Had our family over recently and they commented on how poorly the carpet wasn't stretched better. Word of mouth is sometimes not entirely accurate.
