Los Angeles Deck Waterproofing

We needed our roof decks refinished to avoid leaks. We had been having problems in the past with other deck refinishers and were at our wits' end. After doing a lot of research, we decided to contact Cameron at AMC to see if he could fix our deck issues once and for all. Cameron showed us a completely new and reliable way to finish our decks using many of the same materials that are used to finish the bottom of commercial swimming pools at water parks. We were impressed. Before, we had been having to refinish our decks on a semi-annual basis because our previous deck material kept flaking and cracking in the Southern California sun. This new treatment would last for many years. Cameron's crew was very thorough. They made sure to take up all the old material. During the extraction process, the surface of the deck became slightly irregular, so after resealing the deck, they came back numerous times to smooth out any imperfections and repaint the deck to make sure that it looked just like new. They were very conscientious and took pride in the quality of their work. We've had no problems with leaks since and it has been years. Our deck is still sealed tight. Something else we want to mention is that Cameron showed up personally at the end of each stage of the job to quality-check the work done by his employees. It's great to have him there as quality control to make sure everything is just so. He's very knowledgeable and particular about how the job gets done, and we have appreciated his expertise and integrity. I would definitely recommend AMC. Excellent. David and his team worked with me throughout the entire process. A received a prompt call from David after my initial inquiry. He answered all my questions and worked with me through the entire process (even when I had changes.) He was prompt and on-time every day and was even ahead of schedule with my specific time-frame for a big deck. He's a hard worker with attention to detail and exceeded my expectations. They replied to my message promptly and I had their bid within a few days. David kept in contact through the process and scheduled work around weather conditions. Final job looks great and everything was left clean and neat. Price was much lower than the other bid I got.

Cameron and his crew were very thorough in waterproofing the entire deck to house junction. Every seam and nail hole associated with the area was sealed twice.

I had called 8 other companies and they wanted to do unnecessary work at extremely high prices. We were referred b another company on Angie’s List, who explained we really needed a waterproof coating. I then Spoke to the owner of Fiber Coat Deck Company, and he immediately knew what we needed to stop the leak and prevent it from recurring with a special fiberglass coating used by his company. He even gave a warranty when other companies weren’t even sure that their high priced work wood fix the problem. They were amazing and even sealed around areas the HOW had moved that contributed to the leakage. They put on very professional drain covers and corrected the tilt so the water would actually drain like they should. There has been no leak since. They only took 2 days and the work is excellent quality and looks amazing. The cost was between 1/2 and 1/4th of what other companies put in their bids and they could not guarantee their work. They were honest, professional, competent, on time and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend the services of Fiber-Coat Deck Company.

We had a second story deck that was leaking water into the garage. We got 4 companies to come and give us a quote. Two of them were cheaper but they seemed as puzzled as we were about what to do and could not guarantee from future problems. The other company suggested rebuilding the entire deck and was way out of budget. Ryan from Monarch Custom Coatings came with a sample that had several layers to waterproof the deck - we were very impressed that he was very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience with this type of work. He and his crew worked very hard, always professional, prompt, courteous, and our deck looks amazing now. We were so happy with them that we hired them again to redo the garage floors. We have had bad experiences in the past with contractors, so we know that finding a good, reliable, and honest one is very hard and rare. We highly recommend Monarch Custom Coatings!

It went very well. The painter sent by SOD builders came and spent most of the morning sanding and refinished the deck. He got mostly 3/4 finished with the first coat of paint so I had to pay extra for the rest of the painting but the work was excellent so I didn't mind. When it was finished the job was excellent.

Went very well. Workers were prompt and efficient. Waterproofing has not failed after 1 year of rains. Not sure if it'll hold up to 10 years, but time will tell.

It went very well! They were really professional and I had them also repair some weak spots. They were also very accommodating to the tenants.

John and his team did a great job and John knows decks. I think he's been doing this for 20 yrs. He told me what I needed and also was honest about what not to do which I like in a contractor. I initially was referred to him by a company he used to work for so that was good. John called me back within 2 hours and was able to come see my project right away and get it scheduled. They were very neat and did not leave materials laying around. In fact, they actually asked if they could leave some materials they would be using the next day and I did not mind. They cleaned up each day and upon finishing cleaned up after themselves. I definately recommend John and he also does other surfaces like garage floors.

It was a pleasure working with Chris and Kari. Chris did an excellent job on waterproofing my deck (previously was covered with an artificial turf). He removed this and over one week laid down multiple layers of the waterproofing materials. He did such a good job, we invited him back months later to put epoxy coating on our garage floor. Both times, he was extremely professional, on time, and clean. The deck and garage look awesome. During the rainy season, we did not have any problems with the deck and it is draining appropriately. Price was very fair ($4300 for the deck, lowest offer we got. $2150 for a three car garage epoxy floor, also very competitive). Would not hesitate to use their services again.

The bid process was efficient and straightforward. Scheduling was delayed two weeks, but the job was completed on time except for one section that did not dry properly. Scheduling the repair was slow. The workmen did not show up on the first scheduled appointment (no phone call); on second attempt, the coating was applied just before a rain storm and washed away by morning. They fixed it on the third attempt.

Tim came out to our home over the weekend (which was very convenient) and provided us with a reasonable quote to power wash, sand and seal our redwood deck and teak table. We were provided a variety of colors and options of stain and felt that a honey shade would best suit our deck. The crew foreman, Misael, was prompt, courteous and ultimately did a fantastic job on the deck. He and his team had exceptional attention to detail. They went above and beyond. I'll use them for regular scheduled deck maintenance from this point on.
