June, 2009 - We had a crack in the fiberglass shower at one of our rental properties. A1 Refinishers came and fixed the crack and used concrete to shore up the bottom of the shower. It looked great but did NOT last. At the time of repair, we were given a 5 year Guarantee- "Guaranteed Until: 6/2/2014". Less than a year later, the cracks came back much worse. We called A1, they came out and fixed it at no charge as per their Work Guarantee. A few months later, the cracks reappeared and they came out again. Unfortunately, the cracks came back again and this time when we called A1, Barbara (not who we originally dealt with) told us that she would have to call us back when someone was going to be in our area. She told us that the owner said they would come out and fix it this third time, but then, that was it. We have called every other day for the last 4 months, and have just been given the run-around. Finally, Barbara changed her story and told us it would have to be completely re-done at our cost, as it no longer was covered by the Guarantee. We asked to speak to her supervisor on several occasions but she always said he wasn't there. She wouldn't give us his name or his direct phone number so we could contact him. Finally, my husband tried calling to let them know we were going to give them 2 days to make it right and Barbara cursed and hung up on him. March, 2012 - Prior to us having this last and final problem with A1, we used them on another rental property for a crack in a fiberglass bathtub. Barbara quoted me a price to repair it over the phone - $475. We accepted the price and she had her guys came out and started the work. After the work had already been started, Barbara called and said she made a mistake and mis-quoted the price to me. She forgot to include the charge to re-glaze the tub, an additional $325. I asked if they could just do the repair without the reglaze since the rest of the tub was in good shape. She said No. It HAD to be reglazed otherwise, the repair work wouldn't hold. I told her how disappointed I was and that it felt like she was pulling a "bait and switch" on me. We had no choice but to pay the additional cost.
