Tony Skoda Plumbing

DO NOT use this plumber! After a year, I'm STILL finding corners this guy cut on his work! We had just bought a house in the area and then I immediately needed to work out of town. We knew no one in the neighborhood, so my wife looked up the the two nearest plumbers. At the time, Tony Skoda seemed like the most professional, so my she went with him. She had Mr. Skoda install a gas line to our new range. In doing so, he apparently picked a spot in the cabinet, under the range and just started drilling. Well he obviously must have known he hit something but was too lazy to go under the house in the buildup to see what it was. He ended up drilling right through a joist, weakening our floor! When I returned, I crawled under the house to examine the work and noticed that he had drilled right through the joist! I called him to express my displeasure. He was unapologetic but offered to come and "fix" it. How you would fix a joist that has already been drilled through?!! I told him that I didn't want him to touch my house again and declined the offer. Last winter, our heating bill seemed a bit high, so today, I crawled under the house to examined the insulation. Apparently where Mr. Skoda had brought the pipe in, from the gas meter, he had ripped off several sheets of insulation, leaving a large patch of uninsulated flooring, under my living room. He never re-installed the insulation ...just left it tossed aside, under the house! Jeez! Don't walk, RUN from this guy!!

I got several quotes from top rated plumbers to run a gas line to my wood burning fireplace and convert it to a gas burning fireplace. Claudio was the least expensive and highly rated on Angie's list so we went with him and we are glad we did. The city of Agoura had some specifications for the job and he made sure he spoke to the inspector thoroughly before starting the job so we had no issues with the inspection The job was finished quickly and we are very happy with our new fireplace and will use Claudio for any future projects.

Contacted in morning and out by noon. Provided a clear estimate of services, set a date to do the work, and did it when scheduled- actually before scheduled time! Very friendly, professional, efficient, and clean. Knew what they were doing- will not hesitate to call again for future services.

The process took about an hour. He took apart the pipes, rebuilt the path with the included new valve and installed a support arm to secure the pipes to the house. He turned on the gas, trimmed and capped the support arm, re-lit the pilots in the water heater and furnace. He verified that gas was running through the stove and that the heater turned on and finished by squirting soapy water over all the fittings to ensure no leaks. He closed all required doors and gates, being sure that our dog didn't get out.

Joshua's Plumbing
5.0
Contacted several Plumbers for quotes and assessment, Joshua responded withing hours even though he was out of town on vacation. We scheduled an appointment and he arrived promptly, he was meticulous in his assessment, we discussed my needs and timeline (due to remodel with kitchen contractors), he outlined completly the time schedule to complete the work, the process and the available choices for re-pipe (copper and pex). After meeting Joshua and receiving his bid promptly the same evening and then Joshua speaking with my husband on the phone to discuss what he reviewed with me, we selected Joshua as our contractor of choice for the project. One contractor quoted us a lower price and said it would be better if we left the house for a week! We didnt call him back. After Joshua came out to the house I knew he was the right choice, price was not the only deciding factor. WE ABSOLUTELY MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE, Joshua is wonderful, very neat, very organized and very very detail oriented. He handled all aspects of the job with total professionalism and honesty. We will now use Joshuas Plumbing as our "regular" plumber. We are very happy with our choice and have no regrets. We feel as if we have made a friend with Joshua. He is very likeable, honest and trustworthy. Joshua was very deatiled in explaining the process; and the day the job started he was very courteous to the fact that we would be without water for a period of time, he staged his work so that the amount of time the water was completey off was as minimal as possible. He maintained a very clean work area and was considerate of the other family members and pets in the home. Joshua reviewed carefully the kitchen contractors design plans so that his gas line installation would align with the new cabinet installation, and advised us he would return after cabinets are installed to wrap up and finalize the line. After completing the project he told me to call anytime if I had any concerns or needs, no matter how small. Nice guy! Please dont hesitate to contact Joshua's Plumbing for all your plumbing needs, you will not be disappointed. Family friendly person and and so enjoyable. Thank You Joshua.

In the process of redoing the yard, many plants died. Contractor wrote me a note saying he had put enough money into my yard (ie the re-do of the botched gas line) and I should find another person to replace dead plants, etc. that had been guaranteed for a year. In addition, the decompossed granite that he put down is now breaking off to the point that you can see the black cloth he put underneath for the weed protection. I'm planning on having it redone this spring. Do Not Use this company. Seriously bad news!

Javair Heating & Air Conditioning

Listened to customer needs and performed timely, quality workmanship. System is well balanced and distributes air affectively throughout the house. Javier checked on the work, Workers were contentious and maintained a clean work area. Very satisfied and would recommend this operation to a good friend. AC unit specified in quote was less of a SEER rating than what JAVAIR provided and installed. The property owner where work was performed is a licensed contracter, no more could have been asked from this great operation!

CRAIG'S PLUMBING

This company replaced our gas line last May. We are having a gas issue: no more heat or hot water. We called them and asked them to come ASAP and they said they will be to our home the next morning. We were waiting. Calling them and finally told us they will not come today but tomorrow. I explained them again he situation and they did not care at all even so the job was still under warranty. Not a reliable and trustful company be aware of it!
If we knew we had to wait so long we would have called another company on day one.
And on the top of that the owner of Craigs plumbing is saying we are liars! He was supposed to replace all the gas lines under the house and eliminate unused lines under the house. The roof line is coming from under the house: so yes he did not do your job properly! And he claimed he did not go into our house so how could you verify the stove? He told my us during his phone call that he will be there around 12:15pm and later after not showing up told us he never said that: we were two hearing the same thing! I guess you had to go somewhere else instead! And yes we've got super angry at you because you don't do that to customers. I blasted at you because you did not care at all about the fact we did not have any heater or hot water int he house and you've cancelled on us.
I guess we don't have the same definitions of bad words, what is unreliable, and dishonest. We had a plumbing company that confirmed you did not eliminate the unused gas lines under the house and fix the issue right away!

Andy Castillo Plumbing

While I was painting behind my stove I bent down next to the gas line and actually felt air blowing from a hole in the line onto my cheek--but the air was natural gas. I knew I had smelled some gas, but I kept assuming it was the pilot light. Nope, it was a huge leak in the gas line. No wonder I felt light-headed. I called So Cal Gas to come check it out and their tech replaced the line, but when he tested the pressure on the gas line in the whole house there was still a significant leak. Yikes. The gas company shut off the gas to the entire house, so no cooking, no hot water for showers or laundry. I called another different plumbing company who charged $99 to do an initial visit--wherein they wanted me to sign paperwork for a $600 test of the gas line--but on the first visit they didn't do any work, so I would need to schedule another appointment for a few days later for the gas line test. More cold showers for me. I was informed that if they would cap all of the appliances, then if the line was still leaking, all the horizontal lines would need to be replaced which would be about $9,000, then if that didn't work, all the vertical lines would be replaced for about another $2,000. So upwards of $11k. I asked around and everyone told me they thought that was too high, so I started looking and I found good reviews on Angi for Andy Castillo Plumbing. Their technician, Gus, came out the next day, and immediately went to work. Their gas line test was about $300--so HALF what the other company was charging, and there was no $99 initial visit fee. Gus replaced all five of the interior gas lines and old valves to see if that would hold pressure (and to bring the lines up to code, which they definitely were not). IT WORKED!! Instead of spending $11,000, the entire job cost about $900. Gus checked the line for pressure multiple times to make sure it was holding, then he did it again in front of me, so I could see that it had been repaired. When the gas company inspectors came, they said the line was solid, and they restored my gas!! The entire time Gus was there, he explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it, in clear terms. When I asked him how much it might be if he needed to replace all the gas lines (if the pressure didn't hold), he told me it would be around $3,000--which is almost A QUARTER of what the other company would have charged for the same service. My old plumber retired and I've been looking for someone reliable, honest and skilled to do periodic work on my 110 year old house--and now I found him. Gus is amazing, this company has honest, kind, clear, skilled plumbers, and they are now my new plumbers! (and there have been about four other companies I tried before them for other plumbing jobs, so I don't say that lightly.)

Ford's Plumbing and Heating
5.0
I had to have the main gas line replaced. Riley was the tech on site and who gave me the estimate. A bit of sticker shock. However, with the scope of the project, I realized the price was fair. The guys were here everyday on time, worked hard, took care not to mess the yard up beyond the 80 foot trench and when they were done and the inspector came, Paul came out to fill the trench back in. Paul was very professional and conscientious about making everything just as it was before. Everyone was nice. Elyse and Aracely in the office were very nice and made sure all my problems were followed up on and addressed. I would definitely recommend Ford's Plumbing to anyone in search of good service. For what it's worth, I found them on Angie's List where I also found a roofer who I'm equally pleased with.

Recent Review: It went really well. They beat the quote from another plumber, which was great. They're going to be doing another job for us and they came out lower on that estimate as well. They come out and take care of us right away. Nelson, the supervisor, called me right away last week and talked about what was needed, then got the estimate right out. They were efficient, on time, and very quick.

They were delayed with another job on the day they were scheduled to come for the estimate but kept us informed of the delay and came the next scheduled time. They came and replaced the valve as scheduled and checked that the system was working correctly. They were really good at communicating and the work they did was exactly what we needed. We are very happy with this company and will definitely use them again!

Recent Review: The plumbers came in on the day that we had agreed upon and did their work in a very timely way. They used what I believe were the best materials for the job and brought the job in for the original bid price. The contractor as well as the plumbers working for ELC Builders Inc were courteous and thorough They did a great thing by making sure that we did not go a day without hot water. (Make sure you have your electrician on hand to give power to the tankless water heater) All in all I was very satisfied with the work ELC did

Recent Review: Great! First I talked to Ben and got an estimate from him - he's friendly, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Then Josh came out and did the work right as scheduled, removing our old water heater and installing a new one. The price was great and everyone was professional and obviously great at their job. Unlike the other estimate I got, there was no price creep - the estimate is what I paid

Recent Review: This is actually the third time I used Marc and Ean, but this was a planned project and my apologies to them for such a delayed review. The first two were for emergencies. My first time I used them was in September 2016, some part to my water heater wasn't working so I didn't have hot water for a week waiting for a part from the gas company only to find out later the gas company doesn't repair... only give the part :/ while waiting for the part though thats when my neighbor referred me to them (in hindsight I should have just called Marc and Ean they would have got the job done faster). The second time was January 2017. The hot water spigot for my washer was leaking and sprayed all over when I turned it on. Worried about water pipe even if I shut it off, I called Marc and he returned my call promptly, even on his day off. Reassuring me it would be fine shut off until they could get it the next day and I could still do laundry using the cold water. It was stormy that day of their service call, I remember because they were still very prompt despite the weather and they dried their boots before entering. :) This last time is a happier note....I finally got my grill hooked up after researching for two years debating on natural gas or propane among other features... But it summarizes my experience with them nicely. Marc and Ean will be there for you for an emergency or planned job. They are polite, honest and experts at what they do. I really appreciate them accommodating my schedule and their promptness. Their prices are fair too. I think most of all I appreciate the time they took to educate me during each job they performed. Especially with the last job from helping me set up my grill because my patio is not level, to walking me through the set up, hook up of the hoses, turning off the emergency valve and putting the rubber stoppers on so bugs wouldn't crawl in. Ean demonstrated and let me try the hose connections and he even showed me how to ignite the grill ( only ever used charcoal hibachi..) then Marc gave me a thumbs up for a home made gas leak solution for my final safety check before I started grilling a couple days later :) I've recommended them to many friends should they have plumbing needs and they are MY ONLY choice for plumbers. Rest assured you will be completely satisfied with their work. MAKE IT DRAIN with MARC and EAN are HONEST, RELIABLE and EXPERT PROFESSIONALS.

Recent Review: I called this company and spoke to Harry after my brother hired a handyman to originally to replace a wall heater and venting system. According to Harry, the handyman did a horrible and dangerous job so I am happy that Harry and his team fixed the problem. I would hire this company again. If I had done this right the first time and not use that darn HANDYMAN, I wouldn't have spent so much money if I had just called California Air in the first place! One thing I learned about all this....HIRE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

What do customers in Los Angeles say about Gas Line Installation?

Excellent. Took extra effort to protect walls and to secure the line properly. Other contractors wanted to break holes in the wall for their convenience. Mr Holder found a way not to do that, even though it took extra effort on his part.
