B & O Concrete and Masonry

B & O Construction did a great job! After a few other bids that tried to sell me more than I needed or wanted it was refreshing to get a straightforward estimate. The job was done in one day with no complications or hassles. Thank you B & O Construction!

PVM Concrete Contractor

I repaired the below grade room and water damage without pouring a new concrete subfloor. After about 5 months of work in the space; it came out quite nice, without pouring concrete as a subfloor. The recommendation to NOT pour concrete was the correct one.

Sunland Concrete & Masonry Inc

Very high quality work. Showed up on time initially, but subsequently were generally not sure when we would next see the workers. The Contractor gave time estimates based on time required for the job, not calendar days required. This was confusing to us since we were very anxious to complete the job. However, some of the delay was our fault because of design changes and additional work. One problem occurred when a worker failed to waterproof the retaining wall all the way to the top of the wall. The first time I watered my fruit trees on the bank above the wall, a significant amount of water leaked through the wall. I brought this to the attention of the contractor and he immediately without quibbling had workers remove the concrete water trough at the top of the wall that they had poured, excavate the wall down to the waterproofed part of the wall (about 2 '), and waterproof the rest of the wall all the way to the top. The water trough measured 4" X 12" X 85'. They then replaced the water trough with a slightly wider water trough 4" X 16" X 85'. This alone convinced I had hired a good contractor. Note: I have already contacted the contractor for bids for short stub block walls by a side gate and for steps to the top the retaining wall.

Cal Neva Concrete

Great job from Cal Neva. I needed to widen the driveway and they showed up when they said they would to give me their price quote, then did the same thing on the job day. Did a good job digging out more dirt and framing the area. They were very reliable. I would hire them again.

Main water line under concrete walkway sprung a leak requiring removal of concrete to reach water line for repair. Pete cut and jackhammered section then poured new walkway. He did this in a timely manner and was pleasant to work with.

Lupeni and his crew were great to work with. I had a relatively small concrete job to do near my pool and Lupeni was friendly, answered all my questions, and gave me a very fair price. They did a very professional job and they also did a good job cleaning up after themselves. In the course of doing the first job Lupeni pointed out to me where a tree in my backyard was in the process of breaking and lifting up a section of concrete. He offered me a good deal to remove the tree and to replace the sidewalk. I would definitely use him again.

From the beginning I was impressed by Val?s responsiveness, professional demeanor and willingness to answer questions outside of the scope of his involvement. I received multiple quotes and though his wasn't the absolute lowest it was very competitive. They did an excellent job pouring, grading and finishing the concrete. The workers were friendly and even told my wife when the concrete was ready for my children?s handprints. They also cleaned up very nicely when they were finished. When they were removing the forms I noticed a chip (~1?x2?) on the sidewalk and brought it to the worker?s attention. It seemed to me that he suggested I do the repair which I didn?t appreciate but admittedly it could have been a communication issue. I called Val to let him know about the chip and he was just as responsive as he had been before starting the project (and before being paid in full). The damage was repaired in less than a week. The repair job was extremely small but a bit sloppy and unfinished but my wife was satisfied so I was too. Overall I can?t speak highly enough about Val and his operation. I?ve had the misfortune of working and observing the processes of several contractors over the years and haven?t been nearly as satisfied as I am with Val. The work was excellent, his workers put their trash in the trash can, he was punctual and he remained responsive until I was satisfied. Thank you Val.

MESSINEO MASONRY & CONCRETE
5.0
This was the third time using Joe. My neighbors shared the cost in building a cinderblock wall around the entire property for two properties. We also had him do a small cinderblock wall between two properties in the front yard. We have been extremely happy with him and his crew. He communicates well and takes pride in his work. For this job, we called him in when we were adding an addition to the house. We didn't like the quote of the existing contractor and we knew Joe does good work. Not only did Joe give us a good quote, but be he had the idea of adding brick to border the patio and to usethe brick for steps leading to the patio. He exceeded our expectations and the patio is often the favorite part of vistors when we are showing our addition. He worked with us to add a certain kind of bracket to the patio, so we could install our own railing. We were out of money, and couldn't afford any more hired help and he did what we asked so that we could go back later. He has great suggestions and is refreshing to be able to communicate with. Extremely proffessional. He was on site for the job and we knew we didn't need watch him. Very trustworthy, because he does what makes sense and looks spectacular. He just has to be the best masonist in the area.

Mission Concrete

It went great. They were on time for the bid and got back to me quickly with an estimate. During the bid they shared with me what needed to be done and how they were going to do everything. They sent me an email later that night with a price. I had already also recieved two other bids. This was the best priced and most detailed. All the work was done on time and to the specifications that were in the bid. The work was great. The price was great. All the workers were nice and they cleaned up. If I need more work done in the future I would call Mission concrete without a second thought. They produced quality work that went above my expectations.

EMINENT CONSTRUCTION
5.0
Miron the consultant for Eminent Construction came to my home and gave and estimate on a concrete sidewalk, stairs and small porch that had to be replaced. I hired Eminent cause their price was excellent for the work that had to be done. Miron and his crew demo the existing concrete, clean and haul away. They pour the concrete and formed the sidewalk, stairs and porch. They waterproofed the edges of the house where the new concrete laid. They also did touch up and waterproofed around the rest of the house were concrete was slightly cracked and separated for the foundation of the house. After the job was completed they cleaned up real good. I am really happy with the job done by Miron and his crew.

Robert'S Concrete Construction Services
1.0
Robert's did a horrible job on our concrete project. He didn't follow his typed instructions on our contract and the work quality is miserable. Robert's agrees that the work is not satisfactory, but just argues loudly rather than work to fix the problem. Robert's forms for the rounded concrete edges are wobbly and elongated and not circular where required. The project included stamped concrete with borders. The borders were to be trowelled in with regular broom finish. His crew stamped the borders (looks terrible) and disfigured the border edges with the stamp. Also, the border lines are wobbly and not straight and the grade is poor resulting in a large puddle of water about 1/2 inches deep. When asked about the problem, Robert says over and over that I'll like the look and to grow grass over the crooked concrete edges to hid them. Never use Robert's!

Recent Review: Bernardo Concrete gave me and my wife a proposal to install a concrete pad at our home for our shed in the back yard. The shed was on grass and Bernardo's men where kind enough to move the shed for us. Not only did they get the concrete pad poured down but they also got a buckled concrete sidewalk in our front yard fixed while they where there for tiny bit more. They were very professional and where fully licensed & insured that's very important to us. We had initially had called another contractor who was not so we were glad that we didn't lose more time with this one. Our overall experience was very pleasant and we would highly recommend Bernardo Concrete to anyone in search of a quality concrete contractor that won?t break the bank. James & Julie

Recent Review: California Custom Landscape did an outstanding job. They won the bid hands down, fulfilled all their obligations to the letter, were organized, neat, courteous, professional and well supervised. The demolition of the old wall was quick and they kept the work site in our parking lot neat. They encountered an unexpected and stubborn tree root ball during demolition but didn't charge us extra to remove it. The new wall section perfectly matches up against existing walls and the parking lot asphalt against the new wall was neatly repaired. The poured concrete sidewalk is a thing of beauty and craftsmanship. We are very pleased to highly recommend this company.
