Recent Review: A wonderful kitchen remodel experience. We talked with 2 other remodeling contractors and decided to go with So Cal Builders and Design (Avi, manager/contractor). My husband and I seemed like we had instant warmth with Avi and felt like he could be trusted. He turned all of our worries about remodeling into a great experience. The price was in the middle of the other contractors, but he showed us great pictures and Avi also had great ideas and we were hooked. We picked out our cabinets, countertop, backsplash, we also had LED lights installed. Then the process started, boy was I nervous at first when they gutted the kitchen, but after a day or two I was good. Everyone that worked for Avi seems like we had a good connection with and also trusted them. Ferdi was the person that did the gutting, plumbing, painting and installing the appliances and all sorts of other things (great job Ferdi). You know once you start a remodeling there are always other unforeseen issues that pop up. Yes, they popped up with our remodeling, we found out the owners prior to us did some electrical work and it was wrong. So, we had to fix the electrical issues and also upgraded our electrical box (additional cost, but good). Simon and Usher did all of our electrical work (great job Simon). Along the way we were able to change our minds and nobody had a problem with that (at least they didn?t complain). We also decided to make changes to an existing wall by adding on a larger countertop in the kitchen. When the cabinets were installed they looked GOOD, they used excellent materials, great workmanship and the crown molding was FABULOUS. The countertops and backsplash are amazing too. Avi was always available, also with texting which made life great, didn?t matter what time he was always able to get back to us with answers to our many questions. He also was available to stop by to make sure we were happy and things were going as planned. The overall experience was fantastic. We really enjoyed the professionalism and kindness that everybody displayed, also making sure we were pleased. Now we have our new kitchen and it is BEAUTIFUL. Recent Review: We are so pleased with our new backyard! We have so much more usable space, and less grass to water. Andrew was awesome to work with for the design aspect. Saul and his crew did an amazing job - hardest working guys I have ever seen. They demolished an existed cement patio, installed pavers, moved 2 big pygmy date palms, installed gas lines, put in new drip system, installed new sod. We had a few plants not make it and they were quick to get them replaced. We highly recommend California Smartscape and will use them again when we do our front yard.

Recent Review: We purchased a new construction home and needed a landscaper that understood the constraints of a very small backyard with neighbors a mere few feet away. Met with Scot Birrell and not only was he friendly and personable, he came prepared and proved very knowledgeable about his product, his designs and the restrictions of this community. He's experienced and professional. Once we started discussing what we envisioned for our small backyard Scot quickly grasped our concept and came up with some very smart suggestions. He even considered the needs of the dog and ensured we had pet-friendly areas. Scot recommended a gorgeous color scheme that we absolutely LOVE! We added landscaping, lighting, and believe it or not a small pergola for privacy, with installed lights. Our project manager, Cory, proved relentless! He worked around our demanding work schedules and met with us in the evenings and weekends to work out any issues with the installation. He doggedly worked the lighting issues to ensure we had a smart wireless system that met our needs. Our backyard is a showcase for the neighborhood. We couldn't be happier with the result. Our small space is a very serene and inviting area, all due to System Pavers and the Scot and Cory team. Thanks so much gentlemen!

Recent Review: After several years of consideration, we finally decided to install central air in our home in Culver City, and proceeded to contact three different companies for bids, including JW Heating. We waited to post this review until we were able to take full use of the unit and make sure this review was current and thorough. Ted from JW Heating & Air arrived at the initial meeting promptly and, to our surprise, took about 1 ½ hours to explain the entire process, the available equipment, the pros and cons of doing certain things, and financing. We didn?t realize there was so much entailed, since we already a furnace and the ducting in place. After receiving the three presentations and bids, we narrowed it down to two, and ultimately chose JW because the company seemed more ?hands on? and professional, and had excellent Yelp and Angie?s List reviews. It wasn?t the lowest bid, but it seemed the best considering what we were getting. We were replacing a 30 year old furnace, redoing all the duct work, all new registers, installing an air conditioning unit, installing an attic fan, wireless thermostat, etc. When installation day arrived, three workers promptly arrived and started the project. The installation took three and a half days, and JW took great measures to make protect the home and garage to make sure there wasn?t any mess. If there was debris, dust, etc., they cleaned everything up upon completion, each day. In particular, the team leader, Cesar (along with Ted), worked with us to discuss different strategies regarding placement of the unit, running pipes and electrical wires, etc., which were essential issues, as the aesthetics as to what shows on our house is extremely important to us. After the installation was completed and walking around the neighborhood, we noticed many instances where decisions were made that affected the outside of the house and were unsightly, so we really appreciated the input and decision making with respect to our specific installation and placement. There were a few inspections done after installation, and not only did they all pass, but many times the inspector(s) indicated that it was a nice, clean and totally professional job. Over the last two months, as you might imagine, we have used the system regularly, and it works perfectly. A day doesn?t go by (when it is 80% humidity outside) that we don?t appreciate having central air now, along with a quality installation and service.

Recent Review: Overall the contractors were extremely professional, responsive and agreeable to minor changes to the original contract without increasing cost. Loved working with Vic and Isaac! When problems occurred, they were exceptionally responsive and made necessary corrections/changes, such as staining of banister and correcting installation of doors. Extremely impressed with installation of baseboards and attention to detail (even installed baseboards inside closets), hardwood floors and recessed lighting. Interior painting was decent but needs to ensure they cover all areas prior to painting areas. Otherwise, I would hire them again.

Recent Review: Initially, I thought I had 2 light switches gone bad. The electrician came by, checked things out thoroughly, and determined that the switches were okay, but that the fixtures had gone bad. I had 1 extra fixture which they installed at the time, but I didn't have a second one. He removed the old fixture from the 2nd location and prepped it for installation of the second fixture. When i had trouble with the second installation, he returned and finished the job for me. The $150 cost covers both trips.

Recent Review: I met with Kathy to have a landscape design done as part of a complete backyard remodel and pool installation. The plan was created and plants were discussed during a visit to her offices where she has a nice display of the actual live plants. It was helpful to see the plants live versus just looking at them in pictures. After the plan was complete we scheduled work to take place based on completion estimates from the pool company. Unfortunately, they blew their estimates on three separate occasions and Kathy's crew had to be rescheduled as a result. She was very understanding of the issues and worked with us each time with a positive attitude, even though I knew it had to be a bit inconvenient for her company. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner. I was impressed with her crew as they cleaned up the work site each evening and did not leave their lunch papers, empty bottles, etc. laying around the yard as the other work crews had done. Her crews were polite and easy to work with, they actually all seem to really enjoy what they do. Kathy consistently checked in with us and kept us informed on the daily happenings. Our yard is now installed and we are completely satisfied with the result. Our first party in the yard yesterday was the final telling as everyone raved about the plants and how pretty the yard and the pond looked. We are so pleased with Alford's that we are now using them for out monthly service as well. I can honestly say out of all the vendors we worked with on this complete backyard remodel she was the only one that lived up to her word and delivered as promised!

Recent Review: The estimate from Stone Age Designs was the most detailed and easiest to read. Lou spent the most time with us talking & measuring our house & discussing our project to get an idea of exactly what we would like to do prior to submitting his bid. We ended up selecting Lou and Stone Age Designs for our project. Even with all the add on's the project took just over three month to complete which was very close to the originally plan. The entire process went very smoothly. Throughout the project we had been in contact with Lou via email and text. Lou was quick to respond to our emails & texts any time of the day or night, very detailed invoicing, and always willing to spend time with us & answer any questions we had. Throughout the project, Lou was a big help with selecting materials. Lou did most of the purchasing & worked out all delivery & receiving details with each retailer. Lou did all the interior design for the project. After showing him a few inspiration shots of what we liked Lou then worked up & provided us with three different layout options, complete with 3D renderings. Upon agreeing & selecting a layout Lou & the crew quickly got started. Everything always moved very quickly. The crew was at the house six days a week, sometimes even seven, often working 10 hour a day. Both Lou and the crew also showed extreme attention to detail. After every task was completed Lou would do a walk through and mark anything, even for the smallest of imperfections, to be reworked. The crew was always very respectful and a pleasure to work with. When Stone Age was done the house was left clean and ready for move in, even the windows were cleaned. We are very happy with Stone Age & look forward to working with them on our next project.

Recent Review: This was a total kitchen remodel which was completely professional and beautifully done. The workmanship is without compare and included professional cabinetry, ceramic tile and marble-type counter top installation, excellent plumbing and renovation of the electrical system. There was excellent pricing and quality of all the new appliances as well as interior painting and sale and installation of flooring. Butel Construction has earned the best possible rating in my opinion: A++.
