Patio Warehouse Inc

This was a wonderful experience. Our patio was crying out for a pergola. Paul came to our house, spent a lot of time showing me options, and wrote up a quote right there. Then a few days later Mario came out to take engineering measurements and start the permit process. Mario and his helper were so fast. They built the steps, finished with stucco, and prepped the space for the pergola. The only snafu was waiting for the city inspectors, who have their own schedule. There was a delay, and some confusion, but the office was very responsive to my concerns. In the end Mario did a beautiful job of my pergola and the mosaic tiles on my two steps. We are so pleased with our pergola that we are having some more decorative awnings installed on our garage.

I contacted Approved Contractors about re-stucco'ing my house based on a great rating on Angie's List. Jared came out and gave me a bid, and made some other suggestions about what they could help me repair, some of which I took and some I didn't. I decided to re-stucco the house and have them spruce up a sad looking pergola, including replacing some wood and painting it. I could restate what many others have said in their reviews, which is that the crew was super professional and nice. However, more importantly, I'm beyond impressed with their ethics and standards. Due to some miscommunication between Jared and his crew, the style of stucco I ended up with was explicitly not what I wanted. Instead of arguing with me or finding a way to blame me for this mistake, Jared took responsibility immediately (within 10 minutes of an email to him he called my cell phone) and not only offered but insisted that they would redo the entire stucco project at their cost or give me a partial refund. I went with the re-stucco and they spent 4 more days at my house (not a cheap fix for them). I have a 900 sq foot house and the cost for the re-stucco was about $6,000 (with an Angie's List deal). This included all the outside trim, fascia, eaves, etc. Work took only 4 days (each time, lol), including the pergola repair. Special shout out to Rafael, my crew leader, super funny and nice guy. Customer satisfaction has been their #1 priority in every given situation, and that is rare. My dad was a contractor who used to go around fixing other contractor's mistakes, so I especially appreciate how unique a company like this is.

This company is an absolute joke! I contacted them on May 1st regarding a custom pergola that I wanted them to make. They told me that their local sales manager would contact me shortly to schedule a meeting so that he could take all of the necessary measurements and provide pricing. On May 4th, Jeffrey reached out and said that he would be happy to come out to my house and get all of the necessary measurements in order to move forward. We emailed back and forth multiple times about the project details, spoke on the phone on several occasions, and Jeff just kept wasting time. I answered all of his questions, but during our next discussion, he would just ask the same questions again…it was as though he wasn’t even paying attention. Perhaps it was a case of selective amnesia? I kept asking him, “can we schedule a meeting?”, but he would just say “I might be free this week; what is your address?”. I provided the address and confirmed a day, only for him to say that day/time wouldn’t work and he would need to “look at his schedule.” Sometimes he would be “looking at his schedule” for several days before I heard from him again, only for him to AGAIN ask me about the project details (which we already discussed many times), and to AGAIN ask for my address (which I also already provided). This went on for several weeks, and there were many times I considered looking for a different company (which, in retrospect, I definitely should have done), but I persisted, figuring that I had already spent so much time dealing with this childish nincompoop, and that it would be a bigger waste of time to find another company at this point. He finally provided me with an estimate of $25k-30k for the project, which I agreed to. Eventually, he agreed to visit my house on May 22nd…almost an entire month after my initial contact. He was supposed to show up at 11am, but even after giving him my address several times, he got lost and somehow ended up in an entirely different city…How does that even happen? My address isn’t unusual, or obscure in any way. It’s a very normal address: it has a house number, a street name, a city, a state, and a zip code. The sole purpose of his entire job is to visit customers and get measurements, and yet he clearly doesn’t have the mental capacity to understand a simple address, or even how to use GPS. So, after giving him the address AGAIN, he finally shows up 90 minutes later. He spent the next hour taking measurements, and again told me that the price would be $25k-30k, which I again agreed to. He said he would get the measurements to his engineers, and would have the drawings finished in a few days. Fast forward to June 15th…Up until this point I had heard nothing from him, other than, “we’re still working on details” and that he would “figure it out soon.” He finally calls me and says that this project isn’t going to work…he claims that his engineers designed the pergola with “fantasy wood that doesn’t exist” (those are literally his words, not mine) and that the cost to build this “mythical structure” (again, his words) would be at least DOUBLE ($60k) what he originally quoted, and that he would need to come out again and take MORE measurements. This pergola is certainly no over-the-top project…Lawn Master SPECIALIZES in custom pergolas, and this ignoramus is telling me that my “mythical” project would not be feasible. Let’s back up for a minute here…this is his JOB, right? He must spend all day, every day quoting projects just like this. So how could he be so incapable of doing that job? If he actually thought that the scope of this project was too grand (which it certainly isn’t), then why didn’t he say something sooner? We have been talking about this project for 1.5 months, and he only starts to voice these concerns NOW? Not to mention, he has the audacity to blame his engineers. Maybe if he actually took his job seriously, and decided to be a contributing member of society instead of behaving like a degenerate, then he wouldn’t have wasted so much time. Clearly the job security at Lawn Master is phenomenal! Needless to say, the project came to a crashing halt at this point, and now I have to find another company and start from scratch. I advised him that his lack of talent in this profession should be the catalyst that he needs to pursue a career that better suits his talents (which I can only assume are quite minimal at best, but are most likely non-existent). To the owners of Lawn Master: I would strongly urge you to get rid of this bonehead. He’s rude, arrogant, lacks all sense of professionalism, and is completely worthless. The fact that he constantly referred to this project as “mythical” and a “fantasy” makes me think that perhaps he spends too much time daydreaming of his role as Dungeon Master, whilst playing a game of Dungeons & Dragons in his mother’s basement. Thanks for wasting my time, Jeff!

Fred was extraordinary in a number of ways. Most important, his design and execution/carpentry skills are top notch! He was on premises himself to assure quality control and the end product was exceptionally beautiful. This man is more of an artist than a tradesman, and his end product speaks for itself. Highly recommend him for anyone in need of a quality contractor.

Randy was responsive and communicated by text and visited the house in April. We looked at the project and he promised to get back with a bid. I texted him a reminder that we hoped to get a bid. He texted this back: "I'm getting them. I'm just a little busy to have gotten back with a bid." I replied back that we remained interested and asked him to "get back to us when you have time". We never heard back from him again. He seemed like a nice guy, but contractors waste valuable time when they don't follow up or give you bids - or say they don't think the job is for them. He just went into radio silence, or forgot about us completely.

VEGA LANDSCAPE

Vega did an excellent job with our backyard landscaping project. The project started on time and was completed in the expected 6-8 weeks. His team was very professional, arrived on time every day, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Vega handled all aspects of our project, including softscape and irrigation, hardscape including construction of water feature and fire pit, and landscape lighting. Craftsmanship and skill were excellent. Great value and would definitely work with again.

We knew Ray was our guy after our first meeting. He spoke our design language and we could tell he was up to date on trends. Ray has great vision and taste. He is friendly, knowledgable and fun to work with. Our project took 1 day for demo, and a little over a week for the construction, staining and oiling of the new pergola. We worked primarily with Luis, Francisco and Martin. The guys also had help from "Mini" on the heavy lifting day of getting the new extremely heavy beams in place. The crew was FANTASTIC! Both artists and craftsmen. They took their time to do everything right. We loved having them here, they were all friendly, polite and professional. They worked incredibly hard and even with the temperatures hitting into the 100's they always smiled. We were amazed how well they cleaned up at the end of every day. We are very thankful for the care... the love they put into building our new pergola. So will we hire them again, yep, we already have! We miss working with them so we are moving ahead on a retaining wall project with them. Their work really speaks for itself, just look at the photos. They built exactly what we had pictured in our heads. Thank you R&R!

Originally bought the deal because I had noticed some areas of wood rot in the back of the house. When the gentleman came, he said that the work would take 2-3 days. He offered me a deal on the work and we set a date. On The morning of the job however, his crew got into an accident on the way to the site. Scratch one day off from work. We rescheduled the work for the following week. 2 guys came and worked diligently over the next 2 days and got the work done. There were some strong chemical smells from the wood filler they used for a couple of days but I suppose that is to be somewhat expected. They color matched the original paint and repainted the work areas too. Overall the work looks professional. I wish it were a bit cheaper though.

Aztec Landscaping

Robert the owner is great. He was prompt and responsive to our questions the first time we met him to receive an estimate, other landscaping companies showed up late and never responded back when we had questions. He helped guide us with adding the patio and his pricing has been pretty competitive with other companies. He is still in the middle of finishing the patio, but he has worked within the timeline he gave us and everything has gone according to plan. I highly recommend Aztec Landscaping. They are great!

Recent Review: I used A-List Builders for my Bathroom Remodel and my bathroom is more beautiful now than I could have ever imagined... I met with Ben who gave me a free estimate for the job and knew right away that A-list Builders was the company I was going to use for the job. Their estimate was fair, and their communication throughout the entire process was fantastic. I always knew there was going to be someone else on the other line if I needed to get a hold of them for any reason. Their workers were true pros that did an immaculate job, excellent craftsmanship and very good at keeping the renovation area very clean. I absolutely love my new bathroom and have already recommended them to two of my friends. Truly a great experience!

Recent Review: Mike, Yani, and Jenny did a stunning turf job at our house. They came over and giving us a solid estimate. We had them out originally 2 months ago, and they still honored the quote for this month. We got about 650 sq/ft worth of turf for our backyard. Our house is a new house, so we had just dirt back there. We got a cement done and waiting two weeks they came out for the turf install. It took them only 1 day to get it done. Thank you HIC Builders. We do recommend them for sure!

Recent Review: I will start by saying that we are somewhat satisfied with the work they did. That said, they had to return as the drip timer stopped working after two days, which ended up being a faulty cable. We needed far more micro sprayers to cover all of the ground cover (several died in the process), and they kept coming back to adjust and install more emitters after we had paid in full. We discovered that they had completely buried a sewer drain clean-out in the garden, and even planted a shrub on top of it, and further they covered over the city water meter with decomposed granite with stabilizer, which is nearly like cement. I personally dug out the sewer clean-out myself, had the work done to raise it to grade, then replanted and temporarily replaced the drip lines. We are still waiting for the water meter to be uncovered, and will send on any bills to the company we may incur from the city. The workers have been very nice and accommodating, but our patience has run out. At this point, our contact is not replying to texts, probably to avoid a paper-trail. We have worked with landscape companies in the past, with excellent results and a very high level of service. We had a much lower bid from another company, but we paid MORE to go with Ariel, thinking we would get a higher level of service and attention to detail. We have been disappointed in the service and rather lackadaisical execution at the beginning of the project, and slow follow-through at the end. This was slated to be a three day project that turned into a three week project.

Recent Review: An absolutely delightful experience and wonderful craftsmanship! The team at YourDeckBuilder did a terrific job from the early planning and design phase through final deck completion. Even had a few minor follow-up items that they proactively scheduled with us and completed. Our project included one 21’ x 14’ redwood deck with pergola as well as approximately 90’ of wood and cable fencing. Matt helped us through design and cost options, the overall project process, and timelines. We looked at several deck providers, and YourDeckBuilder was very competitive and had some of the best crafted decks that we reviewed. During the fabrication and installation process, Gabor and Ralph were prompt, courteous, and very hard working craftsman daily. Also appreciated their communication and clarity on the the current week events and future activities. They were very collaborative in their approach and gave us ample advance notice to make decisions (deck coloring, seating arrangements, pergola slat spacing, etc) which made the process very comfortable and less stressful for us. I would certainly use the team at YourDeckBuilder again, and would recommend them for your future project.

Recent Review: I evaluated a few landscape contractors to install according to plan. I chose Wesley since he was personable and professional. He didn't necessarily have the best bid, but I felt other things such as supporting local contractors and quality and detail of work was equally as important. He was forthcoming about the start date being 2 months out, but I realized Wesley would be in the trenches with his crew and involved through the entire process. I found a pergola design online that my wife and I really liked and showed it to Wesley. Sierra M**** Landscape was able to match the design identically and also helped with the permit process. Overall the project was completed on time to projection. I found Wesley to be detail oriented and the newly installed concrete, pavement, landscape, and pergolas were done very well. I've had numerous compliments from friends and family and we absolutely love it. Wesley followed everything to plan or at least recommended better options. I would use Sierra M**** Landscape again.

Recent Review: With family coming into town over the holidays and El Nino on the way, it was a bad time to find out the house and yard drainage were damaged. I contacted several vendors to get the walkway concrete replaced. Clark Perry was responsive to my bid request, gave me an excellent price, and started the work on schedule. Quality of prep and work was excellent, the job was completed quickly, and the cleanup was amazingly thorough, with all work completed prior to family and weather arriving. I would contact Clark Perry again about any future work. The best experience I've ever had with a contractor.

Recent Review: I started with a backyard and two small side yards that were nothing but dirt. I didn't have a clear idea about what I should do with the space. Designer/planner Noa listened carefully to how I wanted to use my yard and then made some wonderful suggestions. I appreciated her professional input, and I also appreciated her willingness to take my suggestions into consideration. As we went along, I changed my mind about a few things, and both Noa and Victor (who supervised the construction) were totally accommodating. I felt confident that I was getting both what I wanted and what would look right. It was a pleasure to work with Noa and Victor. The workers they hired were also friendly and helpful. The project was completed quickly, faster than I expected. Family & friends who have visited and who have seen pictures make comments like wow, spectacular, awesome. That's how I feel, too!

Recent Review: I needed several carpentry jobs done. I looked at Terrence's portfolio and met him and was certain I wanted to hire him. His work is so detailed and perfect. In spite of my job being small in comparison to what I saw in his portfolio, he was willing to do it and I was eager to hire him. I think the window of time was about 2 months from an initial meeting with him to the completion of the job due to a delay on my part regarding starting. He was punctual, polite, reliable, trustworthy. It was a very positive experience from beginning to end. I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again and I have recommended him to others.

Not only was he very professional, and offered very fair pricing, but very flexible with time frame completion due to weather related issues (which halted the repair for a few days). As soon as the weather cleared enough to finish the job, he made it happen. He is very knowledgeable and safe when it comes to his projects. We are back to enjoying our patio, especially during this time of quarantine. I would definitely hire again!
