Excellent experience from design through construction. Jonathan and his crew are most accommodating and thorough. The work was done on time and to our complete satisfaction. We would definitely use him again and would recommend the company to anyone considering a remodel. We had a very small space to work in and have gotten the most for our money.

Tim was excellent. He designed the kitchen of my dreams. Tim made it easy and went out of his way to accommodate me. I was ready to sign the contract until I realized they wanted 75% up front. Although I have heard this is a common business practice with remodelers, I did not feel comfortable advancing that amount of money. I was worried about losing control of the project. That is the only reason I did not go with this firm.

Artistic Kitchen & Bath Design LLC

Description of work completed: I contacted Artistic Kitchen & Bath Design for a remodel of a 2k sqft condo I purchased. This remodel included removal of 1 wall between kitchen and living area, complete remodel of kitchen to include all new cabinets, counters, and rerouting of plumbing to move sink to new island. Built in buffet/wine fridge in dining. Remodel of guest bath and mater bath, guest bath had tub removed for stand up shower, new cabinets and counters. The master bath stand up shower expanded to include a little seat and old tub removed and soaking tub in its place. New cabinets and counters. Vinyl plank flooring placed in entire condo. Price: The ONLY item I would give and A- instead of A+ for, but it was only because I did have a lower quote. I had a total of 4 quotes, and this company was the last because it felt right. The company that gave me a lower quote, was not quite as organized and lacked something I can't quite put my finger on. Artistic Kitchen & Bath Design still had a very reasonable price for all the work done. They worked with me on my super tight budget. Summary of Experience: From start to finish, I had nothing but a great experience with this company. I initially spoke with Tim who was so pleasant to speak with, he then had his colleague Joanne come to my place to get an idea of what I wanted, once we settled on overall design of cabinets and work, their contractor Tony is brought in to quote the labor of the project. Here is where the 10+++++++ service comes in. I travel for work every single week so it was very important to have people I trust to come in and out of my home. I never once felt uncomfortable with them doing this and did not have to constantly check in on what was being done. Joanne was my rock through all of this. She went with me places to find materials, used her artistic eye to make recommendations on color, arterial combinations, always tried to find me deals and discounts (I was on an extremely tight budget). She kept in close contact with Tony weekly and always updated me on the progress. In all honestly, I would like to always keep in contact with Joanne because she is just a wonderful person all around. Tony, the contractor was always very honest, professional and kind. He loves his work, is meticulous and pays great attention to detail. He believed in getting things done right the first time. The project took a little longer than expected but I was okay with this because I know it was being done right and it was being done by one person, which I preferred over a lot of contractors coming in and out of the house. I did have bathroom tile I fell in love with, that after payment became on backorder. That delay was beyond their control and I did not want to pick new tile. Even though it took a little longer, it was more than reasonable considering all the work needing to be done. Again, I HIGHLY recommend Artistic Kitchen & Bath for ALL remodel projects you are considering. Not only for their work but for their stellar customer service. Check out their website for pictures. I will hopefully get some uploaded to this review soon.

Fairless Homes LLC
2.0
We purchased our home but had to leave town during its preparation for our move-in so that we could close down our MN home and prepare for the move to Las Vegas. Our selected closet contractor referred us to three generals. We selected Fairless based on price, availability and promises of performance during our complete absence from the city. Problems began when friends checking the house for us on their very first check reported that the contractor left our home unlocked, and we had previously notified them of neighborhood break-ins. Subsequent events showed us that supervision of subcontractors and employees was minimal to nil. Workers broke mirrors, a garage window (I didn't notice this until after final payment), a floor tile and medicine cabinets, and Fairless had left all this for me to discover rather than inspecting regularly and addressing the situations as they arose. At first I was even accused of having done damage, and I wasn't even in town! I had to argue to get the contractor to repair/replace some of the items. Some requested work had to be requested again (sliders missing screens) and at additional cost. I had to plead for a report on a water pressure problem. The painter did not perform as requested and made his own decisions about finish without consulting us or being checked by the general (we passed on this complaint, needing to move in). We were most dissatisfied with the carpet layers' work...they had not properly fastened the carpet at one slider door and had cut the goods too short in several places, leaving bad transitions to tile. The materials vendor explained how the work was not done correctly and connected me with a repair company. Fairless refused to offer corrective measures other than those suggested by the people who had done the damage. We now have to pay out of pocket to correct their sub's mistakes, our having no confidence in their sole solution; that was, to stretch the goods even with two tons of furniture and possessions resting on the carpet! This would leave weakened product and cause ripples across the room. To add insult to injury Lori refused to give me our lien waivers even with final payment and even though I had actually designed a way to accelerate their receiving my progress payments, and I was never late with funds. When I did not receive the lien waivers in a timely fashion as promised thereafter, I complained, and Lori was extremely rude. Finally, she sent me a copy set which did arrive. It was mailed in an envelope with a poor design for sealing. It arrived, miraculously, unopened, and I suspected the original mailing was probably lost because of the poor choice of envelope. Over two months after the original mailing, which was sent to the wrong address, I did receive the first envelope, which the Post Office had repackaged and forwarded to us. With better subs, more supervision, a customer-friendly office and a willingness to accept responsibility for problems they caused, Fairless might become an acceptable contractor, but it is far from that at present! The service address is different from the mailing address indicated for this review.

Designer Kitchens & Baths

I'm somewhat late submitting this interview (sorry Barbara). We actually started the project in the summer. We had Designer Kitchen & Baths come out and remove/replace the kitchen granite counters, sink, faucet, demo the existing laminate and tile flooring throughout the condo, install wood and carpet flooring, and install built in cabinets and counter tops for an office. They also did prep work on the existing cabinets to accommodate swapping out the old appliances for new ones. They did a great job. I'm not going to say that there weren't any bumps in the road on this project. There were, but we know from several remodel projects we have done in the past that that's to be expected. What sets Barbara and her folks above and beyond the other contractors we have had, is they fix whatever the problem is to your satisfaction without a bunch of grief. Overall, they were very punctual, clean, and did good work. As I indicated previously, our home is a condo and for these folks to complete such a big project without once ruffling the feathers of the HOA or our neighbors was quite an accomplishment. Alex, the onsite supervisor for the project was great. We have a second home in another state and were staying there off and on while the project was in progress. Alex called us on a regular basis with updates on the works progress when we were out of town. He even texted us pictures of how things were shaping up. Finally, Alex was upfront with us when mistakes were made. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciated Alex's honesty. Believe me, that's not something you usually see with contractors(at least in our experiences). In summation, Barbara and her folks did a great job. I would definitely use them again and refer them to my friends and family. Ron &Patti

’ve never had a contracting company follow up after completing a job until I came across Apex Construction. I found Apex on Angie’s list and after being burned by licensed contractors in the past, I hesitantly decided to give them a try. One project (pulling up old carpet and installing hardwood floors in two bedrooms, three closets and hallway) surprisingly led to others (upgrade of two bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room and installation of light fixtures throughout house). To my pleasant surprise, Apex Construction completed everything in my 2300 sq ft. home exactly how I wanted, in less than ONE WEEK. Mr. George and his team hit the ground running; earning not only my respect but a customer for life! I have not stopped raving about their work to neighbors and friends. Job. Well. Done!

Totally pleased with the job Designer Kitchens & Baths did on my house. Barbara stayed on top of the whole process and if I ever had a question or gripe, she would respond and take action immediately. Could not ask for anything more. Although I thought I knew exactly what I wanted, after working with designer, Aaron, I completely changed my mind on many things. Now I have a kitchen beyond my dreams. I had a hard time deciding who to use for my remodel, but I am confident Designer Kitchens & Baths was the absolute best choice I could have made.

Our experience with Barbara and her crew was excellent. We initially contacted her to redesign our kitchen. She came up with several plans and took the time to go though each option with us. Ultimately, we ended up combining a couple of the designs together. It changed the complete layout of my kitchen. They also removed a fireplace and replaced it with a new bar area. After we started the project it became evident that the prior homeowner took out a structural beam and my roof was starting to sag. Barbara and her team were able to come up with the needed solution. They took care of all of the details to get the problem fixed. Barbara was excellent with communication. She kept me informed on a regular basis as to what was being done. Even when there were problems or unforeseen delays, which always happens with major remodels, Barbara was able to find a solution and get the job done. Now we have a beautiful kitchen, brand new flooring throughout our home and a tasteful new structural support beam that looks fantastic and makes our home safe. I would not hesitate to use Barbara again in the future! Thanks! We now love our home again!!!

When we were ready to remodel our kitchen this year, it was comforting to know that we could rely on Gary Adams to handle the job. We had previously worked with Gary on a general update of our home that included flooring, paint, and ceiling fans and were very pleased with the process and result. His concierge design service removes the worry from a project as he coordinates all aspects from design to materials and installation, using trusted vendors and craftspeople. On our kitchen remodeling project, Gary did an excellent job of melding his design ideas with my suggestions to arrive at a look for the countertops and backsplash that complemented our existing oak cabinetry. Together we picked out beautiful granite slabs, selected new appliances, sink and faucet, and backsplash tiles from companies he has experience with. With his keen eye for design, Gary does an excellent job of pointing out the best choices at each stage of product selection. Perhaps the most exciting change was replacing the cooktop downdraft with a sleek vent hood that also provides light for cooking! Gary and Scott made this change happen seamlessly. Gary pays attention to even the smallest detail and follows up with craftspeople until all work is completed to the client’s total satisfaction. He is a delight to work with and we look forward to engaging his services to redo our master bath soon!

Recent Review: Chuck had already done work on our bathroom, doing the tile for the entire shower and the floor of the bathroom, and we knew we wanted to work with him again. His work was impeccable. He is very detail oriented and wasn't happy until the job was perfect. We already ordered the floor tile for the office and spoke with Chuck about using his services again at a later time. We reached out to him a couple of weeks ago and he took on our job. My husband and I did a little of the up front work to make it quicker, taking out the carpet that was there. Chuck handled the work quickly and efficiently. The floor is just as impeccable as the work he did in the bathroom. The transition between the office and the rest of the floor in the entryway is done beautifully. When we're ready, we will reach out to him again to do our guest bathroom.

Recent Review: After saving up for two years it was finally time to get the rid of the old, builder grade cabinets that I got with the house. Seems like most of my neighbors ran into the same issue. At first I went to Home Depot and Lowes since I figured that they are pretty much a safe bet. I got quotes from both (between $22K - 25K) and decided that before I make a final decision I should check out another place just to be on the safe side. I knew that there are a few cabinet places on Valley View and took a drive down there on a Saturday. I came across WCC on the corner of Viking and decided to give it a few minutes, I honestly didn't expect much. From the moment I walked in I was completely surprised, They have a beautiful showroom and the lady who greeted me was very helpful and professional. She did the demo and showed me how their cabinets are actually better than the big box stores and cheaper. I scheduled a free estimate for the following Monday. Tom came out to measure. Since we already had the other quotes and designs it was a super quick bid. I got a price that was way lower and for a better cabinet. Tom threw in a free sink, faucet, and handles for the kitchen. I ended up going with a nice quartz that they had on sale. They did their own design with the cabinets I chose and the quartz! We scheduled the delivery for the following week. I couldn't believe how fast the cabinets came in. We had a few small issues with some filler pieces that were missing and the wrong handles were delivered. Tom took care of that in a reasonable amount of time. I am very glad I found these guys. With the money they saved me on the cabinets I was able to buy my appliances. I will post a picture soon.

Recent Review: We used Fairless Homes to remodel our home over a two-year period. We started with removing the prefab tub and shower. The result was so nice it made everything else look shabby and dated. We followed with other major projects like the kitchen and all the flooring. We just finished the master bathroom. We removed a wall in order to make the shower larger and replaced the vanity with custom cabinetry and quartz countertops. A new wall was designed going into the bathroom with a pocket door for privacy. The result is a bright, clean and modern look that we are thrilled with. Each project was finished on time with minimal disruption to us. The owners RJ and Donna were so nice to work with. This is a company that still believes in doing quality work for a fair price. They believe in treating the clients with honesty and integrity. I highly recommend Fairless Homes for any remodeling project big or small.
