Provider claimed that the cost to install the boiler would be $500. This consisted of permits and government regulation papers that were needed (no such thing is needed in a residential property) and my boiler required "special" work to install. The $500 would have been on top of the $940 they would have received from my insurance company. Total $1,440. Also, when they called they said they could install the boiler the next day in the morning. 2 hours later, they had no time to install the boiler in the morning, only the afternoon. When I said I would ask for another company, they suddenly 'found time' to install my boiler in the morning...fishy, eh? Yes. They were incredibly quick to respond, call me and follow up. I have a feeling this is because they were trying to take me for a ride. Instead, I bought a boiler myself for $600, connections/tubes ($50) and my handyman installed it for $300. To Angie's List: I confirm the phone number you have on file is the one they called me from.
