Indianapolis Lightning Protection System Installation

Brett was quite professional and explained everything he was doing in a manner that was understandable and provided me great comfort. He arrived during the pre-established time frame, executed his work in a timely fashion, and we shook hands as he left the house. Great electrical experience.

I received a clear estimate. The work was done promptly and according to plan. The installation crew was very well informed and attentive to detail. It was obvious they knew their work thoroughly.

Shane showed up in the morning. Very polite and professional. I explained to him that lightning hit my next door neighbors home and caused damage to my home as well. Blew out my garage door opener, washer, microwave, modem, phone and all my light bulbs. I wanted reassurance that nothing was wrong with my electrical system and is the reason I called them out. He inspected all and advised that I had a GFI blown in my master bath and another outlet not working in spare bath because of this. Advised that he was pretty sure replacing the GFI would fix the spare bath issue as well. He advised the cost and made the replacement. He said all worked fine now. I would have never known this problem existed had I not called them out to inspect. I'm so glad now that I had them come out. Prior to hiring Ashpaugh Electric, I spoke with Brian. He was so very nice and explained so much to me about what lightning can do to a home. He was not pushy at all, explained to me what they will do when they come out and patiently waited for me to call back. I explained that I wanted to discuss with my Claims Adjuster first. He understood and agreed. He was so very nice and I appreciated his knowledge. Thanks, Brian and Shane! I appreciate your quality customer service.

That went very good. They did a good job the first time. It seems to work. We've had several lightnings and nothing happened. They didn't mind cleaning up after themselves. The price was pretty good.

Originally I considered making this a Do-It-Yourself project but am glad I hired Capitol Lightning instead. The installers do this work everyday and know how to mount the air terminals and conducting wires so the system is the least visible on the house. I also didn't have to risk falling off the roof!. Now when thunderstorms roll through the area, I feel more confident that the house won't get struck by lightning. If the house were to take a direct hit, the electrical charge would be directed safely to the ground. I no longer worry about an attic fire or blown out appliances from a power surge. Given how many house fires are caused by lightning, the cost of the system is well worth it! The peace of mind and safety of my family is an added bonus!

Company responded same-day to work on power outage due to nearby lightning strike. Steve was professional and explained problem. Company has a follow-up calling program to insure service was satisfactory.

He was very efficient, knowledgeable and treated the customer with respect. I would hire him again.

All in all, it went well. Jeff inspected our original system, and determined that a replacement system could be installed with the existing wiring. Before he recommended the new system, he worked hard to determine whether the old system could be repaired, but reported that the system was no longer available. He identified a suitable alternative with similar features that would accommodate the existing wiring, and ultimately replaced the entire system. I thought the price, responsiveness, and quality of his work were excellent. He was pleasant and easy to work with. He made a painful process (dealing with lighting damage) much less painful.
