THE GREAT INDOORS WOOD FLOORS INC

They did a great job. Installed new hardwood floor in our kitchen and threaded the new floor into our dining room that was already hardwood. Did a great job with the threading. I would recommend.

We had Rob install hardwood floors in our dining room. He had previously done the wood floors in our foyer, staircase, and hallways. He did a fantastic job as usual. Definitely recommend him.

Blakley's Flooring

Blakley's Flooring have a good reputation. The job they did for us was excellent. The installers were very, very knowledgeable about hardwood and how to install it properly. It was for two rooms. Their prices were reasonable. I haven't had any trouble with it since they installed it.

It went really well. They were thorough, and they left the area as clean as they found it. The workmanship, material quality, and price were all very good, too. The only concern is that there are a few knicks in the base moulding and door trim, but that is minor compared to the overall job.

We worked with Jean Keady. She was very professional, prompt, and did a fantastic job. We had a question concerning our billing, and she checked with the installers and took care of it.

Carpet Values Inc

We began the process due to an insurance claim with Rob. Rob was so helpful in helping us select a great product which met the needs of our household. He provided several options to help us choose what type of forever flooring we would have in our home. He explained the best product, the costs, the best way to clean it, and also the pros and cons of each choice available. We selected a beautiful hardwood and installation began about two weeks later. The install crew was great! They were so professional and very careful with our home. The finished product is beautiful, and the customer service was right on with what was promised! We would use them again with any flooring project!

Blakley's Flooring
4.0
Went to Blakely's to look at hard word flooring. Sales rep seemed to give the correct amount of attention and "alone time" to look at the product. Blakely's has some very nice but expensive hardwoods. Many of the less expensive products looked "cheap". Proposal was the highest of four we received and we weren't very excited about the product offered in our price range. The proposal included a $150 delivery fee to bring the wood to our house three days early to "acclimate" to our home - what? We did not get the chance to charge Blakely's a storage fee.

Tish Flooring
2.0
Our experience with Tish Flooring MANAGEMENT has been very disappointing. Tish Flooring claims on their website "a commitment to personalized service" among other things. My wife and I however, did not find this to be true. We contacted Tish flooring and the Tish sales representative viewed the flooring area, listening to our requirements and quoted the job. Our major requirement was that all tile-to-hardwood transitions would be level and seamless by using utilizing a header board as opposed to an unsightly length of T-mould. We were very adamant about the transitions because from our front door entrance, and anywhere else in the foyer, all three thresholds of this custom built home were clearly visible. Upon entering the front door, straight ahead is the entrance to our great-room, immediately to the left is the office with inward-opening glass doors. (Doors that could ill afford to have a t-mold strip between the doors and the floor.) To the right is the formal dining-room. The flooring we choose was an engineered hardwood product in variable widths planks, 4, 5 & 6". The flooring arrived and the installers began. They first tore out the existing carpet and kitchen tile and then the old sub-flooring throughout the first floor.. Tish Flooring then informed me that a completely new ply-wood sub-floor would need to be installed throughout the house in order for them to insure my request for level transitions. I was also informed that we would be responsible for payment of the sub-flooring up-charge. We had communicated this request for seamless/level transitions to Tish Flooring on several occasions before this stage and felt that the added expense of the new sub-floor should not be incurred by us. We desperately wanted to move forward and settled with Tish Flooring by asking that they split the up-charge with us. They agreed and things proceeded. When the great-room portion of the job was completed, they started installing the header for the first wood-to-tile transition. The installer took an 8' plank and customized it to fit a variable space from approximately 7.5' length to a variable width running width of 1 1/8" to 1 1/2". We were not super-excited that the first piece of wood you see in this beautiful floor was this a narrow header. The dining-room transition was next and that header seemed to be a full width and clean length but was a bit high. The office was the last room to be finished. We called Tish Flooring and Joe, the foreman for Tish installers, stopped by. We explained that there were three different treatments on each transition. We already had two visitors that week comment on the inconsistency of thresholds! Joe, said that T-moulds were the way to go. T-moulds are the easiest for the installer and the ugliest for the home owner. He also displayed very little compassion for our concerns and was more interested in telling us what was the usual default move. Joe, at this moment the representative face of Tish Flooring, was absolutely no help. Shortly after installation I noticed tiny pieces of wood in my office door threshold and discovered that the high hardwood edge going into my office was starting to splinter off. About a month ago I noticed larger pieces breaking away and called Katie at Tish Flooring, Katie handles customer service calls and assured me that the lead installer on our job would stop by and take a look. The installer, Sean, stopped by and said it would take a while to fix and would come back that Saturday. In the meantime, Joe, the foreman called and let me know that he had already been out to speak with me and my wife a few times. As if his presence should have been enough to satisfy us. Sean came over on his off day and repaired the damaged header. Looking at the header now, about three week later, it is still well above the tile line. Katy called me a week later to check up on the repair. I told her, despite Sean's best efforts, the wood edge was still high at the threshold. She was going to send Joe back out and I shared with her I preferred not to deal with him. She shared that she would send out Harry Tishler, one of the owners of Tish Flooring. We thought, finally, a resolution is in sight! After many false starts, and two and a half weeks later, Mr Tishler came with Joe in tow. He listen carefully and was very PC as he explained Tish Flooring's business policies. Summing up it was a "what we are obligated to do by contract and we decide what is correct" speech. He was polite and very magnanimous in his bearing. He stated that the height of the hardwood above the tile is well within the industry standards. I believe he referred to the National Wood Flooring Association guidelines and said that an industry flooring inspector would agree that the transition were within guidelines and basically, that's as good as it gets. He also said that Tish Flooring wants the customer to be satisfied and goes out of their way to make sure this happens - yadda yadda. Not so much in our case I guess. I offered a couple of ways to remedy the situation such as shave thickness off of the hardwood on the back surface and re-install. Or, cut the the sub-flooring down a bit by sanding or planing and feathering to the correct height, if necessary, with roofing paper to achieve level. He said both ways would possibly work but that would call for customized work and, although he could arrange for that, it would be up to us to pay for it - completely. At this point it was obvious we were at an impasse and nothing was to be gained from further discussion. All Joe really said the entire time was "this is like the fourth time I've been here". Unbelievable! The height of the hardwood in my office food threshold is variable. It crowns in the middle at 3/16". According to the National Wood Flooring Association, the guidelines are "make sure the customer is satisfied". The technical representative of the NWFA that I spoke with did share that they (Tish) should "make it right". He too had several techniques ways to make that happen. He stated that a T-mould definitely wasn't the way to go on a $13,000.00 flooring job. He said that Tish should contract with someone who could fix this problem if they didn't have the personal on hand to do so. I recently had an independent flooring installer in to do some work. I asked him blindly what he would do to remedy this transition. He said, "contour the back of the hardwood and re-install," it would take a couple of hours he said. I explained that Tish stated that such work was a carpenter's job. This guy said that is was a flooring installers job and he does it all the time! FOR THE RECORD. The actual installers they sent to our home were the nicest, most considerate team I have ever seen. They worked hard and did their best to get this job finished on time. They were professional and very neat. The lead, Sean, even came by on weekends to help tie things up. These installers deserve an A+. but can only do what his bosses will allow. Tish office personnel were also very accommodating. Tish Flooring wasn't the lowest quote that we had, but with the Angie's List endorsement, we thought they were they right choice. We want Tish Flooring to make good on their promise to keep the customer satisfied.

I had a nightmare experience. Very very very unhappy. It began very smoothly, fair price things like that. It turns out that some of the guys on the job needed a lot of supervision - tell them what to do and how to do it. The president of the company overcharged us and we had to renegotiate the bill - we paid the remainder and he tried to collect from us again. We had to buy the shoe molding and we knew the price of it. He told us it would be cheaper, he charged us triple. He kept trying to tell us we needed more wood after it had been measured and priced. He said he would return any unopened boxes and would credit us for it. He took the opened box we were told would belong to us. They were putting hardwood in the bathroom and they tore the wallpaper and said "what do you expect me to do?" I ended up having to have the bathroom wallpapered by someone else. Quoted at $9,950, paid $11,859.

Recent Review: Danny's crew did an excellent job and were very professional and polite. Danny originally estimated the job to take two full days, but he brought extra men along and completed it the entire job in one day. They cleaned up all of their materials before they left and Danny said I could call him anytime if I noticed any imperfections. All the neighbors loved his work.

Recent Review: We contacted Cox Hardwood Flooring in November, 2012 to get an estimate to remove carpet and install hardwood flooring in family room. Teresa contacted me promptly and Mark came out that week to give us an estimate which we received the next day via email. We ordered the hardwood ourselves so Mark and his crew did just the installation. They were prompt, professional and a pleasure to work with. Our new floor looks fantastic!

Recent Review: He helped us carry in the hardwood flooring. Which was a great help. He procceded to remove the old carpeting through out the whole house. When that was done he removed the old hardwood floor from the Kitchen and the hallway. This was a very hard job and he performed it exceptionally. He started flooring from the front of the house. He moved furniture when necessary. We moved all the furniture back to it's proper place. He aklso installed the heating vents to match our floor which was a wonderful addition. Overall the experience was great. He did a fantastoc job and I would recommend Palmer Hardwood floors to anyone.

Recent Review: Excellent. They were just fabulous. I wasn't sure if I want to replace it with carpeting or parquet. When I had her out she said "Do you want to put parquet"? and he ended up adding some parquet. Now it looks beautiful. They also did the kitchen, my kitchen needed sanded down and reapplied the stain, it matches with the new parquet they put it. The cost came below 2 other companies that I called. The quality of service, the knowledge and everything is way way above. Very honest and very professional, kind. I would recommend them to anybody.

Recent Review: We had moved out of our residence and was converting it to a rental property. After living there for ten years, the carpet was naturally shot. We met with Brian to go over options and pricing. Brian was very prompt and came out to the house to measure each room. I had a quote within 48 hours. He referred me to another company to select the flooring and carpet. Their selection was great, and very helpful. I'm a guy, and interior colors are not my strong point. Brian and the flooring company helped with interior paint colors and flooring options that would go well with the house, and to help it rent quickly. We had a deadline of August 1, and he was complete two days early. I was amazed at the job that he did, and the house rented immediately. The new tenants love the house, and we're happy how everything turned out! I would recommend Central Construction Group to anyone needing interior and exterior repair and remodel jobs.

What do customers in Indianapolis say about Hardwood Floor Installation?

They had to remove the alloy flooring and install a hardwood floor. They were basically four other rooms that already had existing hardwood flooring, and they scripted those standards. My house is now with hardwood flooring. They did all the hardwood flooring work in the kitchen, and they did a very good job. The floor still looks great. They were on time aswell. I am not too sure about using them again I may end up being biased towards them, so I might aswell use another company.
