During the 2 months after I got married in October and moved in my husband's home in December, there were a ton of plumbing repairs and renovations that needed to be done and there was always an awful stench in the house that we both always assumed it was something rotten in the crawl space. I called Ed Gregg Plumbing to actually get an estimate on something else. I had many different contractors giving me estimates on various things and he was the only one that as soon as he and a fellow plumber came in my house, they immediately mentioned we had a gas leak. He and the other fellow spent several minutes trying to locate the leak and they both confirmed it. He didn't even charge me for the time they spent confirming it. I didn't get an estimate at the time but I had a home renovations contractor already that said his plumber could look into it. He and other contractors I was using said their plumber either didn't have earth moving equipment to dig up rusted pipes under the garage concrete floor and through the crawl space, or have the gas company recommend someone to fix it. Well when I finally called Ed Gregg to come out and give an estimate, I was totally shocked that it was much easier and a whole lot cheaper than I thought! Instead of tearing out my garage floor to replace all the rusted rotten pipes under the cement floor, they simply ran a flex line from the gas meter on the side of the house, up through the attic across the garage and house and down to the furnace and water heater! I was so impressed that he was not only the only plumber that immediately noticed the gas leak, but also the only plumber that suggested using a flex line across the attic! There was a problem getting the gas man to turn on the gas because there were still leaks, but they came back out and patched up leaks on the pipes attached from the flex line to the furnace. The gas man still wouldn't turn on the gas, but he then patched up leaks on the old pipes attached between the flex line and the meter. That awful smell immediately went away and most importantly, the gas leak got fixed for a lot less work than we thought was needed. Since then, Ed Gregg Plumbing has done several plumbing jobs for me and he is the only plumber I trust who will come out quickly to give an estimate, and will do the work promptly and do it professionally.
