Home Remedy LLC
5.0
Revis from Home Remedy stopped by within a day or so; explained what they would do and gave me a competitive estimate. Several days later, Tony arrived on-time and was on the roof nearly two-hours doing the work. Everything went well and I couldn't be more pleased in the performance and professionalism of this organization. I highly recommend them

Weeks Service Co
1.0
WEEKS’ Service Company's FRAUD We have done quite a bit of business with WEEKS for years now-purchasing/installing new equipment, making repairs and improvements, as well as paying over $200/year for their “maintenance agreement”-where they would come out twice a year to maintain the A/C system in the Spring and the heater in the Fall. Last Thursday (12/2/21), Jesus came out to do the heater check, which shouldn’t have had any problems, since it was newer and installed by WEEKS. He, for some reason decided to check the A/C, which was not common practice in our experience. He came down from the attic and informed me that the evaporative cooler was rusty and had a leak. I told him that we weren’t having any problems with the A/C. He showed me pictures, but I could see no leak. He said that it wouldn’t last long and should be replaced, as well as all the ductwork. He never went outside to check the outside unit. He said someone would come out tomorrow to give me an estimate. Leigh came out early, and gave me an estimate for almost $7000. He went outside with no tools to “look” at outside unit, came back in and said it was “fine”, and didn’t need replacement. I called another HVAC company to come out and look at the evaporative cooler. They did, said it was common for them to get rusty, but there was NO leak. They went out and checked pressure on outside unit and said it was fine. Had there been a leak, the pressure would have been off, but it wasn’t. They also checked air flow from each vent and said it was fine. What Jesus did, with WEEKS’ support, constitutes fraud. I began to think back: (1) (in 2017) to being told that our heater wouldn’t last, and being sold the most expensive one that they had, which ended up being too big for the space in the attic (as per installers), and really doesn’t work well. This was “sold” by Anthony, who now has moved up in the company. (2) (2016) Len coming out for an A/C check, noticing that the pan was full of water, moving it, then leaving, saying nothing. A few days later water began staining hallway under attic. This water destroyed our plenum box. This cost us over a $1000 to replace plenum and pvc piping to carry overflow outside. (Thank goodness we had Mark, who tried to fix plenum, but it was too saturated, and got us the replacement for half off.) Len is still with the company, but in another capacity. Apparently, WEEKS “honors” those who “sell” new equipment, whether it is needed or not; something Jesus picked up on rather quickly. It simply boils down to fraudulent practices. We will never do business with WEEKS again. My advice would be to hire an HVAC person to come out once a year to check both your systems-someone you know and trust. Also, just as important, do your research! Google anything you are told is wrong, or any relevant question you may have. It’s online that I learned evaporative coolers normally rust, and that rust can be easily removed-enhancing the life your system, but apparently WEEKS didn’t want this done

BURNETT HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING SVC
5.0
Selected Burnett after receiving 3 bids to do work on a/c system. He was the least expensive and explained to my satisfaction what he planned to do. They arrived at 7 am and finished at 6 pm. Extremely professional worked non stop all day. Installed gravel pit for the a/c drain at no charge. Sprayed the heating vent coming out of the roof black just because it looked better. We will have Burnett do semi annual maintenance on the HVAC in both buildings

AUTUMN AIR

Carlos, a technician, who had been here before came out, evaluated the problem and suggested appropriate repairs. He said there is really not any maintenance that can be done on the coil as long as it works and it was not leaking! The leak was on the outside. They replaced the coil, not because it was bad, but it was old, replaced drain pans, raised the unit, put in remote switch to shut off unit in case of water overflow, and fixed outside part. Even though price was higher, we trust this company!

Republic Heating and Air

Our family's home's three HVAC Zone's 12 year old Natural Gas Heating Systems were checked for winter preventive maintenance. During the preventive maintenance, Bryne / Republic Heating and Air quickly identified that our family's home's three HVAC Zone's 12 year old Natural Gas Heating System's vent fan run capacitors were failing and far out of tolerance. As I'm familiar with electronics, Bryne showed me the metered readings of each of the three zone's failing capacitors as well as showed me the marked ratings for each capacitor as well as the listed / marked tolerance codes for each of the three capacitors. Lo and behold, Bryne was very much correct in the failing conditions of each capacitor -- in fact the capacitors were so far out of tolerance, it's surprising the heating vent fans were still working. But, 12 years is quite a long time for them to have not been replaced. So, it was definitely time to replace them. Bryne replaced the capacitors in a timely manner during the same visit and reported that everything else with our three heating zones appeared to be working properly. Additionally, Bryne wrote up three separate and detailed receipts (including make, model, and serial number) for each of the three HVAC Heating Systems that winter maintenance had been performed on (during the same visit) as well as detailed descriptions of the work that had been completed along with the specifications of the capacitor replacements (required / rated capacitance vs. measured), etc. Our family has used Republic Heating and Air in the past and we will continue to do so in the future so, not much more can be said about such a seamless maintenance and repair experience other than the maintenance and repairs were completed with the professionalism and courtesy that always comes to be expected when interacting with Republic Heating and Air. Customer service and satisfaction still appears to be Republic Heating and Air's motivation / goal and they met the mark once again! Thanks again for the great service Republic Heating and Air
Freddie, the owner, came out and inspected our system from top to bottom, and what problems he did find, he actually fixed them, instead of gouging us for new replacement parts. This is the kind of guy I wish I had working on my car, home, etc. He knows how to fix things and not just throw my hard earned money at new parts that might not even be necessary. I had them come out again to service my system. Once again, Freddie was on time, thorough, and professional. I highly recommend this company

Very well. A couple of challenges along the way -- I live in a older home -- but they cheerfully fixed everything that needed to be fixed. No surprise extra costs. When there turned out to be a small leak in the water line a few days later, they quickly came out and fixed it with no extra charge. Also, they're currently doing their cooler installations on Saturday. Interestingly, when I had them do an estimate last year, they were the highest of the three companies from whom I got bids. This year, they were the lowest
I tired to use they at my new house because we wanted to get an evaporated cooler installed. But they are no longer doing evaporated coolers. They are doing more Traditional Air Conditioners. They gave me a reference to someone else, which made me sad because they did such a good job, before. They did a great job

What do customers in Houston say about Repair Swamp Cooler?
I was making preparations to sell the home. The previous home owner had not run the air conditioning unit for 10 years. I wanted to make certain it was in good working order. I have a seasonal service evaporator cooler as well that served my cooling needs. He was very honest, knowledgeable and cleaned up after the job. John Demereckeris is the owner and the person who serviced my unit.
