Very impressed. Had an occasional very minor roof leak for some time, and dreaded calling a roofer, knowing they would charge me a fortune, and would try to sell me a new roof, neither of which I could afford. During last week's storm, it leaked a lot, so had to do something. Decided to call Tejas. Spoke with owner, Roland, explained the situation, and made an appointment. After conversation with Roland, expected to pay about $700 or less (assumed there would be some shingle replacement). Pedro arrived on time, and immediately found the culprit, a rusted nail whose head had rusted off, as Roland thought; Pedro was able to remove the nail with with two fingers. Pedro (who has been with Tejas for 15 years), decided there was no need to replace shingles, and took care of the problem with some silicone material. Surprisingly, Pedro hadn't even tried to sell me a new roof, so I asked him to take a look and tell me what he thought of the overall condition. He found several more rusted nails that were coming up (and were also leaking), and used the same process to repair them. He then said my roof should be good for about three more years, and charged me $175. I felt this was a fair price for the time spent, but had resigned myself to the assumption that no one would repair a roof for less than $500, and that I would surely get a hard sell on a new roof. Their honesty and fairness sold me. I will certainly consider Tejas when I do replace my roof, and have already shared my story about Tejas with two neighbors.
