We are over the moon with the results of this extensive remodeling project. This is our second project with Dwight and his team and we were just as thrilled this time around. Work started early November and we were substantially complete by Christmas, which was beyond what I had dared to hope for when we began. With a project of this complexity (to us at least), we were very lucky to have no significant issues. While no project is going to track 100% to plan, what matters is the approach of everyone involved when those things come up. We always felt in the loop and well-informed. Dwight stopped in or checked-in every day and made sure everything was up to his standard. Over the course of a project of this complexity, we had the chance to work with a range of excellent tradespeople: Mechanicals, Carpentry, Electrical, Siding, Insulation, Painting, Tile, Plumbing (I?m sure I?ve missed a few in there). We were happy with everyone who came into our home during the course of the project. While I could pick out many examples, there is one that best exemplifies that kind of diligence and quality that pervades all of the people Dwight chooses to work with. We spent a lot of time with the team of tile/stone setters. Matt and Silas were here almost every evening making sure the show-piece of the remodel looked perfect. We had labored over the choice of tile for several weeks and had a specific design plan in mind and on paper. Rather than just ?work to the plan,? Matt took the time to talk us through why we might not be happy with the layout we?d initially wanted and recommend some alternatives. We had inadvertently picked out tile too large to make the pattern we were hoping for. I appreciated that Matt took the time to explain why it wouldn?t be the best choice and was very patient while we decided which Plan B was the best one for us. In the end, it looks better than it would have had he not taken that time and effort. We definitely spent more than we had originally intended; but in the end we made the choice to go with confidence in the quality of what we were getting. We don?t regret the investment we made, and we wouldn?t have traded the team of people we had the pleasure to work with for any cost savings we theoretically could have seen with another contractor. We cared as much about the work that we couldn?t see, as we did about the cosmetic finishing, and we felt that Dwight shared that same perspective. Do it the right way the first time, and if there was a slip-up, take the time to make it right. The next chance we get for any significant home improvement, we?ll definitely be calling Dwight and his team.
