Grand Rapids Wood Fence Installation

We requested a bid from Ivan because of the great reviews we read on Angies List. On his initial visit Ivan worked with us to come up with a design that satisfied our needs. He was patient, friendly and very professional. He thoroughly explained the steps he would take and the approximate time frame. Once the project was started both Ivan and Toby, who worked with him, were very helpful and friendly in answering our questions. Both of their attention to details were great and the end product was fantastik. We were extremely thrilled with the final look. We would definitely recommend Metrofence to handle any of Angie's list subscribers who want one built.

They scheduled this as a 2.5 day job, with 2-3 workers there. First day they dug and placed all the posts. Second day they put up the chain link and began erecting the wood planks. The third day they completed the job as scheduled. They were neat, pleasant, and professional. The fence line rolls beautifully with the rolling land, with no gaps between the fence and the ground, as we requested. Every communication with us was prompt and clear, and they did exactly what they said they would do.

Ivan was very responsive and by far the best quote. He was thorough and explained the options. Our gate ended up sagging due to warping, but he came and repaired it as soon after we brought it to his attention.

Work went very well. Estimate was timely and around what we expected. Due to the number of people in front of us, we had to wait however, that was not a problem. Fence posts installed and the fence installed one board at a time. We love how Ivan paid attention to slopes and rises in the grade. Fence turned out wonderful. We are very happy with the fence and the work Metro Fence did for us!

High winter winds tore down part of my dilapidated privacy fence and the rest was hanging on by a thread. (The previous homeowner had been an ambitious DIYer and had done a mediocre job on the fence.) I called Ivan and set up an appointment for an estimate for the section that had fallen as well as the section between the garage and house. He arrived promptly along with a portfolio of his work for me to look at. We talked about the job, including permits and a variance needed for the second section of fence because of new city codes. The email estimate arrived and I scheduled the work to replace the section of fence that would not need a variance. Because of inclement weather, the job was pushed back slightly. When they arrived, there were several inches of snow on the ground as well as what the neighbors piled up against the old fence. Ivan asked where to pile the snow before starting. Once the snow was moved, the old fence was torn down and the new fence went up quickly and efficiently. (Metrofence custom builds the fence as opposed to installing pre-built sections.) They hauled away the old fence as well as some pieces of old lumber that had been partially buried along the fence. After the fence was completed, Ivan asked me to inspect the work before asking for payment. He also let me know that he stands by his work and to contact him if there are any issues. The fence is sturdy and looks great! Now that the snow has melted, I can also see that there was very little disturbance/damage to the grass on either side of the fence. If it weren't for the new fence, I wouldn't even know they'd been there. I plan on contacting him when I'm ready to replace the other section of fence.

It is the prettiest fence you will ever see, they have done fences for years. They have run into every problem so they know what they are doing if you run into a problem. I have a neighbor who is very high maintenance and they were so accomodating to her and did everything possible to not aggravate her. Fence Consultants' clean up was great too!

I'd never heard of Metrofence before, but read several very positive reviews about these guys and what a quality job they do. That sold me on them.. so I called to get a Quote. Ivan and Toby stopped by.. checked things out. Ivan made the suggestion to tear down all of the chain link fence and also my neighbors side fence (which was up against our chain link fence) and replace it with one new fence (hadn't thought of that, but talked to my neighbor and he agreed it'd look much better doing it that way). Got my estimate a day or two later from Ivan which was close to what I expected, so we hired them. They worked Tues afternoon thru Friday. and put up a top quality cedar fence..built on site. Ie., this wasn't pre-made panels, they nailed each and every board to the fence and made sure it followed the slope of our backyard. As Ivan predicted, this fence absolutely transformed our yard. I wasn't even aware of how bad it looked with all the 2 foot weeds buried in the chain link fence until this new fence was up. All I could say was and quot;wowand quot;..it now looks like a park! What a difference! Toby and Ivan are two hard working guys. They pay attention to details and do it right. They are very meticulous.. and tidy.. they did a nice job cleaning up.. hauled away all the old fencing, spread excess dirt around... I didn't have to do a thing afterwards except admire our new fence. Both of my neighbors let us know they thought it looked great and commented on the and quot;qualityand quot;. We are very happy we went with Metrofence to have this fence built. The final cost was spot on with the estimate. No surprises.

I was having issues with a neighbor after a land survey was done and well sometimes fences do make better neighbors. I explained the situation to Ivan and he was very professional and considerate. Him and his assistant were extra careful when working on my neighbors side of the fence so not to ruffle anymore feathers. The fence is wonderful! They did a fantastic job with everything! My other neighbor was so impressed that she hired them to install the same fence in her yard. I will definitely use them again!

After having a bad experience with another fencing company, Fencing Consultants came in and saved the day. They squeezed us into their very busy fall schedule and the fence was built very well. There were just a few minor things we weren't happy with but they came right back and fixed them for us. Joe, our contact, was professional. We did have a little difficulty getting a hold of him sometimes but overall we were very happy with the process and the job they did. We have since decided to finish off the 4th side of our yard next spring and we will definitely have Fencing Consultants do the work.

They are an excellent company. The price fair, they were not inexpensive. It was good value for the quality they provided. We decided to pay a little bit more because of the quality of the material. They don’t get another construction company to put the fence in. They have their own trained personnel that put the fence. They are very knowledgeable in what they are doing.
