Perkins Custom Remodeling
Simply put -dealing with Ted Perkins is a pleasure. His firm did two small jobs for us, much smaller than his typical major remodel. Nonetheless, he treated us as if we were a big customer. Timely quote, accurate understanding of the problems involved and very good solutions. His crew arrived on time, did professional work, cleaned up after themselves, were pleasant and courteous to deal with. Hanging the screen door install was more of a challenge than you might think. We wanted it at a particular angle to connect with the corner of the house and an existing deck beam. The carpenters built models and moved things around until they got something they liked, asked for my approval, then finished the job to perfection. We couldn't be more pleased with the results

lwe will most definitely hire him again. He was very professional, and did a very good job. He picked up set aside the replaced doors in the garage. He forgot to install one of the angels he had to remove to install the front door, but that is a minor issue.

Avalon Building Concepts
It went great. I had ice building up on the edge of my roof and causing damage inside my house. I called Avalon and Larry came out within a day to take a look. It is still really cold so the ice isn't melting. He told me he could schedule the work for the following week. 3 days later he was having the work done. He gave me a discount because of the time of year (not a lot of roofing going on in Michigan in February) and he gave me the top of the line warranty, the Golden Pledge Warranty. They were very professional and clean. No mess left behind. Larry always answered my calls and followed up on any questions. He is even going to help me fix my front screen door. I was scared because I am a single woman and was afraid of being taken advantage of, but he is an honest guy and did well by me. I would recommend them to anyone. The one warning I want to give is don't have your roof done if there is snow on it. The snow has to go somewhere and since it is currently icy, I can't shovel or snow blow it out of my drive. So, I can't get into my garage. I'm hoping it warms up enough to melt some more and hopefully I'll be in my garage before the week is out. Today Larry himself came over and actually shoveled my driveway! Also they do other work like windows and siding and I had mentioned needing a new screen door. He said he'd fine me one at his cost and even have his guys install it. It is RARE that someone goes above and beyond like he did for his company

We were scheduled for 8:00AM on Thursday morning. We were called a little before 8:00AM and told they would late. They showed up at around 9:00 AM did all they said they would do and were gone about noon. My wife and were VERY happy with their work and the results.

The guy called my home days after I requested service through company. I told him my name, by the way, I used my nickname, which isn't ethnically sounding, and told him exactly what I was looking to get a quote for. He came out that same day and my significant other greeted him and showed him and the gentleman with him what exactly we were looking to get done. He gave him the card and said oh i will get a quote to you. I never heard back from the guy and was going to find someone else. Then I get this email last night and remind you this guy new exactly what needed to be done prior to coming out and if he thought it was too much at time he could have said it than instead he sent this email days later: "After considering all of the factors involved in working on your house I have decided not to give an estimate for me doing the work. 2 factors: 1.I am 74 years old and no longer climb to 2 story heights. 2.The job is more than we can handle at this time. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks, Randall Meyer HMS." Entire email. no greeting no nothing. This leads me to believe there were other motives for not wanting to do the work. Anyone of color I recommend either asking for a minority contractor or making sure the contractor who is assigned to you doesn't have any issue with working with people of color. I can't say for sure that was the reason but all of this is fishy considering all the facts. Extremely not happy and wasted my time

Renewal by Andersen of Grand Rapids
Our patio door in the lower level was rotting and needed replacing. We called Renewal by Andersen and Pella Windows. Andersen was less expensive and the product was top notch. They had to replace the door in the middle of winter and did so within the day, and also, was able to match the trim paint exactly to what was existing. We are very pleased with the work performed. Given our experience with them we asked for a proposal in May 2011 to install permanent windows in our screened porch. In the summer of 2011 we had also talked with several other window companies about installing windows. We received quotes from four other window companies. Although Andersen was not the least expensive, the quality of the windows in addition to our prior experience with them, helped in the selection of them to install the windows in our porch. This required them to remove railing and screem and to fit new awning type of windows. We could not be more pleased with the level of service received from the Sales person Randy Stucky and the installer, all who were very professional. The work was excellent! In fact a month later we had to have them out to fix a window which needed adjustment. We called at 8 :00 AM in the morning and by 8:15 AM a service person returned the call and was there at 8:30 AM to make the necessary repair. They use technology to monitor incoming calls and can respond in a very fast manner. We are extremely happy with them and are most glad we spent the extra money to have them install our windows
