Estimate was given, price to remove 6 trees with stumps and haul off wood and debris: $ 3,975 Estimator returned with "revised" estimate claiming that he "forgot there were six trees and thought there were only five." $ 5,175 $3,975 divided by 5 (trees) is $795 per tree. The revised estimate was $1200 more for one "forgotten" tree, not $795. Come to your own conclusion based on these facts

BRYANTS TREE SERVICE
Job was performed very well following my instructions. Called on Wednesday and scheduled appointment with Mike on Friday. He called on Thursday and was able to come that afternoon. He gave me an estimate for the following work: 1. Trim a large weak branch off a limb of old Modesto Ash in the front yard. 2. Trim the branches on the street side of another Modesto Ash to re-balance the tree. A limb had broken on the other side and had to be trimmed of the damaged branches. 3. Trim a smaller third tree that had grown tall and lop sided due to being shaded on one side by a massive eucalyptus. 4. Remove a massive twelve foot stump of a fallen eucalyptus left by the county after clearing the street of the debris. 5. Removed the top half of a dead tree in the back yard that might fall on the garage. This was requested after the trimming was almost done. A crane was used for the tree trimming. The stump had to be cut into four sections and lifted onto a flatbed trailer. All the debris was either put through the trimmer or raked up and hauled away. Work started on a Wednesday the week after I called. Started at 7:45 AM and finished by 11:00 AM. All work was done as requested

Cobb's Tree Care
Both tasks were performed adequately and quickly with no damage or problems. There was minimal cleanup after they left. They cooperated when I asked them to take down a few more small branches after they were done. Very reasonable pricing and a job well done. The only negative was it took them a week longer than quoted to show up. There were some rainy days, and then they were busy with another job and showed up at my house when that other job was done. They did call me to let me know that the scheduled day would be moved, and they called again before they showed up

The original estimate was $2,650, but while they were here we negotiated on removal of the Palm tree, additional stump removal and pruning. Scheduled the job for the next week (called and met on a Thursday, took out the trees on Monday). J & L Tree Service
Jessie said he was experienced and knew what he was doing. With the tree that was pruned, several large branches snapped off days after he left. The tree was obviously pruned incorrectly and posed a dnager to people and cars parked nearby. With the tree that was removed, he said he would apply a chemical stump remover - he did NOT. I called him several times to ask him about it, he said he would come back. He never did. Eventually, he got tired of me calling and said he was NOT coming back. He did NOT finish the job. Since he had the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) symbol in his ads, I reported him to ISA. They had never heard of him. He was fraudulently using the symbol to fool the public. Also, I selected Jessie because there was a coupon in the ad. Jessie would NOT honor the coupon. He did not give a reason

He told her that he wished she had said something earlier, did not revise estimate to provide discount. Crew came out and had completed the job in record time, cleaned up the site and was professional. Will use this service again if needed

After receiving 3 estimates on the same job, we found L. Elene's to be the most reasonable cost and the only one that was bonded, insured and confident that there would not be access issues. The initial estimate was just on the backyard tree, but after learning of the reasonable cost, we inquired about removing the front tree. They went over that day (again) and gave us a second free estimate. Due to my own scheduling issues it took a few weeks to work out perfect timing, but they were very flexible. The morning of the removal the company said they would be there by 9 am. They were there at 8:30 and had the front yard tree gone, stump grinded and all, in 2 hours!! The backyard tree was next to a fence and draped over both our roof and the neighbors yard and pool. They took great care making sure that nothing was damaged or harmed. The backyard tree made a giant mess and they cleaned up so you could barely tell they were there. They used a blower to clean both the front and backyard and left my yards in great condition. I will happily use this company again if needed and readily recommend them to others. The Angie's List discount was a great perk too!

Very well. They came out the same day I called and quoted 2 days for all of the work. We hired them and they started work a few days later and were finished in only 1 day. Every time I turned around another tree was gone. They were very careful to avoid our house as well as our neighbors' houses. We have used Cobb's Tree service for many years. A neighbor was upset about leaves on her lawn and in her gutter. Steve Pickett from Cobb's Tree Service came out and inspected the trees, and arranged for pruning to be done within two weeks. We were given information about California laws with respect to large trees, and they sent us a letter to share with our neighbor. The folks at Cobb's are strong advocates for homeowners with tree issues, and, more importantly, they are advocates for the trees. Rather than chopping the trees back to the property line as our neighbor would have liked, the trees were carefully pruned back in a manner that promotes the health of the trees while addressing our neighbors concerns. He is very good and punctual. He is inexpensive. He has very good prices. He has done a lot of work for me over the years and he has come back and forth and pulled out huge trees. He has turn out bushed and trimmed trees. Every time they get over grown I call him and he takes care of it. The last work they did was quite messy. We have used them for many things over the last 17 years. He is very good and sticks to his price point. One thing that he does not do is give you a written estimate. Some people may not like that. However, he adheres to whatever he says. He cleans up everything. He will cut the wood for fire wood if you want. He has shipper that he brings to clean small shrubs. He comes when he says is going to come

The work crew arrived on time and were very friendly and polite. We went over the work to be performed and they went about their job. They were very careful not to damage any surrounding foliage while removing the trees. Afterwards they did a very good job of cleaning up and were done in approx 3 hours. The 60' Italian Cypress presented the greatest challenge as it was in the back yard, next to the fence and had to be climbed but they had no problem removing it in sections without doing any damage. If I need any tree work done in the future I will definitely use them again
