Our home is over 100 years old, 2 story, rather steep pitch to roof. We installed a roof over one small area of an upstairs porch and it needed to have a compound angle which Ralph (the owner of Kingsburg Roofing) was able to creatively help us to construct so that it would drain properly. Problems with his responsiveness started at the beginning of his working on the roof 4 YEARS BEFORE COMPLETION. We had hired him to repair/re-roof 2 areas of roof, one over the front porch and the other over the bathroom (both of these areas are single story, the remainder of the house is 2 story). When he gave us the estimate for these 2 areas we also had him give us an estimate for the entire house as well as our tank house. We agreed to the price for the first 2 roofing areas and when we saw the quality of his work agreed to have him do the entire house and tank house. Partial payment was required to pay for materials but early into the job (he had done only the 2 initial areas and the tank house) he requested an advance for a project he said he was doing on his home. My husband paid him nearly the full amount of the estimate. That is when the delays started. Long story short, he had one excuse after another for not coming back to complete the job - family deaths (2 different ones), illnesses, daughter wedding, grandbaby being born, crew gone to Mexico on vacation, etc. IT TOOK 4 YEARS TO HAVE HIM COMPLETE THE JOB!!!! Meanwhile we had water damage to our walls and ceilings inside the house from the old roof leaking, for which he took no responsibility. He also kept adding to the estimate so that in the end we had paid about $3000 more than originally quoted. I do think he did a good job but the frustration of waiting 4 years to have it completed was not worth it. Also we then had to deal with repairing all the water damage inside, something that we are still working on ourselves.
