Slow, Poor customer service. And had to listen to the same bad jokes on hold each time. Replaced window seems fine. Install job when they got here seemed competent.

From the first contact to the finished job everything was fantastic. Owner, Armando, is cooperative, polite and trustworthy. He answered all questions and concerns patiently as we took a very long time to decide to install the widows. He completed all work promptly. The windows are a huge improvement to this older house. The price was very competitive

JZ gave us a bid for those windows, and asked if they could also provide a price on replacing all the windows in the house. While we didn't go that route this time, we will when we have the funds next summer. The estimate for the whole house was surprisingly affordable. They are professional, installed the windows a week ahead of when they thought and did lovely work. They even removed and re-hung a stubborn window covering that didn't cooperate with us. They were so clean with their installation that you couldn't tell they'd been there - except for the lovely new windows!. We liked that they gave us a choice of two different grades of windows while the other company offered just one. We went with the higher quality window. We look forward to having them back to do the rest of the house in 2012

It's a LONG story, but let me state that this contractor had to be constantly monitored. Workmanship was substandard in many areas, but also did just enough to pass County inspections. I had to constantly monitor his work and that of his subcontractors. He would provide or accept substandard work unless he was called on it. The absolute worst part of this entire project was that it took Sierra Custom Homes 1 1/2 years to build a 800 square foot structure and install replacement windows. Contractor would continually provide project completion dates which he did not keep and he was not honest, e.g. he'd say the supplier lost the order when it had never been placed, etc. It was very frustrating and stressful. It was the longest 1 1/2 years of my life. I finally had to file a complaint with the State Contractor's Board and the Better Business Bureau in order for job to be finished

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO BE THE VERY BEST AT WHAT THEY DO. WHEN POSSIBLE, I WILL HAVE THEM DO MORE WORK I.E. SIDING. YOU WILL NOT REGRET HIRING THEM.I have had substantial work done on my house over the past 15 years. It is an older home built in 1949. My windows were so damaged, I just couldn't face trying to get a decent paint job again (if that were even possible). I had an estimate done several months ago;however, I told the company that I was not in a position to do the work at that time. They respected that and did not hound me. When I finally had the money together, I asked for a new estimate as I decided to do all the windows, including the wrap on the frames. I ultimately decided on the medium priced windows, single hung that enable me to tilt them for cleaning. You must understand, I am very particular when it comes to windows. Why do people build or buy beautiful homes and install track type windows with the ever present mullion. I did not want to change the integrity of my home. I cannot say enough about the windows (which were custom made in Clovis by Anlin, my sales rep, the installers, a truly professional caring group. I am pleased way beyond my expectations. The wrap even includes the original curvature of the frames. Some windows look totally out of place on a house, these do not. NOT ALL REPLACEMENT WINDOWS OR INSTALLERS ARE CREATED EQUAL - NORTHWEST EXTERIORS IS A TRUE GEM!!!!

I've got to tell you, these folks are a class act; from the owners, to the office management, to the measurers, to the installers. I was hesitant about contacting any company for such a big job but knew it was necessary. Before my research I didn't know any of these folks, nor did I, (to my knowledge), know anyone who had done business with JZ Construction. (Prior to my being a member of Angie's List), I researched JZ Construction on line, with the BBB, met & spoke with the owners of JZ directly then checked up on them by speaking with the production manager of the manufacturing company whose product I wanted JZ to install. (I also checked out other companies & manufactures of competing product lines.) Why did I choose JZ Construction? After doing my research, along with the personal care JZ invested in me, I knew there was no one else with whom I would feel so comfortable about doing the job. I was very pleased to work with a local business; rather than some large company or "big box" chain. I feel there is better access and more accountability for a local businessperson/ company. I am not the most trusting person and am careful regarding my personal security and with whom I allow access to my home (to put it mildly). JZ informed me their employees undergo a solid background check (or are bonded; I cannot remember which - it might be both). Anyway, any anxieties that might have lurked in the recesses of my mind vanished when the project manager met me at my house early one morning before I left for work to take final measurements prior to the office ordering my desired windows & doors. (Before any final order is placed 2 different people from JZ come to the house to take measurements.) JZ worked with my schedule and let me know what to expect in the process. They came out to my house to view the existing windows/doors & structure and to let me now which products could likely work best. They gave me brochures of the product, explained the warranties, and let me roam about their showroom looking at examples. The folks at JZ were exceptionally patient (and understanding) of my multitude of questions, e-mails & phone calls and popping into their office/showroom unexpectedly, and, of course, my changing parts of my order because I thought I'd like to try a few things different from my original plans. JZ answered all my questions and never hedged with a response. So, what did JZ install? (2) garden windows (custom-sized), (2) double-hung windows, (4) horizontal slider windows, (2) privacy glass horizontal windows, (1) privacy glass (non opening) slender picture window, (2) sets of gorgeous French doors (which replaced 2 horrid, noisy sliding glass doors), and the piece de resistance is a glorious 500 pound custom bay window with etched border. (That alone took 4 men and a small lift!) As an extra measure, overnight JZ had constructed for me (2) oak corbels to be placed on the exterior of the house under the bay as an added safety/stability precaution - this without my having to ask and at no additional charge to me. They really do think of everything! Teri Z. also dropped by in the middle of the project to check up on things and her crew; she cares about their safety as well. (JZ also had the security system folks, (who had installed security on our property), check out the system to make certain it would function properly with the new windows/doors, (2) sets of retracting screen doors (for the French doors) installed and had a painter come in to finish the ledge & "ceiling" portion of the huge bay window.) By the way, we thought this project might take 5 days & the job was finished in just under three. Owners, employees & staff? Joe & Teri Zingarelli, can't thank you enough! What an absolute pleasure to do business with you and your employees. Heidi Graham - office manager without parallel; so patient with a good sense of humor. The crew are the BEST - Bryan, John, Mike and Juan - talk about a terrific group of men! Courteous (if they ever cursed, and they had plenty of reason to on this project, I never heard a peep of foul language from any of them), skilled, good humored, timely, cleaned up after themselves as they went along. (Have never seen any construction project so clean at the end of each work day!) What these men do is give value; they are a critical aspect of this project. I respect each of them. Regrets? Absolutely none! I recommend JZ Construction to anyone who is thinking about installing windows/doors in one's own home

We had obtained two prior bids and saw their sign on a neighbor's lawn so decided to get one more bid. The owner, Joe Singarelli came to our home and made his presentation. He did not give too much information but he provided all the answers to our questions and did not give a "hard sell." He left the decision as to whether to use their services up to my wife and myself and did not harass us with follow-up calls. His estimate was $2,000.00 less for a better window replacement (one of our estimates proposed using the Anlin windows, but a construction grade window not the better grade). I then went to the neighbor who had used them and he told me that he was extremely pleased with JZ and that he would use them again when he replaced additional windows in his house. We decided to go with them and arranged our own financing which gave us a 5% discount and they gave us a date three weeks later for the installation. They actually were able to accommodate us sooner than expected and came out and completed the installation in a day and a half. Their crew was fabulous, each member came into the house, introduced themselves and asked permission for using the bathroom and took time to explain what they were doing. They put down tarps and we found little if no dust or mess when they were finished and they went through and explained the operation of the windows and benefits and care for them. We were absolutely pleased with their performance. Upon completion my wife noticed two small manufacturing flaws in the screens (not the fault of JZ Construction), when I called to see what should be done to repair these, the immediate answer was that they would replace them and made the arrangements to do so. I would absolutely use them again if I needed replacement windows. Fortunately these window have a lifetime guarantee for both breakage and installation so although I will be using JZ if a baseball goes through the window, I won't be paying for it

Doing business with JZ Construction is a no brainer. You are always dealing with the owners, as the face of the business, Joe comes on site to assess and make suggestions, and then his wife Terry is there at the office in Clovis to further assist you in selections. My first experience was in 1991 with JZ Construction. Dual pane windows were replaced in my personal residence in Clovis. Smooth installation and at the right price. Single pane windows needed replacement on a rental rehab in the Tower District in Fresno. Joe was instructed to deliver a "value" product as it was a rental. Again, spot on. Time line and budget were adhered to. In 2012, t he real fun with JZ Construction began. I asked Joe if he would consider replacing windows, and putting in a French slider on my beach house on the Central Coast. His immediate response was, "When do you want to meet?" We drove over together and at one point, I had to pull over and get under control from him making me laugh so hard. He did his measuring thing, took pictures, and we returned. Terry and I met at the Clovis showroom and she made wonderful suggestions. "Windows are Windows". Not true. It was her idea to blow out the wall in the downstairs bedroom and put in a "French slider". Her idea made a downstairs dungeon room into a beautiful "Garden" view retreat. Her ideas on creating privacy in the bathrooms with "rainwater" glass (I hope that these are the right words) from elevated houses with direct views was the right choice. When I am in my " office", I like privacy and she got it. On this project, I never signed a contract and was given general figures. A key was given to Joe and he was instructed to do his magic. The bill was submitted to me and the check was written. When I went to the Coast to see what was done, I was delighted to see what was performed. They could have charged several thousand more and I still would have been pleased. Several months later, I call Joe and tell him that I have replaced the screen doors to the sunken patio and pool area on several occasions. The JZ solution was "Phantom screens". They were immediately installed, and now I have clear views, no one is walking and bending screens, and I don't have to hear that anyone has had too much that night. I can thank the JZ team for fantastic ideas, incredible performance, and doing business the old fashion way. They do it right, and make you feel like family. We were very pleased with how they performed. We bought the doors and windows. We spent a total of $4,000 for the price of the windows and doors including the charge for the installation. They were very professional and very thorough as far as presenting what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. They proceeded to do exactly what they had said. They gave me a time frame of how long they thought it would take and it was very close to that. I could not have been more pleased with how it all went. I only did a portion of my condo and if I do the rest of the condo with additional windows, I would definitely use them again
We had a strange 3-panel sliding door where the center panel is the one that slid open; the two outer panels were stationary (I think this is termed OXO). We wanted to replace this with a two-part door (one stationary panel, one slider) but we wanted it to fit within the same "hole". As it turned out, the Anlin Malibu line included a door that would fit without having to resort to special ordering. The door has the same brick molding on the outside as the Anlin Catalina windows we also installed, so it looks very nice. The inside has a very nice molding which hides the original door frame. The installer was able to remove the original sole plate, so the new sole plate goes right on the floor, reducing the height of the threshold. The door feels very well built, solid and looks very nice. The only downside I can speak to is that when you close the door, it wants to bounce back open (ever so slightly) and then the lock cannot engage. You need to be careful when going that last fraction of an inch so it doesn't "smack" against the frame and bounce back a little. It would be nice if the latch mechanism could reach a little bit and then pull the door closed. I'm only talking about a fraction of an inch here - no more than 1/8" for example
The personnel at the office made a good estimate, and sent a worker to investigate. Investigation proved the office estimate to be accurate. The work was scheduled and completed within a few days. Were very pleased with the workers and the work done. Basically the job was to remove and replace the bottom track and the wheels on the bottom of the sliding glass door
THE WINDOW IS BEAUTIFUL. WHENEVER FRIENDS ARE HERE WE GET NON-STOP COMPLIMENTS ABOUT IT. THE PEOPLE WHO INSTALLED IT WERE VERY POLITE. WHEN THEY WERE DONE THEY EVEN CLEANED IT FOR US.

I am very happy with the windows Northwest Exteriors installed. The process was fairly painless from the initial sales appointment (with moderate sales pressure - nothing out of the ordinary for this type of project) to the install. They completed the installation in one day and worked very efficiently. The crew was friendly and polite, and they were very careful to put down tarps and take off shoes when working in the house. They cleaned up pretty well at the end of the day; the inside of the house was very clean and there were only a few scraps and minimal stepped-on landscaping outside. I have been extremely happy with the windows over the last year with noticeable improvements in temperature inside the house, and the windows open and close easily. The bay windows are beautiful

What do customers in Fresno say about Bay Window Installation?
I was pleased with the profession work they did. The workers showed up on time each day and worked steadily throughout the day. At the end of each day all work areas were cleaned up and they explained when they would be back. I have an alarm system and was not sure how it work after replacing the windows, JZ provided me with a name a phone number of a local contractor who could upgrade alarm. So not only did I get great service I also got a great new alarm company in the process. JZ coordinated the work with the alarm company and it was effortless for me. When the window instillation was completed all were inspected and touched up so when the contractors finished they did not have to come back for follow up repairs. My favorite part of the job is how great the products are, I had a decrease in my utility bill immediately. I have had the windows going on 3 years and they have paid for themselves in savings. I especially like the fact that I was dealing with a local company instead of the big box cookie cutters.
