They acted very professionally, came and saw the environment. We have an existing gas trunk line sufficient to support the cooktop, and an easy walk out attic, with good access to the area where the gas line would need to be installed. After hearing their estimate, about $1850 to run a single 25' 1/2" CSST hose (retail price, $80), and we would be responsible for repairing drywall, retexturing and painting, we decided to go a different direction. I understand that skilled labor is involved too, but cost estimations based on other similar work done on other sites ranges between $15-25 per linear foot, which translates to $375-$625. My hope was to be around $600, which is the high side of the estimate, my expectation was that it would end up being $800, and I probably would have paid $900 just to have it done. I'm not going to pay 3x the price though, for an easy run of what amounts to garden hose, and repairs to drywall and cabinetry excluded

Ernie's Plumbing Service Inc
I originally called another plumber for an estimate. He came and looked and based on the location of the meter and my cooktop said that it was not possible to run a gas line to the cooktop without tearing out the backsplash on the wall above the cooktop. I didn't want to do this and almost gave up but called Ernie's for a second opinion. I'm glad I did! Fred showed up and ran the line and now I'm getting a gas cooktop! No cooking on electric for me!

THOMPSON'S APPLIANCE
Thompson's Appliance replaced 3 parts on the top of my electric stove and replaced the door gasket for the dishwasher. The dishwasher leaked at the top so he replaced it again and took care of the problem. He ordered an electric stove coil for the burner and I was not offered a cheaper option and felt like he bought the most expensive type. I would use him again in the future but I may purchase parts myself next time in order to save money

Big and Square Appliance Repair
This is the second time I called Gene. First time was to repair the water dispenser on the refrigerator. During that appointment I made another appointment for him to check my older model coil Thermador cooktop that had been repaired by someone else. One burner had quit working. The first repairman took my money for a new switch but did not return to replace the switch and would not take my calls. The second repairman replaced the switch and after he left I noticed the indicator light stayed on all the time. I called him and was curtly informed that it was "installed properly." I was hesitant to use the burner -- unsure if it was wired correctly. So made the appointment with Gene and two days before that appointment the cooktop stopped working completely. Gene found all the wiring problems and, of course, the indicator light was wired incorrectly. He took care of everything and the cooktop is working perfectly. I do recommend Gene and he will be my appliance repairman going forward. He was professional, personable, willing to answer my questions, explain and show me the problem, rates were reasonable. And most important, both repair calls were successful

Install was decent, nice guys, however the Manager or Owner is absolutely horrible, I had an emergency “question “ “issue” so I called in a panic, thought my house was going to burn down and he said they will do nothing about It I should refer to mamanufacture? Really??? I live walking distance and this is my response? My 101 grandmother, my elder parents, my relatives in Hurst will no longer use, recommend this place ever again! We went there trying to support small business but with that response it’s big chain for us from now on! Good Luck

We found at the time of installation that the space in the coutertop for our new cooktop was a little too tight and that we would have to have the granite cut in order to install the gas cooktop. Thats when I looked up handymen on Angie's list and found Handyman matters. From the get go, they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Stacy whom I spoke to numerous times is SO helpful and took time to asnwer all my questions. Daniel came out the day of the appointment and helped us with the stove. He was super nice and very professional. He got right down to work and did a really nice job. The gas top was installed and hooked up and it works beautifully. I also had an issue with of our closet doors that he took care of. And we were able to use their coupon! We are looking to have a kitchen vent installed and I will definitely call Handyman matters again and have Daniel come out. Really great experience. Highly recommend
