The replacement was very good. However, a wire was damaged during the work which damaged the control board. The new control board obtained by the service tech turned out to be faulty. This lead to many hours of frustrating work to find the problem. However, the personnel worked until they fixed the problem. The personnel were very knowledgable. They kept the area clean. The installation was excellent. The company replaced the control board at no cost to us and stuck with the original cost.

The air conditioner does not cool my home. It is hotter inside the house than outside. Never though the installer has been to my home on 6 different occasions he has not fixed it. He did say that he would be out to replace a part but he did not follow through with that. The owner ( Bill Nix) has been pleasant to deal with on the phone but has not ensured that I have a working air conditioner.

My home was in need of a new central a/c unit. I purchased one from A#1 Feb. 2011. In 2011 after the install, we called for repairs 11 times: 2 times for the water pump that flooded my hall, 1 time for condensation on ducks that caused damage to my ceilings, 2 times to redo ducks, 5 times for the thermostat, 1 time for the electronic board that controls the compressor outside. Due to all of the repairs in 2011, I filed a complaint with the bank (wells fargo). A#1 air then attempted to make the situation right and replaced the 4 ton coil. In July of 2012 I called again for duct condensation. The repair man said I had a leak in my roof. I had my roof leak tested. There were no leaks. The contractors cut holes in the ceilings. It was the ducts, again. We discovered mold due to the high amount of condensation. Mold was on the wood in the attic, inside the area where the coil is and in the duct system. I then filed my second complaint with the bank. This caused A#1 Air to uninstall and reinstall the unit the "proper way". They also replaced the ducts, cleaned the mold and re-organized the ducts in my attic. The president and vice president personally came to my home and requested I allow them to make the situation right. I want to acknowledge their efforts to salvage the mess. In January of 2015 I called them for repairs to the heater as it was not working. That was a mess because they sent a novice repair guy. My unit required a senior tech. This is when I began to realize that I was attached at the hip to them because they had patched worked my unit so much their own novices techs couldn't fix it. I do want to say, they were always prompt to repair but in August of 2015 the final straw came when my ducts began to condensate again. At this point I filed my third and last complaint with the bank. I then called A#1 and began negotiations to get my money back and return their equipment. I ended up only getting half of my money back. When the unit was removed I discovered an immense amount of mold in the coil. Although I ended up paying dearly, the mold I discovered validated that I made the right decision for the health of my family. This is my experience. They tried to fix it. I give them that. At the end of the day, I should have demanded my money back in 2011. I just wish they would have had the integrity to replace what they sold me instead of taking me on a roller-coaster ride tiring to make it right when it was wrong all along.

I chose Air Force One because of the high number of A ratings by other members of Angie s List. In 2007 they replaced a contact switch in my air conditioner. Right after the technician left our home, we once again had a non-working A/C. My wife called in a Heating & A/C company not rated on Angie s List. I related the facts to designated employee at Air Force One and got no satisfaction. I drove out to talk face to face. I showed him the part and the second company's invoice. I received a total refund. My heater completely stopped working this week. I scheduled the repair and a furnace tune up with Air Force One. I returned home and found the unit was not cycling on and off as expected. I called to tell them my problem. The second technician found the first had flipped a switch. There was no charge for the second service call. In both cases a work review by the first technician would have made a world of difference.

Of the 4 bids received ($8900 to $14,000), Comfort Masters was the second lowest but was the most professional. They were the only company to provide a detailed statement of work. For the initial survey, they arrived not just onut "Air Force 1" on time. They presented the quote the next day instead of on the spot like the rest of the companies but the additional detail in the quote was worth the wait. For the installation, they were a little early and finished early. The installers were quick, quiet and they cleaned up after themselves. The price was exactly as quoted with one pleasant surprise. The quote specified a smart thermostat but did not specify a model number. They installed a top of the line thermostat. In addition, they went throughout the house re-sealing the registers as part of the total price. It has been about 6 weeks not and the unit is operating perfectly. A great job. A good company. I am very pleased.

He went over the feature and benefits of the part what it does , what could happen and showed me the old part that was corroded and pitted and I know had not been replaced in 8 years. I strongly feel that his concern and presentation helped my decision to replace the part and that I would be ahead of the curve to do preventive maintenance on the A/C

Recent Review: Noticed sand appeared to be washed out under the tub while doing a leak test just before installing tile on a studs-out bathroom refurbish. After explaining the situation by phone, Atlas sent someone by while they were in the neighborhood to assess things at no charge. Based on their input, we ended up removing the tub so they could get to the drain line from above and were able to coordinate the work to minimize damage to the newly installed cement board and moisture barrier. The tub drain pipe had probably been leaking under the slab for years and finally separated fully from the main drain line. Atlas replaced the pipe, reset the tub, and installed new lavatory valves while they were there. Crew was punctual, did very nice work, and left the work site clean. Cost was actually a bit less than the conservative estimate provided after the initial visit. Appreciated them stopping by to confirm any other work should be halted until the drain was repaired; may have saved us from having to decide between tearing out freshly installed tile or tunneling under the slab to fix it later.

Recent Review: The technician arrived on time and was quick and efficient. He seemed to be very competent. Worth the expense for an issue that I had called two other repair companies out to fix. He checked the problem and the plumbing. Took me up to the attic to see and explain the problem and the possible solutions. Repaired the plumbing. Said that he would contact me in a week to ensure the drip stopped and they would bill me at that time. Although he forgot to contact me and I had to call them to initiate the payment, the drip stopped and the problem was fixed.
