I?ve given this review a lot of careful consideration before posting as I know Jay has a number of high ratings, but ultimately decided that I did not want anyone to go through the same experience we did. Jay came out to give us a quote on three different projects: (i) removing an old range hood and installing a new one; (ii) installing crown molding in a few rooms; and (iii) and building an outdoor TV cabinet for enclosing a flat screen TV. On the crown molding, he gave me a quote based on the number of hours he expected for it to take. The quote was almost $500 more than a previous quote we received for labor associated with installing crown molding. When he quoted me on the range hood, he gave me a fixed amount, and I specifically noted that the range hood was a fixed amount instead of an hourly charge like the crown molding. He confirmed that that was correct. While discussing the work associated with the range hood during the estimate, I noted that my husband was very tall and that we wanted the range hood to be hung higher than our last one. At that point, Jay said that he could always modify the range hood shaft by cutting it if that was necessary to get it to the desired height. Knowing that this was a requirement of the job, Jay still quoted us a fixed amount. We decided to hire him for the range hood project and the outdoor cabinet TV. He came over two days later to do the project. We again went over the requirements, and he began working. After removing the old hood, he consulted me because it looked like the new range hood was going to hang lower than the older one. At that point, he again suggested that he could cut the shaft to make it hang higher. I then called my husband through Google Hangouts to consult with him on the height (and so that I could show him the pieces that Jay planned to cut). We discussed the height with Jay for maybe 10 minutes. After we hung up, Jay proceeded to mark measurements for the height, which were incorrect and inconsistent with what we had decided. I had to explain to him again and actually mark on the metal where the cut should be (because his measurements, which he did multiple times, were all incorrect). I even had to draw the hood on a piece of paper to ensure that he hung it correctly. A little while later, my husband stopped by during his lunch break, and while there, he had to actually screw in the range hood because Jay was struggling to lift it up (I have no idea how he would have hung this if my husband had not stopped by as he had previously mentioned trying to hoist it up with a wire coat hanger using a pillow underneath it, both of which made me very nervous for a new range hood). When Jay finished, he called me downstairs and immediately began talking about how hard this project was (even though he was fully aware of the requirements when he gave us the estimate). He himself said that he did not do a good job of caulking the seam where the range hood met the ceiling. In fact, it was quite an awful job of caulking ? it was smeared on the hood and gaps were left open. He then proceeded to charge us 66% more than he quoted us. I was shocked by this but had no choice but to write him a check. I could understand a small difference in price from the quote, but nothing that large, especially given the poor work quality. After I gave him the check, he mumbled something about not knowing where a broom was to clean up. He left our kitchen floors and counters a complete mess, as well as dirt all over the top of the range hood. At that point, I just wanted him to leave our house, so I then had to clean up after him. We have had many contractors do work on our home, and all of them have brought a shop vac or a broom with them to clean up afterward. He also dropped a screw into our disposal, which he did not get out, and almost blew out the motor on the disposal (my husband and I had to spend about 25 minutes digging it out). Additionally, he left the old range hood, and its parts in the middle of our home and did not offer to take them with him or at least place outside for bulk trash (again, this is something other contractors routinely do). Needless to say, we will not be using him for the outdoor TV project. My husband called him after he left to tell him how angry and frustrated he was with the price difference and work performed. Jay then called us ?unreasonable? customers because we wanted modifications made to the hood, which included cutting the shaft. These modifications, however, were clearly discussed with him when he came over to give us an estimate (and before any work was performed). He was fully aware of what the project required and gave us an estimate based on that knowledge. He complained about having to talk to us about the height requirements while he was working, including the fact that I called my husband through Google hangouts (even though, without these discussions, he would have done the job incorrectly). Again, any work we have had done on our house in the past has required some consultation or discussion between the contractor and my husband and/or me. Apparently, Jay thinks that these discussions are ?unreasonable .? He also suggested to my husband that my husband must intimidate or scare me given my reaction to the price differential. This was extremely offensive to me and completely inappropriate. My husband and I are a team and openly communicate about all work being done on our home. To suggest the fact that I consulted with my husband over this project suggests that I was intimidated is ludicrous and demonstrates Jay's unprofessional behavior. Several hours after my husband spoke with Jay, Jay sent me a text message again complaining about our unreasonableness and all of the ?extra modifications? required by the project. I told him I disagreed with his assessment and explained how disappointed we were not only with the price difference but his workmanship as a whole. I also asked him not to text me again. He then sent me two more text messages complaining about us as customers and our ?unreasonableness.? I had to again ask him to stop texting me. I realize that he will have a different recollection of the project and point to his many positive reviews, but I wanted to make sure that others are aware of our experience. Perhaps he has just not hung range hoods before and agreed to a job that was outside of his expertise, but in any event, his work will require additional clean up and fixing at our expense. If you decide to use him, I would be careful on the amount he ?quotes? as well as his overall workmanship

Millwork Visions LLC

This was our second kitchen remodel; the first was in another state. There is simply no comparison between our two experiences. While we were happy with the final product of the previous project, we were intimately involved in every decision made regarding the design of this one. Millwork Visions was recommended to us by our general contractor, who was overseeing the entire project. We were told that Terry (the owner) made custom cabinets, but we saw for ourselves what an understatement that was. Terry is an artist and his team is full of perfectionists. Unbeknownst to us, for example, when Terry dropped to meet with my husband & I the first couple of times (to get a sense of our vision), he was also absorbing the subtle details of the surrounding space. As a result, the cabinet drawer & door fronts tie into the details of the mantel in the adjoining great room AND a Dutch hutch on the far side of the kitchen, that we brought back with us from a tour in Europe. In addition to the design, we were impressed with the quality of the cabinets, the auto-close features, as well as the great care taken to ensure that every single piece was level. Last but not least, we sincerely appreciated Terry's patience, as we tried to find the perfect color for a specific design element. The member of his team who worked on that feature was nothing short of an artist. Our kitchen is stunning & functional. We couldn't be happier, and we SINCERELY appreciate the responsiveness we received from Terry & his team throughout the entire project

Vent Tech was great. They were responsive on the phone and where other providers gave a blanket estimate over the phone, Vent Tech sent a crew to assess the job before giving an estimate. They showed up on time to give the estimate and do the job. They were very professional. The were careful not to mark up my walls and put drop cloth down to catch the debris from drilling and cutting etc. The time they estimated to do the job was accurate. I would hire them again

Two Vent craft. Employees constructed a new vent from our kitchen to the outside for a new range hood. This took several hours of work and they were efficient and professional. They then came back for the second time a few days later after the electrician had installed a new outlet for the hood. They installed the new island hood over the vent and cleaned up. They did a wonderful job and we were impressed by their work and professionalism. We would highly recommend them

Very professional, the staff were very knowledgeable about their craft. It was a 3 step process. First they removed the existing wall mount range hood that had been sunk into the ceiling. The duct work was repostioned so the new flue would be properly centered once the dry wall was completed. When they came back to install the range hood, the back splash had an area that needed to be cut to fit an existing electrical socket, they recommend a good sheet metal shop. Once that was done they came back and installed the back splash. returned phone calls right away and were prompt, calling ahead to confirm thier arrival time

I will definitely use both of them again in the near future, can't say enough good things about both of them

Simply put, Rick is great. Based on my experience you can't go wrong with Rick. He has the qualities you want in a person that is working on your house. He is very personable, he is honest, his prices are reasonable for the amount of work he does, he is a craftsman that prides himself in his work, you can trust him, he will make changes if you ask him nicely :), he is very responsive and answers your questions in a way a layman can understand. I can't say enough about Rick. We were very nervous starting out on our kitchen remodel journey and when we were introduced to him he really eased our minds. He brought in competent sub contractors who gave us bids. A couple of the bids I didn't like so I called some folks I know and got bids from them. I was kind of nervous to tell Rick that I was going with another sub other than the one he had brought in. It didn't bother him in the least. So flexible. I had a schedule that was very aggressive and Rick met all the dates. When developing the schedule I worked with him to get his ideas. He was so easy to work with and told me he could make the timeline or couldn't make it. I appreciated his honesty because I wouldn't have wanted to schedule something if he thought he wouldn't be done with his job first. Helping me with the timeline made the job so much easier. He showed up when he said he was going to. I trusted him to be in our house when we weren't there. He was flexible enough to work around other sub contractor's. Rick did the demo on our kitchen in one day. He also installed the cabinets in about 2 1/2 days. His attention to detail is fantastic. The cabinets are not custom but have the feel of custom because of the little touches Rick did during installation. Our designer, who was very specific about how she wanted the cabinets, came to inspect his work and she didn't change a thing. I think she was a bit surprised even though she had worked with him before. He did a really nice job putting in the range hood and appliances. When a screw broke in the cabinet door he came back about a month later to fix it. I can't recommend Rick enough. He goes above and beyond. I felt certain that Rick really cared that my wife and I got the kitchen we wanted. He wasn't defensive about anything and just cared about what we wanted. I really appreciate all the work he did for us. If I need anything else done to my house he will be the first one I call. Do yourself a favor and give Rick Caperton a call. Just don't call him when I need him

My wife had Jon provide an estimate a few weeks ago to tile behind our gas cooktop in an area where the microwave had previously been, along with installing a ventless range hood and installing some lighting in a guest bathroom. Jon provided an estimate and we decided to go with the service. Jon showed up the day of the job on time and was very professional. He was mindful of preparing the area (covering the granite, removing cooktop grates and burners, etc.) and worked quickly. Once each of the small jobs was complete, he cleaned up the work area. He spent about a total of 3 hours performing the work. I am very happy with Jon and would recommend him for any type of handyman type of work

They acted very professionally, came and saw the environment. We have an existing gas trunk line sufficient to support the cooktop, and an easy walk out attic, with good access to the area where the gas line would need to be installed. After hearing their estimate, about $1850 to run a single 25' 1/2" CSST hose (retail price, $80), and we would be responsible for repairing drywall, retexturing and painting, we decided to go a different direction. I understand that skilled labor is involved too, but cost estimations based on other similar work done on other sites ranges between $15-25 per linear foot, which translates to $375-$625. My hope was to be around $600, which is the high side of the estimate, my expectation was that it would end up being $800, and I probably would have paid $900 just to have it done. I'm not going to pay 3x the price though, for an easy run of what amounts to garden hose, and repairs to drywall and cabinetry excluded

Carl did a great job. This project involved creating a shelf for a new range top in an existing cabinet and adding trim for recently installed oven and the new range top opening. Carl created very precise opening so there would be a absolute minimum gap between the new countertop to be installed and adjusted height of the opening so the range top would extended beyond the new countertop to meet our specifications. As probably the case with many of these types of projects there were some unforeseen issues uncovered when the existing countertop and cabinet pieces were removed. These were not a problem for Carl who made the necessary adjustments to accommodate these issues. This was the first time we used Carl, when he arrived to examine the project he brought along his project portfolio and we went over some of some of the previous work which was very impressive. Carl told me he could spot measurement off by as little as 1/32 of an inch and after seeing his work I absolutely believe he can. The countertop installers took additional measurements based upon the shelf Carl created and upon installing the countertops they could not have fit any better I can't imagine the space tolerances being any closer. Carl also installed and connected the new gas range top so we had a temporary cooking surface until the countertops were installed and we could make the new range top installation permanent. The shelf was absolutely level and straight and made a big difference to the countertop installers. The entire project could not have turned out better, we were very pleased and would not hesitate to use services of Craftsman Connection again

I am so excited about the finished product! Not only do I have a beautiful backsplash, but also great lighting under the cabinets (that dim!) so I can now see what I'm doing on the counters! Since they were taking out the old wallboards and installing greeboard, not only were they able to wire it for the lighting, but they also repositioned my outlets to my liking and added a couple new outlets. I can't say enough good things about Jerry and his crew. Jerry put in the lighting and Erik and Greg did the backsplash. They are the most respectful, courteous contractors I've ever worked with. No phoniness, all genuine. They truly care about the customer and your house. They take special care to cover everything and put paper down on the floor with lots of tape (makes a difference!) so tracking is at a minimum. Becky helped me come up with the tile and accent design - she is truly a sweetheart and a tremendous help. The Agape team are all professionals and do meticulous work, paying attention to detail. The office assistants are very special - they communicate well and are attentive and true professionals. They have the right team assembled for all areas. I have hired other contractors that were okay but nothing like Agape. I will always hire Agape Home Services when possible!

The handyman arrived on time. I booked a four hour session upon arrival the man said he had to leave an hour early. He worked efficiently, and had someone else come by to help him. Everything did not get done, but what was worked ok was finished adequately. However I ended up having to pay more than the four our block of time even though he was only there for 3 hours, which was annoying

We would highly recommend Chad and his team. Chad listened carefully to what we wanted and offered suggestions on both the design and functionality of our kitchen. Before we started, he took us to several homes where we were able to see his work first hand and get ideas about how we wanted our finished kitchen to look. He worked tirelessly throughout the renovation to make sure we were pleased with every aspect of the project. He was involved at every step of the way--from initial design to tear-out to installation. He was easy to reach by phone and was on the worksite daily. He was willing to accommodate our work schedules by meeting with us after hours and on week-ends to discuss plans and pick out materials. One of our favorite features of our new kitchen is a custom island that Chad designed and created for us. The cabinetry is elegant and highly functional. It has a bookshelf, 4 spice cabinets, and a built-in bread drawer. We also like the treatment that he did on our existing cabinets--an antique white with a glaze. It makes our kitchen look more spacious and light

The kitchen is very small and for the last 7 years the gas wall oven never worked, it wasn't worth replacing. Bill came out several times at the appointed times to get measurements and give design ideas. He did not charge me for these time nor the design ideas. He is very knowledgeable about spacing and function and listened to my needs and cost of the project. When we finally decided that the most economic approach was to replace the stove top with a slide in range and remove the wall oven and replace with a cabinet and microwave shelf. The cabinets were still good and didn't need replacing. He used the cabinet doors from under the stove top to create extra storage in the wall oven cabinet. Added bonus (no charge) made a wood back for the back of the range hood so it will blend with the rest of the cabinets and matched the paint. This was so when looking into the kitchen the range hood looked like it was part of the upper cabinets and not just a piece of stainless steel. Looking at the ceiling he blended the paint and texture so well there is no way to tell it was even patched. Bill has no other crew members and I felt safe leaving him with a house key while I went to work. Each day Bill cleaned up after himself , no tools, clutter, ect . There was an issue with the range handle not allowing the dishwasher to open all the way. Bill was able to get the dishwasher to open all the way, I was very impressed with his ability to think outside of the box. Next year I will be upgrading a bathroom and already told him to be ready for my call

He did a careful and thorough job. I would not call his prices cheap, but on the other hand he works smart and helps you to make good long-term decisions. This will save you money in the long run. As I said above, he gave me excellent advice about how to deal with customer service, to get them to replace my range hood for no additional cost to me. I will definitely use him again in the future. His specialities are fencework and electrical work. He also was cheerful about doing extras. For example, I bought the wrong size of vanity for my bathroom, so he volunteered to take it up to Home Depot for me on his way out, at no extra charge
It was fantastic. They were very knowledgeable, very helpful, they were not pushy, and there's someone following up the project to make sure that the crew is doing the right job.
Their guys are true professionals. They always showed up on time, were tidy, professional and courteous. All work was done to my satisfaction. On this last occasion we had an toilet that was wobbly. We picked out our toilet, plus a sink with vanity, a wall mirror, new light fixtures, and G.H's guys picked them up and brought them to our condo. They unpacked everything outside and after removing our old stuff, they brought in everything piece by piece. They tidies up the area around the toilet, set new bolts, and applied a new seal. They then set the toilet, applied a nice bead of calk. This was something my husband noticed. They then attached the water and it was done in about 10 minutes. The cabinet with the new fixtures was installed. It took a little longer but it went in smoothly. It was obvious the workers knew what they were doing. You know when someone has done something before by how they move and install. The wall mounted light fixtures went in smoothly. The suggested we add a piece of trim to cover the holes left by the old fixture. Not only did it look great but it saved us money by not having to repair the hole. Just a small accent piece that cost $3, saved us about $50. It adds up. They also replaced our front door knob and installed a new dead bolt. Again it was done smoothly and cleanly. Since I am on cleanliness, G.H. is one of the cleanest companies I have ever used. They clean as they go and remove everything and clean up. All I had to do was supply a vacuum and a broom. This is not the first time we used G.H. Complete Construction and it won't be the last. Give them a call, you won't be disappointed
I was very pleased with the quality of work and the professionalism of Luis and his crew. They arrived on time in fact a little early which is different from a lot of other companies. They gave me a fair quote and were able to finish the job in one day. I would use them again if I had sure what to do
The father / son team were great! We had a water leak in our bathroom. We had a contractor come in that completely botched the job. We then contacted JPR and they were able to restore the bathroom back like nothing ever happened. Very pleased and would use this duo again!
It went great!!!!! We had used them on a special in Sept of 2014 to do a roof inspection and they found our leak and fixed it all within the special price. They did not try to sell us a new roof at the time, because it still had a year or two left.... We had hail this year and that was it for our roof.... Although we got 5 estimates, we decided to hire C&H because of their attention to all the concerns we had regarding the install and quality of work... we upgraded the shingles on our roof, and only pd out of pocket for the upgrade. They met with us several times during our decisionmaking process. I was worried about the redo of a flat surface area between the shingles and they paid particular attention to it explaining how they were going to cover it....and protect the area. They canvassed the area afterwards for nails and debris twice....and used a magnet to find hidden nails... Rob and Tommy were great at communication. And Tommy was on site for the whole time.... The work was done very well and it rained the day after so we know their are no leaks!!! I would give them an A
Great! He gave me great prices and found quality units for me. He is a professional guy and does a great job. If you already have a regular HVAC guy, I'd recommend calling this company first! They deserve a grade higher than an A.
Everything was wonderful. Great communication pre, during and post. Very friendly lad who showed up early, very nice to talk to, thorough, and answered any questions I had. Wish him all the best and highly recommended.
The technician vacuumed all of the duct dirt/particulates via a vacuum hose that stretched out our front door and to his truck. The noise wasn't really too loud (we kept watching TV while he did his work), and we didn't see any dirt escaping into the rooms while the work went on. The technician was very methodical and moved from room to room in a logical manner which instilled a sense of confidence in his work habits. He explained what he was doing and how it all worked. He even took movies of the ducts, before and after, on his iPhone and seeing them made us believers! We keep a clean house but inevitably dirt and dust accumulate in the ducts. Shirley Air removed the dirt and dust and left us feeling good about having a house that wasn't recirculating those nasty things. It was painless (as mentioned, we continued to watch the news on TV while the work was going on) and our 2,800+ sq ft house was done in less than 5 hours. We would highly recommend Shirley Air - prompt, neat, informative, excellent tools, and kept up a nice pace that had our ducts cleaned in a timely manner. What more could we ask for
The service was very professional and knowledgeable. He pointed out potential trouble spots, but did not try to up sell. When I do need the help I will be sure and contact Welborn!
I called them about a year ago to repair my washer and dryer and I was very happy with the way they responded. They responded very fast. They are going to come in the fall for the heating. I signed a contract with them. I think the price is about the same everywhere. They may be a little higher. He was very nice and polite and went all around the place to check the A/C. They gave me a 12-3 range of time and he came about 12:30. I wasn?t home but my wife was very happy
I reached out to Golden Swan Services because the company I originally hired was taking for every to get back with me. Kunal contacted me immediately to find out what my needs were. We discussed over the phone, he followed up via text and got it scheduled right away. As soon as he finished he reached out to see if it was satisfactory and to see if there was anything else I may need, he also sent pics of the work that was completed. He is very professional, the communication is excellent, he is fair and trustworthy and I will hire him again for any future needs. He has earned my business for all of my future projects

What do customers in Fort Worth say about Range Hood Installation?
The secretary did not sound friendly in the initial phone call. But the technicians were friendly. They did their job efficiently - I think from having a lot of experience. They cleaned up well. The new range hood and duct work very well.
