The crown moulding and trim looked great. There were a few very minor touch up areas I asked to be fixed. Sweeper King fixed them after I pointed them out. Overall, quality work.

Excellent craftsmanship---a very professional installation of the crown moulding. They promptly gave me an estimate, it was easy to schedule the installation date and they showed up on the installation date. After completing the job they cleaned up and left the house in the same condition as before the job

Everything went great. Scott is very professional and pleasant. He communicates well and tells you exactly what he's doing. Scott picked up the materials needed for crown moulding so I didn't have to worry about it. He put up plastic sheeting in the living room to contain the dust created from sawing the crown moulding. He called to inform me of his arrival time (snow storm the night before so, understandably, he came a little later than scheduled). Scott fixed the bed the first day no problem. The next day he installed the crown moulding, and the third day he installed the light boxes and outlet for me. He's still waiting for me to call him back to put in the actual light fixtures (I have to find the right one first!). I was very pleased with all the work completed, and will call again in the future. I also had painting done which I've written about under the painting category

The Crown Moulding Company

First day, they arrived one and one-half house late. They also appeared clueless as to what rooms they were to work in. They also arrived without any paint, despite being given the paint formula they were to use. I walked them through the house explaining what they were to do - pointing out tricky areas, such are the curved plantation shuttler in the office. I stayed home for the next 3 days to be available for questions, etc They then got to work. As long as the room/s and corners were perfectly square, their work was adequate. However, most of my rooms have sloped ceiling and angled walls - in which case, the moulding does not line up correctly and looks like a 4 year old installed it. Then on Thursday, despite specific instructions on how to handle the plantation shuttler. they cut the top off the plantation shutter in the to install the moulding. They were very sloppy with the paint and when putting my bed pack in place, they gouged the walls, requiring sheet rock repair and painting. As soon as the workers left, the owners wife started dogging me for payment. Not kidding, she called my house phone 4 times and my cell phone 3 times in a four-hour period. When my husband got home from work on Friday, he was just as shocked at their work. We refused to pay until they cam back on Monday to try to remedy. Every angled wall and sloped ceiling in this house looks terrible and needs to be re-done. They owner of the company came out with a painter on Monday and tried to make repairs with paint and some sort of bonding material. I went ahead and paid them - big mistake. We are not satisfied with their make-shift repairs. Attempts to get them to come back out and fix these areas have been ignored. This company is bring to do business in multiple states and failing miserably. They are also advertising in local home magazines. By writing this, I am hopeful that I can spare someone else this frustration. I walk tint my home now and it makes me sad - I just hate the way my house looks now

Brandes Paint & Wallpapering
5.0
This was a two part job involving complete repainting of one room with lots of woodwork (trim, crown moulding, chair rail and a bookcase to be repainted). I also needed several return ducts closed off and painted and the paint removed and two vanity areas textured and repainted. David came in and finished the work on time and with professional results and care taken. The second paint job was much more involved with a large bedroom, hall and vanity area to be painted. This required the removal of two lanes of wall paper, repair of cracks in the walls texture and repainting. This room also has trim, crown moulding, chair rail and two built-in bookcases and a window seating area. David has done a great job despite some real troublesome wall paper and complex conditions to work around. This job should finish only a day off of schedule but with the level of complexity I am amazed he is able to complete as quickly as he promised. Will definitely have him back to do some other jobs in the future

Platinum Painting and Gutters

The Platinum Painting team are true professionals that pride themselves in quality. I was first impressed that I received a competitive bid at the time of our first meeting; they didn't make me wait like all of the others. Once I received quotes from other contractors we reviewed them and decided to choose Platinum Painting as their professionalism was unmatched. I was on schedule within 6 days. Anthony said that it would only take one day to complete & I thought he was nuts since this was a big job. But, 4 guys showed up as scheduled as knocked it out in one day. It is amazing how new your house can look with white & shiny trim

Phil's Custom Trim

This man did a really poor job and was very careless around areas that had already been painted and finished. He drew on the walls on the bathroom which was not supposed to be repainted, and although he apologized, he didn't really seem to care. When I pointed out a corner where he had done a poor job measuring the baseboard, he just said the wall wasn't straight and his "saw only made 45 and 90 degree cuts." He also didn't submit a bill to the GC until about 3 weeks after the job had been finalized and we thought all subcontractors had been paid. When we asked him to resecure the mantel which had come loose, he scratched it really badly. Overall, a very disappointing experience

It went great!!! Curtis is a true profession in every way. His work is impeccable. He showed up on time. Communicated effectively every step of the way. His prices are very reasonable. He was so helpful in designing all the elements. Worked with me to find results for challenging details. Very trustworthy. I can't say enough good things about Curtis and his workmanship

DFW Improved
5.0
DFW did a great job. Their subs showed up on time for the most part. Scott Pace, their project manager, was very helpful and cheerfully took care of the few minor glitches that came up. He even suggested a few ideas for improvements, especially a back splash design for behind the stove. The cabinet man added a trim element that looks like short legs at the bottom of the cabinets making them look like furniture. We were looking for a simple crown moulding for the top of the cabinets but the style we liked wasn't available. Once again the cabinet man figured out a way to make a perfect substitute in his shop. We have used our kitchen for over a year and haven't had any hidden problems. If anything we're more happy with the kitchen now than we were when it was first finished

DFW Improved
5.0
The job was done fantastically, very professional. From the bid process to the work and clean up, DFW Improved provided outstanding service and work. Craig handled the bid and oversight of the project and was easy to get in touch with and made sure we understood what was being done and made sure we were happy with the results. I highly recommend working with Hector as the construction manager and his primary employee Luis. Both of them are exceptional and take extreme pride in their work and are prompt and work very hard. We couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome and are very satisfied with the quality and price for DFW Improved's service. I plan to use them again late this summer for a master bathroom makeover and will post results when it is done

It went really well. Michael showed up on time, exactly when he said he would. He executed all of the steps as he said he would - no surprises. They were very neat and respectful of our personal property. They finished in about half the time of what was estimated. High amount of professionalism. I would definitely use Michael for this type of work and repair again in the future - highly recommended

We first met Terry in late August 2016, and we liked him right away. He's knowledgeable and offered ideas that we appreciated. Initially, things went smoothly. We put down a deposit in mid-September, approved Terry's drawings on 10/3, and had our first round of cabinetry delivered on 10/31. So far, so good. Our first hiccup was indirectly related to Terry's work; he recommended a supplier for quartz countertops, and we trusted him on this. Unfortunately, we later found that supplier to be unresponsive, especially in terms of standing behind their work. That's a subject for another review! Given that our initial experience with cabinetry had been positive, we offered Terry additional work in the form of custom closets, a built-in fireplace mantle, and mouldings/casings for three rooms. He was also to paint several custom doors that we had made by a local manufacturer. We approved his proposal for the additional work on 11/17 and paid for all of the work sans painting (including certain work not yet completed, unfortunately) on 12/13. This is where our experience unraveled. First, a project that we thought would be complete by the holidays came to a grinding halt. We started having trouble reaching Terry, and then he would tell us that he had been sick and/or his guys were either sick or out. Some of that was understandable with the holidays approaching, but we started to see a pattern of excuses develop. For the next few months, we went back and forth. Among the items already paid for, Terry owed us 30 closet shelves, 6 closet rods, an access panel, all hardware related to those items, and 2 sets of lateral file hardware, along with numerous touch-ups. Terry eventually agreed to deliver the closet shelves and rods to us by 2/23/17, but they didn't arrive until 3/17 (and then only because we were ready to accept them unpainted). We never did receive the rods, access panel, or lateral file hardware. We had to adjust the door and drawer hardware on our own, and we learned that the cabinets weren't as cleanly-manufactured as we'd first thought. Doors vary in thickness, openings aren't square, etc. Painting and staining, however, was an area of special concern. When the initial delivery of cabinetry had been made, we saw that a number of touch-ups would be required, and Terry reassured us that these would be no big deal. But his crew had a very difficult time correcting these defects. Even after taking doors back to the shop to be 'completely redone', they would return with damage. On several occasions, I asked Terry if my painter should handle the work, as I was wanting to be fair with Terry and was thinking that he would be losing money. But he expressed confidence in his work and claimed that "it wasn't about the money". In the end, all that this did was cost us a great deal of time. The same was true of staining done to our office casing; this was to be color-matched to our new windows, but the guys were not able to achieve an even finish. In the end, there were so many runs and other defects in the paint and stain work that was performed by Terry's crew that we had to hire our own painter to correct them, where possible, as well as to finish the shelves and other parts. We spent over $5,000 to have another contractor complete the repairs and touch-ups, as well as for us to source, purchase and/or fabricate hardware, e.g. custom closet rods, custom lateral file bars, etc. (not counting our time to do so). The result looks very good, but it was time-consuming and very costly. We believe we were as patient and polite with Terry as we could be throughout this process. When we kicked off this project, we really thought he would be "our cabinet guy" from that point forward. Sadly, that wasn't meant to be, and we found ourselves empathizing with this BBB complainant: [*** Link removed ***] We ultimately reached out to Terry one last time, on 3/23/17, offering him the opportunity to deliver what we had paid for back in December, but we never heard from him again

.He was on time and everything was fine. I went with somebody who specialised in trim as opposed to general re-model. The quote was $1600. He was professional. He seemed to know what he was doing and I am sure he could have done a fine job. Actually I went with a guy who specialised in crown molding and trim. He was not cheaper than Baltazar Jaramillo. Crown molding and trim got to be done right. I would give him a call for future projects of mine but he did not win this one that is all

Bradford & Son Painting & Remodeling

I got a lot of bids for this project (8 total in fact). John was one of the first to come out to give my bid because he was willing to give up his Saturday. He arrived right when he said he would and was very courteous and asked a lot of questions to ensure he understood the project. He was the *only* bidder that sent me a detailed list of everything that was to be performed and broke out his price by project/ area of the house. He was also one of the lowest bidders. Bids ranged from $1400 to $3300. I have to say that we felt the most comfortable with John of any of the bidders, so his very reasonable price was an added bonus. Several other companies had A's on Angie's List, but blew through my house and did the estimate in about 5 minutes flat. I was worried that I would have to "manage" these contractors a lot to be sure to get what I wanted. John worked us in with another project he had going on. He called every day to let us know where he would be and, if he was coming to our house, when he would be here. He was always extremely courteous and professional, just an all around nice guy too. He typically works by himself, although he brought a friend carpenter the day he did all the woodwork, which John supervised. I trusted him to be in and out of our house even when we couldn't be there. He is a very talented painter and does a fantastic job as far as quality goes, all with very minimal mess. He is thorough; he sanded and vacuumed all the baseboards and trim beforehand. He is not satisfied with anything less than perfection. I thought the master bathroom looked great, but he was not happy until he added a caulk line at the top of the wall to get the wall/ceiling line perfect. He even offered to come back another day to put knobs back on cabinets and hang pictures again (once all the paint was completely dry). John was super tolerant of my 2 year old daughter and comfortable being in someone else's house. He is a very hard worker and a very talented painter. My husband and I are very particular/perfectionist about things and we didn't have one single issue throughout the entire project, which took about a week total
I contacted Phillips in mid June about replacing the wood trim and painting the house. They stated they were backed up due to all of the rain and it would be around 4 to 6 weeks before they would have a crew available. I know that everyone was backed up since there was a lot of rain in the previous months. This was OK, but then I had the job dates changed twice and then we agreed that they would start on Monday 7/27, but late the week before they were to start, I was informed that they could not get the proper crew until 7/30, which would put the work into the weekend. I informed them I was not happy with the change and they said that they would get the job done by Friday 7/31. They did arrive on the scheduled date and time, but I was surprised there was only a 2 man crew. I had them do a job 4 years ago for hail damage and it was done with a larger crew than this one (less work). They did replace the wood trim and did a lot of prep work the first day. The second day they completed all of the painting. Overall the job was good, but after talking with my neighbor, I wish that I had used a different outfit to replace the wood trim. The crew that Phillips used did not have an experienced carpenter in my opinion (they did an OK job, not excellent). They used multiple layers of wood trim instead of the original thickness. They also did not use window membrane tape around the windows when replacing the wood to seal out leaks. They also did not use treated wood that would last longer. My neighbor had his trim replaced and the outfit that he hired did all of this as part of their process. Unfortunately I found this out after my job was done. If I had it to do over again, I would hire a different company for the wood/ trim replacement and then have Phillips do the painting
This was a big and complex job. I was on a tight budget and these guys came in at a sharp price. Unfortunately, their proposal was a bit vague and lacked a great deal of specificity. I made a few changes, added what I thought was a bit of clarity and adjusted (increased) their price some. But in retrospect, I was not sufficiently precise. That said, the work that had to be done got done and given the situation, perhaps an imprecise quote was the best way to go. After I paid the deposit and the crew arrived, we drove out many of the details and negotiations began in earnest. There were no cost over-runs but the completion date slipped a few days, Mark Brozio, Sun Painting's owner was quite responsive. The size of the crew doubled, as if by magic. I continued to gently supervise and negotiate with both the crew and the owner, Mark. At then end of the job, when I still had some concerns, Mark Brozio surprised and delighted me by saying that for a job of this size a "Powder Puff" service was included: after all the other trades had completed their work at my house, Sun Painting would return and do any required touch-up work at no additional charge. This last comment, along with the volume of work they performed at an agreed upon price, has endeared me to Sun Painting. They will be my first choice in the future
Everything was meticulously scheduled to keep the project moving quickly and efficiently. Eric was so kind and patient. I wish the cabinet subcontractor and the tile guys had been more detail oriented, but Eric did what he could to fix things, and our kitchen turned out beautiful and so much more functional
Kirk and I planned on him being at my house at 8:00 in the morning he called the night before just to confirm the time, he was at my house at 7:45 ready to work, he went over everything he was going to do before he started, sounded great , so I stuck around for awhile, Kirk was hard at work tearing down existing stairway, I really could not go up or down stairs obviously since he was tearing them down, so I ask if he would be ok if I were to leave and go do some errands around town that I would be close by if he needed me or had any questions just to call me , I checked back in a couple of hours later he was still working hard and he told me that he did not like the way a section of the wood was done at the top of the railing so he took it offf and sheet rocked it and added a rosett for no additional charge, so I left again, when Kirk was finished at around 6:00 my stairs looked absolutely beatifull!!!!!!!, stunning!! , just what I envisioned them being for years, and now I have gorgeous stairs, Kirk knows stairs, and he truly LOVES what he does he told me that and it shows, Kirk started at 7:45 and worked until job was done and them he left my house and porch where he set up cleaner then it was before he came, wonderful experience so glad I chose k2 stairs, stairs look like a million bucks, money well spent
Tony did an amazing job! He is extremely detail oriented. He spent hours at the paint store making sure our custom match paint was exactly right. He takes great care to protect the floors and other surfaces while he paints. There were several areas in our home that had not been properly treated before the original paint was applied. Tony took the time to fix all of that and get it right. We are so happy with how all of his painting turned out. It feels and looks like a new home now! Thank you Tony. You have a customer for life
Other than the weather not cooperating...very well! Crew worked hard and did a good job. I really appreciated that they did a couple of extra steps in fixing/filling a few extra areas that we didn't originally talk about but discovered as the work was being done. My next big job will be interior painting and I will be contacting them again. Very pleased
Cary did a wonderful job. He was communicative before and during the install, polite, and easy to work with (as was his son who was his helper). We will absolutely work with him again!
communicated within a day or two of arrival to make sure he or I had the materials for the jobs to be done. went very well showed up on time, got right to work. work done was above what was expected his rates are listed on his website, hourly, well worth every penny
I have had the experience of working with contractors on multiple projects. I found Brandon and BK Renovations to be highly professional, knowledgeable and detailed oriented, they ask questions, provide recommendations with the goal of delivering on customer expectations.
I did not like the number of phone calls that we had to place to get everything done. They finally did get the roof on and we have no complaints about the roof.
Art did an outstanding, professional, finished job. He was on time, efficient, careful and cleaned up everything on the job site. There was not one piece of garbage, or waste left behind. The areas worked on were cleaner then original!!!!

What do customers in Fort Worth say about Crown Moulding Installation?
We're beginning to do minor remodeling projects and we hired Cutting Edge to do the trim work. They hung beautiful crown moulding in my living & dining rooms. This wasn't regular standard crown. It was almost 7" and more difficult than average. The job came out so perfect that we already scheduled Cutting Edge to do crown upstairs in my family room and hallway. We have a number of carpentry projects coming up and plan to use Cutting Edge for all of them.
