Foley Custom Pools Inc

They gave us the blue prints. They are just flat out honest and good natured. They said it is going to be a little bit expensive but hears what we are doing and why. If you want to trim the cost you are going to lose some features. They really opened their books to us and we found that really refreshing. The level of trust with was very high. The price came in above what we can afford and we are finding the money to stay with them. We have decided it is worth not shopping around and finding a way to stay with this company.

We have used them before. We were happy with their work. Their customer service and follow-up is good. People who work for them are trustworthy. They did whatever they said they would. They also went above and beyond. Their price was the one of least expensive, so we got high quality for low price. They have always been good with follow-up and responsiveness.

CUSTOM POOL CARE INC

I really want to give them a D or F rating at the time when Gerald refused to service our pool on the phone. Mike from the same company installed a new pump for our pool. We explained to him that we would start to re-plater our pool in the next week and the plastering company told us to make the pump ready before the plastering is done so that the filter can filter out all of the dust resulting from the new plaster. Mike recommended their pool start up team to us and told us they do not run the pump in the start up process since the acid would damage the pump and heater. We immediately booked the start up service from Custom Pool Care because we were very happy with Mike. But at the same time, we were very confused with the two different start up processes from the two parties. I asked to talk to Gerald who is the cleaning and brushing team supervisor to understand their process. While talking to Gerald, I expressed my concern that why the two ways were different and if the way they use would break my warranty from the plaster company. Gerald immediately told me that they do not want to deal with third party and do not want to be responsible for any warranty issue. He said he would pass by the job. Custom Pool Care provides the pool start up service but they do not do plastering. My understanding is that they have to deal with the third party as long as they provide the service. All these things happened on Friday. During the weekend, I talked to the project lead from the plastering company and explained to him why the pump is not needed and the way Custom Pool Care will use to start up the pool. He told me that the method is good although it is different from what he told us to do. He also told me that he will not add Start UP TECH to the pool water when filing the pool. Everything seemed settle down to me. The following Monday morning, Gerald called and told me that he talked to his supervisor and both of them agree to pass by my job. I explained to him that I already understood the whole process and it should not be any warranty issue. But no matter what, he just refused to work for us. At the end he recommended another company and hang up my phone when I was still talking. From beginning to end, Gerald were polite (except than hanging up the phone). I was very frustrated while talking to him this morning since this is a busy season for swimming pool service company and I am afraid I could not find another company on time. Now I booked up with another company who is very confident with what he will do. After calming down, I think I should appreciate he refused to work for us. This is all because they are not confident on the job they will provide. I do not want to hire a company that is not confident on themselves. I gave them a B because they are honest and I do not want to add the first bad rating to their reviews.

From the beginning with the consultation with the owner, Don Davenport, we felt very comfortable working with him. He designed us a pool exactly what we wanted and out bid four other competitors' pricing. After signed contract, they worked quickly on getting the permit and breaking ground in two weeks. The project was completed in 2 months. The owner, Don Davenport, was always reachable by phone, text, and email. Communication with him was very easy and reasonable. Changes needed to be made or problems we had were taken care of. We definitely expressed our concerns and wants daily. We are very pleased with our new pool.

They solicited our service by using a flyer and I interviewed them along with 6 other pool services. This owner was very thorough and his prices were average; he seemed to have a big concern for my pool and is a good communicator as to when his service people are coming. He cares about taking care of his customer's pools and I will use him again in the future.

MIRAGE CUSTOM POOLS
1.0
Sharing my POOL LEAK experience in dealing with Mirage Custom Pools. I built my pool with Mirage about 10 years ago. Few years after pool completion, I started to suspect that my pool was leaking water. Wondering why my water bill was much higher than my neighbors and friends with pools. Wondering why I was filling my pool multiple times a week. So a month ago I tried the water bucket pool leak test I learned about. Basically you set a 5 gallon bucket of water with same level of the pool in the pool steps and see if the water level drops around it. Sure enough, I was dropping about a good 1 inch a day. So I searched for a good company that specialises in pool leak detection and repair company in the DFW area. I found Superior Pool Services which has been doing this type of work for over 30 years. During this time I only suspected my water leaks was just due to some bad luck in plumbing somewhere. Superior came and did their leak detection service. They were very thorough using scuba gear and dye testing to look for all the possible leaks. I just have to say wow. They found that I had leaks at 3 of my 6 pool drains and one of my skimmers. I expected a leak somewhere but at 50% of my drains and skimmers? So they proposed a repair job to fix the leaks for about $3k. To properly repair the drains and skimmers they had to break away the material around these objects. What they found was most shocking. They showed me that there was definitely a lack of concrete material used around the drains. The skimmers were almost hollow when tapping around it when it should be solid concrete all around it. The drains clearly only had about an inch of concrete existing when pool experts I spoke to said there should have been closer to 8 inches or more deep of solid concrete all around the drains. The Superior person onsite felt these were the main causes for all my water leaks. I asked another pool company owner, and they agreed. So once I heard this, I contacted Mirage. Their first answer was their warranty only covered leaks for 1 year. I told them this is wrong as I have findings that it was Mirage’s construction flaws that caused the leaks. Tom Hauk the owner then returned my messages and came to my home for a visit. In summary it’s been over a month since. I have had lots of back and forth emailing from Tom at Mirage. They are not taking any ownership for the leaks. I was led to believe from Tom and Mirage that having this many leaks at my main pool water-exit areas is a total natural occurrence. I am still in disbelief on how Mirage handled this. I originally built a $70K pool with Mirage. Looking back I also lost several thousand of dollars and gallons of wasted water and pool chemicals. Mirage chose to deny any fault to this matter. Mirage accepts that having leaks at drains and both skimmers are acceptable Mirage standards! If I knew this is how Mirage handles and takes responsibility for their mistakes, I would have run from them long time ago. My lesson learned. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Mirage Custom Pools to anyone looking for a swimming pool. I believe in working with companies that stand by their work and back it up with doing right when there is wrong for its customers.

Recent Review: It was a very pleasurable experience. We left town a couple times which stopped the process; he might have been finished earlier if we had been there the whole time. He was personable and used subcontractors who were extremely polite and picked up after themselves. Every part of the process from excavating to plastering was amazingly fast.

Recent Review: Mark was honest and professional. He offered to do a partial detection first to save me some money. Since he did not find any leak during the partial detection I decided to go for a full detection. Mark taught me how to detect leaks due to pump check valve. He also gave me instructions on how to repair the skimmer threads using epoxy putty myself. Overall this is a good experiences and I will definitely use him again in the future.

Recent Review: I live in a portion of the Metroplex where the soil is constantly moving. So unfortunately, cracked pipes and leaks around our swimming pool are not a new problem to me. In the past, I have used a leak detection company that did a good job, but was very expensive. In both prior occasions, the same technician, Ryan did the repairs. So, last week when water started leaking out from under my pool decking again, I called Ryan's cell phone. He answered right away and I was very glad to hear he had started his own leak detection and repair company. He gave me a very fair price quote for the job on the phone and came right out to the house two days later as promised. As in the past cases, Ryan worked quickly and efficiently to repair the leaks. I stood with him the whole time watching the repairs. You can tell he is a real pro with lots of experience. It was a super hot 100 degree day and he was working on a concrete deck, but he got the job done efficiently and promptly. He knows pool plumbing very well. He helped me identify all the pipes that were visible after the dig and explained how the water was being routed. He also knows the valves at the filter very well and was able to test and double check all the other connections and plumbing with various value settings. All in all, Ryan is my go-to guy for any leaks we have in the yard. While I hate it that our property is plagued with these issues, it is at least comforting to know that when a leak occurs, Ryan will be able to find it and fix it for me for a very reasonable price.
