Thaler Contracting, Inc
5.0
We contracted Mr Thaler to replace our existing doors and windows with hurricane resistant glass. Mr Thaler came to our home to provide an estimate and during his visit made several cost saving suggestions that we were not aware of. After the estimate was approved he began work and not only was he quick he was careful not to create an excessive mess. He constantly evaluated his work and made on the spot corrections if needed . I would highly recommend Mr Thaler to anyone for all types construction with no reservations what so ever!

Made an appointment and a salesman arrived on-time calling in advance to confirm the appointment and our availability. Also of significance was that he came in the evening when we were both available after work. Salesman was very knowledgeable, informative, brought samples, answered all questions, and offered various options for what we wanted along with leaving brochures etc on their products. Estimate was very fair and comparable with other estimates, but exceeded in both quality and warranty. The company followed up after visit asking if we had any other concerns or questions. Note: only one other company called back out of four. We conducted a lot of research as this was a major investment as we wanted not only a good price, but a quality product that would both last and provide true protection against the storms we get here in South Florida and would increase our home resale value. We took our time and this company was the only one who followed up over this long period. Some may call that pushy, but we call it a company that wants our business. When we decided to make the purchase the company sent our their representative who again sat down and addressed all our concerns and again brought samples highlighting their product as well as details of where their product was made and how it is constructed to exceed current code. He provided a detailed written estimate and contract. After completion we paid the exact cost agreed upon although they went above and beyond what they were required to do. After signing contract, the measurer arrived on-time as scheduled and was both professional and informative. The windows and doors were completed ahead of schedule and the company called to set-up a convenient time to install. Installers arrived on-time, were extremely professional, and completed the job with our interests in mind meaning they set-up barriers to minimize dust, they really worked and did not goof-off as others have done on projects we have had contracted for, and offered to stay late to complete the job so as not to inconvenience us for a third day for a couple of hours of work. When completed, they really cleaned up after themselves, not like any other contractor we've had. When the County Inspector arrived for the inspection, one of the installers arrived first at the scheduled time unlike the Inspector who was late. Inspection went fine with the Inspector pointing out to me that the product and installation met/exceeded all required code and that the installers really exceeded required installation requirements. Have several friends who also had storm windows and doors installed in the past year and have heard nothing but horror stories on their experiences with their companies. We were also blessed that we did not have to spend days cleaning-up after the installation as they did or have to hire someone to make repairs on damages or omissions their installers made. Our installation was complete plus! Again, many kudos to the installers " Tony's Crew" who were a group of guys who really knew what they were doing in every aspect and went above and beyond in various aspects of the installation and done way more than what most (any) installer would or should do! We recently have hired several contractors to do things from a new roof to new counter tops in the kitchen and in one case we refused to pay and had to go to arbitration with the other we continually have to perform follow-up repairs. This experience exceeded all expectations and we wish they also did bathroom remodels which is our next project. A++

CARBONNEAU'S Impact Windows, Doors and Screening

They are fantastic. They do high quality work. They are also very clean. I picked out the materials and they picked it up, paid for it and just added it to my final bill. They found that some materials were not available, found some at another location and picked them up at no additional charge. They really go above and beyond anyone I have worked with. They do everything they can to make sure I was happy with the end product. I plan on using them again.

Living Earth Remodelers
5.0
Eamon, his crew at Living Earth, and his subcontractors (Brower Electrical) are the standard by which all contractors should be compared. From start to finish they were professional, courteous, accommodating, and did outstanding work. And one of the most reassuring signs that we had found the right contractor: they didn't ask for half the money up front (if your contractor asks for all the material costs before doing any work I recommend looking for a different contractor). We had a small master bath completely remodeled, including the replacement of an exterior access cabana door and installation of a vent fan, as well as replacement of our main and service electrical panels (which were out of code), installation of a second vent fan and new 20amp service in our main bathroom, new interconnected smoke detectors, and GFCI outlets in our kitchen. The work was done in a timely fashion and we were kept in the loop every step of the way. The disruption was as little as could be expected with gutting and replacing a bathroom, although having a door directly from the exterior to the bathroom definitely helped in our case. They told us when they would be there and what they'd be doing (and then actually showed up!) so we could make any plans accordingly. On top of all that, the work spanned the birth of our first child and they did everything they could to not be intrusive during that transition. The only issue we ever had was with some of the tile work but as soon as we mentioned our concern to Eamon he said "don't worry, I'll make sure it gets fixed" and that was it! The guys were back the next day and it was done exactly how we asked. The electrician even installed a timer I had bought for our exterior lights that I hadn't gotten around to installing. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I would highly recommend Living Earth Remodelers, even if it means you have to wait for availability in their schedule (news flash: this is a GOOD THING when picking a contractor...it means they are in demand because they do good work).

The experience was first class. Todd was easy to deal with, explained what he was doing, worked quickly and independently, cleaned up after himself very carefully, and charged me a reasonable rate particularly for a small job. I enjoyed the experience so much that I have invited Todd to come back to take down some minor walls and install a pocket door to my master bath.

Nova Exteriors Inc
5.0
They come and give you an estimate, measure the door, walk through your various options. Because we have an old house the doors had to be cut down. We sent with painted steel doors and as such were not able to get a black door (our original front door was black outside white inside). The sales person was able to help me with the colors and provided great suggestions where I needed them. We walked outside and matched the frame of the storm door to our shutters and went with a brick-ish red door with 3/4 Lehi glass. It looks AMAZING! The door is white on the inside and the kitchen door is white inside and out with 1/2 Lehi glass. I believe Nova is putting the before and after on their facebook page as it turned out so well and was such a dramatic transformation. The day the installation team came (two people) they showed up promptly, called 30 minutes out, and went right to work. They tape off the rest of your house so no dust and debris enter and clean up very well when they are done. They worked through a light drizzle at the end and didn't take breaks. They were awesome and I'm so pleased I'm writing my very first Angie's list review.

Chrys The Cleaner Inc
5.0
Chrys came 2 times to complete the handyman jobs, and spent one day cleaning the vacant condo (at which time he finished painting and soffit repair). He came on time with all his equipment. too. Plus, he cleaned up after himself. He took special care to clean between the windows and the runners on the sliding doors. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotless when he finished, and the floors shined brightly with the polish he selected.. I gave his name to the administrator of our condo association and to the Realtor who is listing my condo for sale. He listened carefully and did everything I asked of him in a very professional manner..

Vaughans Door Service
5.0
Dan from Vaughan's Door Service was outstanding. He displayed pride in quality workmanship. Dan was prompt, courteous, efficient and professional. He made sure the view finder in the door was at the appropriate height for my "vertically challenged" mother-in-law. Before leaving, Dan demonstrated that everything was in proper working order and that we were completely satisfied with the work. I will definitely use Vaughan's Door Service for any future needs and highly recommend them to others. Thanks for a job well done!!!

John's Handyhands Carpentry
5.0
John met me on time at the apartment and was able to give me a very fair estimate for the work to be completed. He was always on time and he was able to provide a finished product that exceeded my wildest imagination. Everything he did was of the highest caliber in terms of his workmanship. Since I work during the day he kept me aware by telephone of progress and with questions daily to make sure he installed things the way I wanted them. The end result was that he was able to do it all to my specifications and within my budget. I would definitley recommend John and his company Johns Handyhand Carpentry to anyone who is looking for quality workmanship at an affordable and fair price. John goes the extra mile for his clients and actually provided additional items such as a very high end molding for the pass through window from the living room to the dining room at no extra cost. I only use contractors associated with Angieslist.com and John surpassed my expectations!
