Ten years ago, my late husband and I had Four Seasons Sunroom install a sunroom for us. The fact that this happened ten years ago illustrates how the experience of working with Four Seasons Sunrooms was so negative that time has not erased the feelings of injustice. We were especially vulnerable when we purchased a Four Seasons sunroom as my husband was battling cancer at the time. The porch was supposed to add a little joy to his life despite the pain of cancer. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an enhancement to our lives turned out to be a never ending source of stress. The salesman we met at the beginning sold us a dream, not a sunporch. He was good at selling us a dream, having us contemplate how we wanted to use the sunporch (drinking coffee in the morning, enjoying the scenery, picking out what kinds of features the porch will have, etc) and he was good at getting us to put money down. The purchasing part of doing business with Four Seasons Sunrooms was the easiest part of the process. Four Seasons Sunrooms makes lots of promises with no follow through as we soon enough learned through the entire construction process. The porch took months to complete when we were promised a timeline of weeks. There were many times that crew members were supposed to be at our house to work on the sunroom and never showed. Or they were supposed to be at our home in the morning but didn't arrive until late afternoon. No explanations were ever given except for one time when we asked why hadn't anybody shown up for work at our home and one of the crew members said to us, and quot;Because I had to help a friend move.and quot; Because we were dealing with cancer at the time, many of our days were filled with chemo or radiation or doctor appointments. It was frustrating to set aside days to have our dream porch built, on occasion rescheduling a doctor appointment, only to be stood up by Four Seasons Sunrooms. We felt like prisoners in our own home. As the months rolled on, my husband's condition continued to deteriorate. Perhaps Four Seasons Sunrooms could sense that the two of us weren't going to put up much of a fight because we already had our hands full with a different battle. Besides the unprofessionalism of the crew, we also had to endure purchasing a product that never performed as promised. From the very beginning, the porch leaked. When it rained, it even dripped through the light fixture. They (Four Seasons) were called to fix it. They and quot;repairedand quot; it but it did not fix the problem and in fact, they tried to put the blame on me by saying I needed to keep leaves swept off the roof and that the rest of the problem was due to normal condensation. He basically told us there was nothing else he could do except to extend our warranty by a few months. What good is an extended warranty when you are already told nothing can be done? And by the way, leaves are kept swept off the roof and it still leaks. And it is not normal condensation. The leaks pour through the ceiling and out of the skylights. The leaks have ruined furniture and the carpeting. I have had numerous handymen try to repair it too, all to no avail. Ten years later, the sunroom is basically a sad reminder of a lot of money spent and frustration added on top. I would have pursued more aggressively back then but honestly, I was overwhelmed with my husband's illness and then I was overwhelmed by grief after he passed away.
