I purchased the $200 voucher for 5 hrs of handyman work as I have a long list of "To Dos" around the house as any homeowner would so I thought this was a great deal and opportunity to get some things done in the house. I sent a list of things I would like done in the house so Mr. Willard had an idea of the task. He never did respond to confirm what his services could do on the list or not until the day of the initial appointment on 5/15/2015 which did not actually happen because Mr. Willard contacted me via Angies list message inbox at the time of the appointment to ask me to call him and told me he was going to be 3 hrs late which would be around 5:00 pm that he would arrive at my house to put in 5 hrs. I was extremely annoyed that I took off from work early to be home for the appointment and I told Mr. Willard that it was entirely too late since it would mean he's at my house until 10 pm if he get's here at 5. Mr. Willard was very apologetic about everything and agreed that it was too late to come out at 5:00 and offered to give me an additional 3 hrs making the deal 8hrs of work for $200 which was good. The rescheduled date was 5/21/2015 for the same time 2:00 pm in which I left work early again to be here and Mr. Willard did the same thing again and showed up at 4:50 pm so obviously appointment time means nothing however I allowed it since I just really wanted some of the work done. Again, he was apologetic and had some excuses which I didn't care about since this is the second time and I think that reflects as a lack of respect my time. Mr. Willard had the list of tasks and asked which ones were the top priority so I advised: 1. kitchen sink slow drainage, 2. dry vent hose connection, 3.6 window blinds and screendoor blinds replacement, 4. 2 light fixtures replaced, 5.over the range microwave install (these were the most important on list). Mr. Willard checked the sink plumbing and advised he could not fix and I needed to call a plumber ok fine (side note: I fixed the slow drainage myself a couple days later with a little elbow grease, plunger, hot water and Draino so plumber needed). He installed the screendoor blinds which it took him 1 hr. for whatever reason and installed it 3 1/2 inches too high off the ground, I told him to leave it as is so he can get to so he can get to something else as time is going by. He replaced the 4 blinds (didn't get to the other 2), checked the dryer vent hose connection which he advised that he would need to cut into the Sheetrock due to the defective way the vent was installed within the wall by the builder which I understand he is correct on that as it really was not done right. At 8:00 pm he started preparing to leave so I asked him if he could stay a little later to do some other things as to be quite honest when you move past the initial things that went wrong on his part I actually liked his personality through some small talk during the time he was here for 3 hrs. Anyhow, Mr. Willard advised that it would be best to come back to finish the other things as he was tired "and when your tired you make mistakes" and I agreed since he really did look tired and don't want any mistakes. He wanted to come back the next day in the morning that Friday however I had to be at work so that time didn't work for me. I asked what other time he could do and he told me he would contact me which was fine and he left on a good note with me. Let me just say I waited to give a review of the services on Angies just to give Mr. Willard some time and opportunity to fully redeem his company as I did not want to give him a poor review based on the outcome thus far and the fact that I only got some blinds put in for $200 that I can do myself (which I ended up putting in the other 2 window blinds myself anyways) and will still need to lower the screen door blinds he put up. I waited and waited just to see how long Mr. Willard would take before he contact me to schedule time to come back and was annoyed/disappointing 21/2 weeks went by and then I reached out to him first on 6/8 to try to schedule the apt. I advised him that I just wanted to get the the 2 light fixtures and microwave installed still in boxes on the flr. since he left on 5/21 and I would have left it at that because at least that would make my voucher purchase worth it. The only time he had to offer was 6:00 pm on 6/12 which I initially said no since it soo late especially on a Friday when I have things planned. Anyhow, with much reservation I said yes to that 6:00 pm appointment because again I really wanted to at least get lights and microwave installed. On 6/12 Mr. Willard DID NOT SHOW UP or even call or email to say he could not come or to this day even reached out to me to apologize for basically standing me up. The whole ordeal is very upsetting to me and not even the common curtsey of a call/email from Mr. Willard to say anything and totally wasted my time when I had at least 5 other things I wanted to do with my Friday evening that certainly didn't include sitting around waiting for him to pull a no show....disrespectful and no way to conduct your business.... no excuse unacceptable. Ultimately out of the 5hr. handyman deal for 5 hrs at $200, I got 4 out of 6 non-custom window blinds replaced and a screen door blind replaced that I have to adjust anyways and 3 out of the 5hrs labor (not to mention the additional 3 hrs offered in good faith due to inital mishaps).
