The following complaint was filed with the BBB against Home Front Services owned by Michael Hayworth back in June. It was my hope that he would honor his contract and commitment. He did not respond to the BBB after they attempted to contact him on 3 different occasions. After living with the project for a few months, I?ve also discovered that most of the tile floor that was installed was not installed correctly ? it?s not level. It is extremely dishearten to have spent so much money and be taken advantage of. I?ve already had a plumber fix the sink and the toilet. Having a warranty with the service was one of the main benefits of using Home Front and was one of the deciding factors that I used. Too bad, Home Front did not honor their commitment as to completion of the project, its warranty and supplying the vendor list so that I could search out individual warranties that should be attached with the products like the windows that were installed. Please read the compliant and beware of the services that they offer. On another note, I had my whole house remodeled, Home Front lead me to believe that they were experts and have done this before. Nearing the end of the project and talking to the foreman, I was informed that my home was their first whole horse remodel. Other items in my home I?ll have to fix as I obtained the additional funds to do so. Items that would be covered in the warranty that Home Front Defaulted on. Save your hard earned money and get a contractor that is accredited and a member of the BBB. It will save you in the long run. BBB COMPLIANT Home Front contracted with me to perform a whole house remodel at a cost of $40,944.28. Home Front has been paid in full for the services, home front's final list consisted of the following: 1) Replacing the floor transition that they broke. 2) Patching the 2nd new tub that was chipped during some of their work at the residence (SEE TXT MSG below) 3) Securing the kitchen faucet that spins 35 degrees 4) Regrouting the shower and tub area due to the fact that it was pulling away from the walls after only a couple of weeks 5) Reposition the security lock on the front door due to the fact that it would not lock 6) Furnish a complete list of items used in the remodel for reference - paint colors and codes, tile name, grout colors, carpet choice and to include the place of purchase so that if needed items could be easily found. The list that was sent to me was incomplete and actually listed incorrect items that I did not pick for the project. The list in itself says that no attention to detail was used in the process. I am guessing that was why the wrong tile was installed in the master bathroom. I informed home front that I wanted to be home for the completion of the project and was told that their best patch person who was assigned to patch the tub suffered from high blood pressure and it would be best that no one be there. I granted the request but was under the impression that only the tub area would be worked on. Upon coming home one evening it was discovered that items 2-5 were attempted to be fixed, but they was unsuccessful at it. The grout is still pulling away from the walls, which will cause a major water issue eventually (an item home front should be concerned with) also grout was left on the tub and that specific area of the house that they worked in was a left in a mess, not uncommon for home front. The tub patch is extremely noticeable and not a complete color match (I was told special paint was ordered for this). The door lock does work now but the stain patch job on door was not blended in. Extremely noticeable and the Sink faucet still turns 35 degrees. For some reason home front does not want the property owner to be home while preforming the final touches. I can only assume that the person preforming the work is unskilled as obvious from the work performed. While checking and grout sealing the floor it was discovered that 8 tiles were chip or cracked and most of which were hidden by grout. Which I believe was a deliberate attempt to hide faulty workmanship and or materials. Also my daughter discovered that one of the toilets is not fully connected to the floor. It is quite embarrassing having people over and the toilet wobbles and the sink faucet comes off. Not to mention that one of the new ceiling fans makes a horrible noise. Upon finding these other items I informed home front that I wanted them fixed and I received am email from the owner titled "the end" - that they were done. To date home front has been paid in full and they have not completed the punch list items and also refused to fix the others items to which according to the contract, the work came with a one year warranty Home front has defaulted on their agreement. The owner of home front also at one time told the office manager not to have any communication with me because she was finding items that needed attention during the process.(TXT message attached) The owner was also so bold to email me and state that I damaged these items and that I was just an unhappy person. I'm glad he knows me so well but people should be careful of judging others. I certainly would not damage my home, one in which I've paid over $40,000 to improve - I'm been giving home front the pleasure of doing that for the last several weeks. Never the less the fact remains that home front has been paid and the work is not finished. The owner of home front at one time even said "I didn't price you for a Colleyville job". Now what does that mean? He never elaborated on it when I asked him. But I informed him how offended that comment made me - I can only assume that he prices his job by zip code or has a different crew to perform the higher end homes. Needless to say extremely unprofessional and very degrading for the client Resolution: I have no trust in home front, the list of items above does not describe the whole experience with them. I'll save that for other social media sites. If home front wants to make this right I would prefer another company to perform the work at their expense. One that is accredited by the BBB. Two excerpts from the contract are: All work is covered by our 1 year warranty. We are fully insured. Disputes If a dispute arises that cannot be resolved directly, customer agrees to keep the matter private and if necessary utilize the services of a mediator whose cost shall be shared equally. I assume that the email I received from home front titled ?the END? eradicates me from all contractual obligations such as the section on disputes. Home Front did not offer me the mediator approach and they have stated that they have no intentions of making this right. I will in turn reach out and post my reviews on all site that I may find appropriate for this situation including any governmental/state regulatory sites. Also home front still has a key to my home which they have not returned. I would like this immediately ? FedEx or sent certified mail so that it can be tracked. I assume Home Front knows that until the key is returned I will hold them liable for any and all issues related to any missing items from my home. It would be in their best interest to return the key. Gregory Ellis Home Owner '
