I spoke with Melody Chambers and she told me to purchase some Ready Seal sealant from the hardware store. Upon doing so, the workers would come out the following day and power wash the deck then apply the sealant. All of which I was told would take place the same day. Two gentlemen came out the morning of Tuesday, March 25 and had forgotten the power washer. They had to return later that morning to power wash the deck, which needed time to dry. They sent a message to my wife at noon saying “The deck is going to take around 2-3 hours to completely dry before spraying the stain. We are going to hit our next job and return around 4pm”, which they later changed to 9am the following morning. I came home that evening and looked at the deck and noticed it didn’t look like it had been power-washed very well as the existing stain was still very prevalent. I’ll caveat this by saying the existing stain was a somewhat dark shade of brown, but the power-washer should have stripped same. After they applied the stain the following day, I noticed that the deck is now two-toned. I messaged Calvin McKnight (one of the gentlemen mentioned previously) at the number he had left w/ my wife and voiced my concern that the deck was not done to my satisfaction. He said he was willing to apply a second coat if I were to purchase the sealant. However, given the shoddy work on the first pass, I’m hesitant to allow same. I reached out to Melody 2 or 3 times, via Angie’s List messages, to discuss these concerns, but did not receive a response. Additionally, I recently had some concrete poured adjacent to my deck and the workers got pecan colored stain overspray on said concrete. I can provide photos upon request.
