Dallas Vinyl Plank Flooring Installation

John is a good salesman, and seems like a nice guy. But if you need something re-done (in my case the living room floor was prepared (trowelled) poorly, so the ripples showed through the vinyl planks. Took him 1 month to come over and look at it once I paid him for job- it wasn't obvious when I paid him- but in the mornings or evenings, you could really see the ripples. Came over after 1 month (and me threatening to sue him), and looked at floor in living room. Agreed to fix it at his expense. I offered to provide replacement vinyl, which I thought was more than generous. After another month (2 months total) and countless excuses, I am fed up with waiting. Will have another contractor tear-out old vinyl, float floor, and install new flooring. I will see John in court. Beware!!!

Excellent job. Contacted Ted's Flooring for an estimate and Jose came out to our location. Jose walked the area that needed repair and new flooring installed. He did a mock up of the area on his iPad and showed me how many square feet that would be. We had relocated a sales counter. Where the counter was originally placed it did not have any flooring. I needed flooring installed in this area which also required some repairing to the existing flooring. Jose explained the process and the scope of the job. He told me he would have the bid to me within a couple of hours because he needed to confirm pricing on the glue that the flooring required (we provided the flooring because we had enough left over from the original install). Jose provided the bid within the hour. We scheduled the date for the work to be completed. The installers arrived on time and with everything they needed for the job. About half way through the job Jose stopped by to check on the progress of the job and he also introduced me to Ted (the owner). I was surprised to see Jose and I was really surprised that the owner also stopped in. The workers did a great job and cleaned up well after they completed the job.

We asked Metroplex Flooring to replace all the flooring in a living room, kitchen, and laundry room and needed it done in a tight time frame. We ordered custom vinyl plank flooring that had to be ordered in. Metroplex Flooring was able to get the flooring ordered, delivered and installed in our time frame. Additionally I really felt that the install team took the extra time to make sure that the necessary floor prep work was done properly before putting down the new floor. The floor looks fabulous. Everything went very smoothly. The installers arrived on time and they worked non-stop for two days. It really shows that they took their time. They were very professional and friendly and they cleaned up very well. I would definitely recommend Flooring Direct and would use them in the future if/when I decide to replace the rest of our carpet.

..I contacted Carol Johns Flooring through Angie's list and was Michael promptly responded andl, arranged an appointment where he brought samples. We discussed why I was looking to cover the wood floors( to best deal with dog pee odor). Michael discussed the pros of vinyl planks over sheet flooring and I decided that was the most reasonable way to go. We discussed the "pet treatment" they offered and his opinion that it would not alone take care of the problem- I did have this 'pet treatment' done in addition to the new flooring. The guys who removed the floor were very careful with my belongings and very fast at their job. They also did an amazing job at layiing down the new planks. The work could have been done the same week I med with Michael, but we had to delay it to get painters in there first., so the work was done about 2 weeks after initial meeting and deciding what was best done. I would never have thought this quality of work could have been done so quickly, but I was here to see most of it, and it definately was. I will surely use this company again when I have any flooring problems and would highly recommend them.

I had a bad experience with Lumber Liquidators so I cancelled my order and found At Your Service. Flooring (not knowing they were on Angie"s List). I walked into the store the owner and sales people were so friendly and helpful. I picked out the flooring and put half down. They really could not have been nicer or easier to work with. I can not say the same for the contractor that they sent out to install the floors. However, they did a nice job with a few mistakes. The store called almost every day to set up an appointment for another crew to come in and go over the floor and fix any problems. Although they could have, they did not charge me the final payment until I told them I was happy with the work. After the remodel was complete and the floors uncovered At Your Service Flooring sent a new crew to make all repairs as well as clean the floors. I love the product and the floors look great!

A friend recommended Robert for flooring, he is professional, prompt, and reliable. The flooring was done so well, our contractor was so impressed he said he’s going to recommend him from now on. We were so happy we have already referred other people, including my aunt who he finished her floors last week! Him and his crew were so nice. I haven’t been able to say the same thing of everyone who helped remodel our house but they went above and beyond! I highly recommend Upward Flooring.

Great customer service. Love the fact that they bring the samples to you instead of you having to drive to showroom. In fact, when I read another comment on here when I was looking, It is one of the main reasons I chose them. Everyone from office/sales and installer were super nice and easy to talk to. All work was completed as described and on time.

Met sales man @ DFW home show. He came out & gave us a quote, we signed. After 2 delays on our part, floor was installed. Install crew went above & beyond. Everyone has been amazing!

I worked with Project Manager Lisa Realini throughout all phases of the project. Lisa helped me by explaining different flooring and baseboard options, providing multiple samples to review, and walking through several conversations to help me decide what would be the best choice(s) for my house. Once the installation began, I met with Lisa and crew at the beginning and end of each day (2.5 days) to discuss everything from plank layout and furniture needing extra care to reviewing the day's progress and next steps. Everyone was timely and professional, and the work was very well done. At the end of the project, I reviewed a short list of loose ends with Lisa, and she and the crew leader promptly came back and finished everything up. Lisa focused on making sure I was completely satisfied with the project before considering it complete. She even provided advice on upkeep and cleaning and left a 'starter kit' for me! The flooring is beautiful and perfect for my needs (I have dogs and am so happy with the waterproof product!). It's everything I was promised. I don't think that I would have known the best thing to do without the attention to detail and expertise provided by Lisa and the crew. I ended up with exactly what I wanted/needed.

Perfect in every way!. They delivered on every time commitment and the quality of workmanship and professionalism from Siegfried Ehmke and the installation team was an A++. Every detail was handled completely, and they did a terrific job of cleaning up as well. I would give Simmons my highest recommendation for any and all needs. They are very easy to do business with, and I will be using them again for some carpeting in my home next year.

Simmons crew arrived on time, assessed the layout and began work, promised completion was from Tuesday till Saturday. The crew was always courteous, and kept us informed througout the process. If a question arose they advised us of the issue then solved the problem. They moved from room to room being careful not to disrupt our normal activities to much. The job was completed on time with no cost surprises and it was perfect. We could have left the house for a week and when we returned we would have wondered if they had been here, the furniture from the largest sofa to the smallest lamp was right where we had left them. The experience from the time we walked into there store till the job was completed and paid for was exceptional. I would use them again for any floor service and recommend them highly.

I asked the salesman to recommend flooring that would hold up to rollerblades and waterguns. I have two boys ages 5 and 10 and a two year daughter so I needed something that would hold up well. The sales man recommended the vinyl plank flooring. He told me it was scratch resistant and safe for wet areas like the bathroom. I thought it would be perfect as well. The sales man told me it would take two days for the demo of old floors and install of the vinyl. The whole process took a full three days. The installers never showed up before 10:30 a.m. and stayed until after 6 or 7 p.m. each day. I never said anything becuase I i was so excited to have new floors, but that really cut into my dinner time and getting kids ready for school the next day. When the contractors first showed up they failed to introduce themselves and they acted as if they spoke little english. It wasn't until day three that I realized the second contractor knew english. I thought that was rude and frustrating. I had a hard time communicating with other man as well. I felt as if he didn't understand everything I said or asked. The contractors did the demo and install. Afterwards I had some vinyl pieces that were not laying flat and some edges were popping up. It appeard the glue was not sticking good. I called to have the contractors come back out. They were scheduled to come back out on 12/8/11 between 10 and 2. On 12/8/11 I received a call at 1:45 pm from the contractors saying he would be late and could come at 5pm. At 7:30 pm the contractor finally showed up. I had kids in the shower and was trying to get them in bed. I had already given up on them showing up. He wanted to go in the bathroom but my 10 year old son was in there. I had the contractor look at the other areas and asked my son to get out of the shower. I showed him all the areas and all he said was we'll have to order some more vinyl and come back to fix the areas that are not glued well. The next day I called Donna in the office to let her know what had happened. She set up for the installation manager to come out and take a look. She was very nice and helpful. I met with the installation manager on 12/14/11. He was very courteous and showed up on time. I showed him the areas that I was having problems with as well as the areas where they had left glue on the tub and floor and didn't clean up after themselves. He said he would have them clean everything up, correct the floors and leave me some extra planks for future issues. On 12/22/11 the contractors are back out replacing planks. They tried to tell me that some were popping up because they had water under them. I really don't know how they would have water under them when I had not mopped the floor. I had only used a damp cloth to clean up spills/sticky areas. Plus, if the floors are supposed to be ideal for water areas like the bathroom and kitchen; why would this make a difference and how would water penetrate the floor so easily? They had only brought out one box of replacement vinyl so they were not able to replace all the planks I was having trouble with. They rolled the floors with a 100 lb roller and said that should make the other lay flat. They did not clean the glue of the side of my tub or on the floors in the master bath but they caulked the tub in the hall bath. They didn't even clean the old caulk off and they did it without asking. Now I have to scrape it off and do it correctly, myself. I am still having problems in my kitchen and bathroom behind my toilet but I am sick of them being at my house. Hopefully they will stick to their claim of the one year warrantly. I will have them out to attempt to fix it again in a couple of months. At this time I would not recommend this company to anyone and I would not use them again. I'm hoping they come through for me and I can use them again in the future. I've had a lot of work done on my house this year including: foundation work, painting, new gutters and floors. I am not a picky customer but I spent approximately 8k on this project and want floors that will last me at least 10 years. I made that clear to the salesman and I'm not satisfied with the product or installation. I have already noticed the floors are scratching in a few places as well.

I called Peek's Flooring Co for an estimate for Resilient Vinyl Planks to be installed in a hallway and small bedroom (approx 250 sq ft total). I had used Peek's in Plano in 2008 and was very pleased with the Vinyl Planks I had installed. When I called Peek's Richardson (which was closer than Peek's Plano) to see if they could tell me the cost per square foot of the 2008 job, they were able to pull up my records and tell me exactly what I ordered, which cost about $2,800 for 585 sq feet. The person I spoke with was able to tell me by square foot how much the material cost, the cost for removal of the existing flooring, and for installation of the new type of flooring. I did my own calculations and thought the price was reasonable and scheduled time for an in-home measurement. My appt was on Thursday, 11/10/2011 at 2pm for the measurement & estimate. On the day of the appt, the representative arrived approximately 20 minutes late with no phone call, and did not introduce himself or bother to hand me a business card or anything. My house was in a sort of disarray (I am preparing for a new roommate) and I think this sales person was put off by it. He said, here are some samples, and I looked them over and asked his opinion on what would look best in the area and he responded with, "It's whatever you want." I asked what colors made the area seem bigger or smaller, and he said, "I don't really know." I decided on two different materials and asked for an estimate for both and offered him a seat to do the figures. He said he could not do the estimate at that time, that he could get it to me by SATURDAY, 2 days later. He said he had a doctor's appointment the next day. At this time, it was approximately 3pm on Thursday so I guess he had no plans to return to the office that day or he had other appointments. I asked about the possibility of getting the flooring installed within a week and he said it would be very possible, but could not guarantee it, because there was only one person at Peek's (for multiple stores) who had been trained install that type of flooring. I felt that the representative (whoever he was, I never did get a name) should have passed on the measurements to another associate so that I could get an estimate in a more timely fashion. On Saturday at 3pm, I still had not heard from the representative so I called Peek's to check on status. I was quoted two prices - $1,967 for option 1 and $2,009 for option 2. Yes, for 245 square feet of flooring that costs $2.80 per square foot. Installation costs were over $1,000 for both jobs. I asked him to review his prices with me since they were VERY high compared to the calculations I did myself based on the prices he quoted me over the phone. One of the mistakes was he was adding for some sort of transition between vinyl and carpet (there was no carpet) and he also added for quarter-round that I specifically told him I did not like or want. Even with removing those two mistakes, there was still only $200 difference in his quotes. Definitely overpriced and customer service was not good. Would not recommend to anyone.

The workers were on time and got to work immediately. They tore up old flooring (after moving the furniture) quickly. They also cleaned up as they were working and did an excellent job finishing the installation.
