Reviews in Dallas for Cabinet Hardware Installation

Handyman Matters Collin County

I called and got a quote and the lady who answered the phone gave me a quote for installation of door knobs. I was given a quote of $1600 dollars for just installation fee for cabinet knobs. I was puzzled and shocked at the pricing and informed that I already have the hardware and just need installation and at that point she became very irritated and told me that $1600 is the price

Home Front Renovations

Overall the project went great. Dallas was the sales rep/contractor that came out to bid on the project and was the one to oversee the project. Nice guy, knowledgeable. His quote came in just right for us so we went with Home Front. Keith and another contractor showed up at 7am sharp on the first day, just as Dallas had stated they would, to demo the counter tops. Each day they seemed very busy and always working. The job took 10 days (8 working days) and they did a fantastic job. We had a few minor issues here and there, as you would with any construction company, but the overall value I received was well worth the money. One the of the contractors didn't show up a few times, not sure what that was about, but Keith was there every day he said he would be, and never 5 minutes after the time he said he would be there. Small issue at the end of the project, with just a few hours to go, with the garbage disposal and how it would fit. I was told one thing wouldn't be an issue, and it ended up being an issue when I had no other choice but to fix it, and it cost me $200. Also an issue with my old granite. It was leaning when they removed it, so when they leveled the new counter tops, they had to add a piece of trim right between the cabinet and counter top. They did not charge me for this and it was much appreciated it. They also did not charge me for the extra two coats of paint that was needed to ensure no bleed through of the stain on the cabinet. In the scheme of things, I got my money's worth, and the product is great. I plan on using them for bathroom and 1st floor/flooring (assuming bid comes in right), whenever we get to that. I would recommend them to others.

AwEsOmE! ** Willard touched base with me right away to schedule - I even had to reschedule at the last minute and he was very friendly and accommodating. On the day of service Willard and his helper Lupe arrived on time and were anxious to get started to work. I gave them my list of "to-do's" and we discussed priorities. I could tell right away that Willard is the kind of Handyman I have been dreaming of! He is very meticulous in every way and he does not cut corners to get the job done quickly. His work is clean and precise and he pays attention to all of the details. Willard is in the process of training his helper Lupe. Throughout the day the two men would communicate with each other often to double check their work and lend a helping hand. Both Willard and Lupe have such a professional attitude and work ethic. I look forward to having Willard and Lupe work on many more projects in my home.

Everything looks great, and exceeded expectations. Mike was great about providing advice on things I was considering, and he also was open to me adding a few extra things after the fact like hanging pictures. I am very grateful for his help, as three other people had flaked out on me and did not bother to call back or show up for appointments. He was always on time and did what he said he would do.

New Era Remodeling & Repairs, LLC
1.0
We contracted with David Sabet of New Era to caulk/paint our new patio door, both sides, and to replace/paint some siding. The quality of their workmanship is unacceptable. The exterior paint job was extremely messy, with the paint slopped onto the metal window trim and not cleaned up. David's resolution was to paint OVER the metal trim, which looks even worse. His response to our complaint about the paint streaks, poor coverage and clumps on our brand new door was to fix it ourselves! AFTER he finished painting, he claimed that the unsightly results were due to the oil-based paint that we had provided him and that we had exhausted our budget, therefore he would not be helping us fix his mess. New Era's contract provides a one-year workmanship guarantee and states: "If you ever find any problems related to the work done for you during the guarantee period listed above, we will gladly fix the problems free of charge!" Yet when we asked him to help us, he flatly refused. He claimed we were supposed to have provided him with latex paint, not oil-based, but this was NOT stipulated in his contract nor mentioned when we gave him the paint. We provided the same trim/door paint that had recently been used during other home improvements with excellent results (by another painter). In addition, we asked him prior to the scheduled work to bring wood putty to fill in the nail indentions on the door trim. He didn't do this and later said the putty would have required a day to dry so that step didn't fit into the schedule. We have many photos of the issues described here, plus written documentation of all communication on both sides. David's email response to our complaint contained a list of excuses about his poor paint job -- the heat of the sun, the type of paint, the need for an additional trip to get a different brush and paint thinner, etc. Yet he had been to our home, evaluated the door and its location, never requested a particular type of paint -- and perhaps most important, NEVER communicated any of these concerns before or even as he was working. Our full contract with New Era included one other job -- installation of kitchen cabinetry hardware, which was completed first. When our door delivery was delayed slightly by the manufacturer, we contacted David to see if it would be more convenient for him to do all the work at the same time rather than make separate trips, but he chose instead to schedule the jobs separately. We have the email where he made this choice himself, yet after the botched paint job he claimed that the "extra" trip was a factor in our budget being exhausted. Because New Era came to us as a referral and David installed the hardware to our satisfaction, we went ahead and paid him in full prior to the painting work. We are first-time homeowners and have certainly learned a lesson there, but it is a shame that he would take advantage of that. We now have a brand new door that is an embarrassment. New Era has ruined our investment. When David refused to correct his mistakes, we asked if he would at least sand the paint off the door for us. He refused. We then requested a partial refund so we could get someone else to help us fix it, but he continued to ignore us. We have been articulate, reasonable and professional in our communication, while David has been rude and sarcastic. Based on his response to a previous BBB complaint, we realize he may have blocked our email and might "diagnose" us as "mentally ill" (as he did with someone who previously complained about his work), but it would be very difficult for him to factually refute our photographic and written documentation (including the words that he himself wrote and emailed). We emailed him three times after he ended his work on the project and left him one telephone message, but he certainly cannot claim we have harassed him as he did with the previous BBB complainant. It will be interesting to see how he can twist these documented facts in his favor. NOTE: The above represents our original Better Business Bureau complaint regarding New Era. For a more complete picture of the company's (delayed) response, as well as our rebuttal to it and the BBB's closing comment ("The business failed to resolve the complaint issues"), you can copy and paste the link below: http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/remodeling-services/new-era-remodeling-and-repairs-in-plano-tx-90309632/complaints#breakdown SUMMARY: If you ask New Era Remodeling to uphold its written workmanship warranty and simply fix what they have done poorly (in our case, literally ruining the appearance of a brand new door as well as the solar panel casings around exterior windows), you will be ignored. If you persist, you will be told you have OCD and that the guarantee does not apply to you because you are "picky." Despite extensive written and photographic documentation of his unacceptable work, the owner maintains that we should be pleased and says that anything we don't like is OUR fault, and we should rectify it ourselves. We would be happy to share all documentation with anyone who cares to review it. Let the buyer beware: If you care about the appearance of your home and do not appreciate being "diagnosed" with a mental disorder by a handyman, you might want to keep looking!

Hired Lawton for the second time to come through the house and clean up after a previous contractor. The price was excellent with high quality work. They take pride in their product and the owner is onsite each day. The initial estimate included touching up the paint where the previous contractor did not have crisp lines and uneven distribution. When they began touching it up they noticed the previous contractor was not mixing paint thoroughly so the color gradient was changing throughout the walls. They did not change the estimate, but ended up repainting the entire interior of the home because "we want the finished product to look professional". Highly recommend.

Everything went great! From the moment I first attempted to establish service and make an appointment, David was attentive and responsive. He arrived on time, was cheerful, articulate, friendly, polite, and well-groomed. Before starting, we walked around the house so I could point out the things that needed fixing. He thoroughly explained the process he would use to strip the old caulking in our shower, clean the joints with alcohol, and reseal with new silicone caulk. I was concerned about water getting into a bench in our shower, so he pulled the marble seat up to check, explained to me the way it was structured to prevent water damage, and resealed it. I was very appreciative of him taking the time to put my mind at ease. He carried all the necessary caulking and repair materials on his truck, so I didn't have to worry about a dash to the store. After completing the shower caulking, David took care of several other things for us, including a nail pop in the ceiling of our guest bedroom, loose clothing rails in our master closet, and the installation of cabinet hardware in our kitchen and two bathrooms. In just a couple of hours, he was able to take care of just about everything! He had drywall mud on his truck to repair the nail pop, and he reinforced the closet racks since the builder had missed the studs. He easily and quickly installed the cabinet hardware in kitchen and 2 bathrooms. When he discovered that the screws included in the drawer pulls were too short, he volunteered to run to the store to get what he needed. I had to leave for an appointment, so we scheduled a follow-up a couple of days later so he could finish the cabinet hardware installation. Again, he arrived on-time (early, in fact!) and was prepared and ready to go. Both times, he was neat and tidy, cleaning up after himself with a shop vac and leaving no trace that work had been done. When I've hired workmen in the past, I've often been left with muddy boot prints in my shower, clutter, and dust all over the place. When David was finished, everything was spotless. In addition to the $99 I paid to Angie's List, the total bill for the rest of the visit came to about $150.00. I thought that was a great price, especially considering that he had to come back twice. His work is wonderful. The shower looks great, the nail pop is undetectable, the closet racks are sturdy, and the cabinet hardware looks terrific! I'm super happy with everything, and we will definitely be calling David again! I HIGHLY recommend his services!

Neil and Lawton Construction were amazing. He was extremely responsive and finished by the deadline we set. We continually added to his "to do" list, and he still made the deadline. The work was excellent for the price, and we would certainly use him again. His crew was thorough and efficient. He was able to do all kinds of work and left the house clean and orderly every day. I really appreciated his communication and willingness to be at the job site personally everyday. He also went out of his way to find the hardwood we needed to repair part of the floor. I am very impressed he was able the complete all the work in two weeks and stick to our original time line!

We cannot ask for a better experience, a turnkey experience. Contractor was extremely detail oriented, very thorough, neat, and well organized. Contractor explains cabinet design alternatives and provides price point options. We opted for more expense solid Maple wood materials, and multiple cabinet redesigns. All base cabinet shelves and doors were redesigned and replaced with cabinet drawers. Storage now significantly more useful..!! All cabinet drawers, drawer faces, and cabinet doors are solid maple material. We selected Sherwin Williams paint color and contractor matched the color and utilized within his paint finish process (multiple coats of primer, color and clear finish). Cabinets are very durable. Cabinet hardware is substantial and appears top of line, with soft close doors. Incorporated new trash can drawer and separate cooking utensil / knife / cutting board drawer within existing base cabinet footprint. Scott is a true craftsman (and perfectionist), to say the least. We are extremely happy.

Gustavo came and took measurements, brought door samples, wood and color choices. When we told him exactly what door style we were looking for, he said that it would be no problem at all. We showed him a picture of what we had in mind and he was able to not only duplicate it but make it better by adding some custom touches. We had solid maple vanity cabinets built (one was 96", one was 35") and a 42"h x 31"w wall cabinet for the water closet. The construction is spectacular. Gustavo and his co workers started them on Tuesday and they were ready for our inspection (complete) on Thursday. Their attention to detail and fit is outstanding. If you have a drawing or picture of a door that you want made, they will be able to replicate it and make it better than you can imagine. They put a very unique toe kick on the vanities that I just love. Very high end quality. We had a built in gas fireplace in the bedroom that was so unassuming and boring, most people wouldn't have even noticed it. We had Logan Construction make a mantel, surround, side posts and feet. It is outstanding workmanship. I feel badly for the other person who left a comment here on Angies, about not being able to get a bid from them. If they had, they'd have been truly happy with the work that Logan would have done for them. They have never failed to do top quality work, in record time and they stand behind their construction and finish. Kudos to them!

He set it up with the ladies at the house, went over and fixed everything on the list and more! My tenants really like his work and personality and have more items they want done now. DE Flooring Granite Remodeling
5.0
My wife and I hired DE Flooring Granite Remodeling to install new floors on our home and we are very, very pleased with the work they did for us. Before moving into our new home in Houston we shopped around for home remodeling contractors in the area. We were not pleased, most if not all of these companies only did the work, the client was responsible for everything else. As you can imagine that would have been a monumental task for my wife and I as we were living in Dallas at the time. We continued looking for contractors in the Houston area and were blessed to find DE Flooring Granite Remodeling. The thing that initially impressed me about DE Flooring Granite Remodeling and the Abdul was his passion for his work. You can tell he loves what he does and it shows in the quality of this work. DE Flooring Granite Remodeling had materials on site for us to look at, flooring, granite, cabinet hardware, everything! But there?s more, the customer service was outstanding! When ever my wife and I had questions I could call Abudl and he would always take time to speak to us about the work being done. *Note, I had a problem with a contractor, the contractor was rude, worse ever. I called Abdul about this and he addressed the issue immediately. Abdul took ownership and stands by his word, which is rare this day and time. He took complete responsibility for the entire job, materials, everything. DE Flooring Granite Remodeling exceeded our expectations, we love our new home, wonderful. DE Flooring Granite Remodeling and Abdul are the best!

lThis is the second house that Craig has worked on for me. We gutted the shower, garden tub, etc. in the Master Bath. Plumbing was original to the house and had to be replaced. Removed wallcovering and dated wainscot paneling, countertops, sheet mirror, flourescent tube lighting and popcorn ceilings. This bathroom now looks like a spa. Craig and his guys were meticulous and detail oriented in all phases of this project. The only thing we kept in this bath was the doors and cabinetry. Craig installed new downlighting, textured and painted ceilings and walls, new granite countertops, framed mirrors, jetted tub, raised ceiling and head in shower, new frameless glass shower enclosure, new commode, vent fans and detailed custom tile work in shower, tub area and on floor. He also painted the master closet shelving, walls and ceiling. The kitchen was next with removal of old laminate countertops, wall covering, paneling and flooring. His guys patiently stripped the wood cabinets and added a new one to match existing, then stained all to a perfect match. New granite countertops, custom tile backsplash, tile flooring, down lighting, installed new microwave and cooktop, new pantry shelving, hardware and painting. His guys were punctual and professional throughout. They are very careful to save all "parts" of cabinet hardware, window treatment parts, etc. until the job is complete to make sure nothing critical accidentally disappears. Craig is very good about thinking through the process to anticipate any problems and be prepared for them. Will use him again for sure.

DFW Improved
5.0
The overall project was well done. This was an extensive remodel and took a cramped, horseshoe shaped bathroom, with 2 entry doors, his/hers vanities on each side, and walk in closets in each corner, and turned it an open, airy, fabulous bathroom. The design idea was by Gary St. John, one of the owners, and it turned out far better than we imagined. It was truly a case of Gary saying, ?You?ll have to trust me on this,? and we are very glad we did! His advice was dead on and produced an inviting space that adds value to our home. This is the 3rd project we?ve done with DFW Improved, and in each case, the company provided professional project managers and sub-contractors that produced excellent results. Although there were a few minor issues, DFW Improved took ownership and quickly resolved the issues to my satisfaction. DFW Improved is a great company to do business with, and is now the ONLY company that will do work of this nature in our home.

Recent Review: My wife and I hired DE Flooring Granite Remodeling to install new floors on our home and we are very, very pleased with the work they did for us.

What do customers in Dallas say about Installing Cabinet Hardware?

I had a smaller job than their usual, just installing knobs on kitchen cabinets and handing a light fixture, however, Roman and Patryk were amazing! They were quick and punctual and completed the job beautifully. Very nice family oriented business! You can tell they truly care.
