Shawn did a wonderful job remodeling both of my bathrooms. They were total remodels, including new cabinets, toilets, shower, bath tub, paint, base boards, etc. Shawn was on time every day, always kept me informed about how things were going, and is a perfectionist. The new bath rooms are perfect, and everyone who comes over remarks at how great they turned out. I would recommend Shawn to do any remodel project you need done. He is a great guy, honest, and very easy to work with. Thanks Shawn

DW Varady
5.0
The renovation exceeded our expectations. David's estimate was very detailed yet clear. Accounting for some fixture upgrades that my wife and I chose to do, the estimate was spot on. What he estimated is what we paid. David showed up when he said he would and cleaned up the work site before he left for the day. Two things stand out. One, that David is really good at what he does. I work from home most days each week, and I was able to see his progress up close. I like how he explained to me what particular thing he was working on, and why he was doing it the way he did, and the quality that would result by doing it the right way. Two, that he was very invested in the job. He wanted us to have a beautiful bathroom, and he went the extra mile to make that happen. He added a stunning crown molding (where we had none before) with perfect corners. He made sure the floor was perfect after fixing an unexpected problem with the joists and subfloor. He made sure the walls and ceiling were perfect before painting them. I highly recommend DW Varady to anyone looking for a bathroom remodel. or just about anything that requires the skill and integrity of a good contractor or master craftsman

Desborough Construction Inc

We bought an Angies list big deal to have a custom designed bathroom plan, provided by Desborough construction. John showed up on time and spent well over an hour discussing our needs, and determined we really weren't in need of a custom design and refunded the original cost of the service. john later provided us a quote to meet our renovation needs. We are very impressed with his honesty and the extent to which he exceeded our expectations

This is our second go around with John Desborough, being very pleased with the previous bathroom and bedroom renovation he had done about a year ago. The bathroom to be renovated, while perfectly serviceable, was of low quality with respect to the rest of the house, and we wanted to bring it up to par. He came out when it was convenient for us, and emailed an intemized estimate. Based on our first experience, we knew that John wasn't the cheapest, but the quality of the work was well worth it. He estimated less than 2 weeks for the reno. Payment was for materials cost up front (primarily the tub, vanity, and countertop), then half of the labor at the start of the renovation, and the remainder at completion. The work included custom vanity with carrara marble top, custom mirror, new tub, two shower niches, installation of carrara marble tile on the floor and shower, recentering of the light box, replacement bath fan with installation of a new switch, raising the shower head, moving a floor vent, repainting with two coats, and installation of all the fixtures (most of which we purchased ourselves during a sale at Restoration Hardware). We also picked up the tile ourselves at the Tile Shop, which extended to us John's usual contractors discount. The only thing not replaced was the toilet. Prior to starting they put tarps on all of the furniture in the adjoining bedroom, as well as tarps on the stairs where they were going to be walking. Demolition took about half a day, and started the bathtub and shower work the first day, with no time wasted. Every night, they vaccuumed and cleaned the work area, and showed us the work in progress. Any concerns were fixed the next day without any grumbling, including when the light fixture and mirror were initially installed too low. When it came to the shower tile, we specified a general pattern to be used, but nothing specific for the niches. The resulting design that they came up with made us very happy. The work progressed rapidly and would have been done earlier than the two weeks estimated, but was delayed an additional week because the marble countertop for the vanity wasn't ready yet. That being said, everything else was cleaned up, and the shower and toilet were functional during this time. Once the counter was in, Nate (one of the great guys working with John) came by the next day and finished the installation of the vanity faucet and drain. We are thrilled with the new bathroom! It looks fantastic, and their attention to detail shows. The tile is level and square. The grout lines are straight. The edges are sealed appropriately and cleanly. Also, whoever installed the original vanity had damaged the trim around a window trying to fit the corian counter. Prior to installation of the new vanity, John had this repaired even though I hadn't mentioned it to him at all. All the marble was sealed with 2 coats, again without prompting. The polished chrome remained unscratched. And everything was dusted off and fingerprint free. John Desborough and his crew are highly recommended, and I think you get every penny's worth out of these guys

Adam and his team were nice, professional and easy to work with. We had a few delays and scheduling issues, some of which were outside their control. They were very responses and committed to the job until I was happy with every detail. Even after the job was completed and paid for, Adam remained available to answer questions and address minor issues

McHugh's Plumbing Inc
5.0
I found Bob McHugh's plumbing service through Angie's List. I've work with Bob multiple times over the past handful of years, from repairing leaking pipes to bathroom upgrades. Bob and his crew do good work and Bob, as the owner, has checked every job or called to make sure all went well. Currently, we're upgrading two bathrooms in our 1941 house, even replacing a 1941 toilet. Bob came in advance of the work to understand the work to be done and the schedule, has been very accommodating on schedule, has checked on the work done by his crew, is very attentive to detail, and, best, he knows what he's doing. His rates are reasonable. I can't recommend McHugh's enough

Della Vella Remodel
1.0
The Master has been a nightmare. I was told it was an eight week project (that started approximately at the end of February) and now I have hired another contractor to gut the master and start over. There has been a complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General and I am meeting with my attorney next week. I have had the project inspected and the inspector stated the project is not up to code and it was one of the worst jobs he has seen. Mr. Della Vella redid the grout 5 times and it is still crumbling. He installed broken and chipped tiles, the shower drain is not up to code, he sawed through the wall into the master bedroom, he had to paint 4 times to get the paint job right. There is still ceiling paint on the grey walls and grey paint on the celing. I had the house professionally cleaned twice because of the mess that was made. They actually helped themselves to my new vacuum (obvioulsy opening my closet to get it), used my shop vac and some of my painting supplies. Please see the pictures below

GEROME'S KITCHENS & BATHS
5.0
MEMBER NEEDED A SHOWER INSTEAD OF A BATH TUBE AND NEEDED A GRAB BAR. THE COMPANY DID WELL WITH THE REQUEST. REDID TILE, VANITY, MEDICINE CABINETS, AND BATHROOM LIGHT.
I worked with Scott on the project design. He was prompt, answered all of my questions and helped me pick out the products. I also worked with Dan. They both were always on time and the job site was cleaned up each evening. The project started and was completed as promised. The workmanship was excellent and both Scott and Dan worked very hard to make sure that I was pleased with what was done each day. I would use them again on a bathroom or kitchen remodel. They made the project as stress free as possible and I am thrilled with my new bathroom. I could always get a hold of Scott if I had any questions
We hired Trace and his crew to not only remodel our kitchen, but basically to transform the entire first floor of our home. This project included removing a weight bearing wall dividing our kitchen and front room and consolidating it to one open space, remodeling a fireplace, and updating a half bath and laundry room. Trace was great to work with from initial discussions and design ideas, through working with engineers to ensure structural integrity, and bringing in other electrical and HVAC professionals to assist with this project. His crew is great to work with and have superior skills shown by the custom made lockers for the laundry room and mantel and shelves on our new fireplace. Their attention to detail and quality are second to none. Once the project began as planned, the crew was on the job every day until completed. You hear stories of contractors starting a job then leaving for weeks at a time wondering if they will ever come back, leaving your home in disarray, but this is NEVER the case with Trace and his crew. This was a major project that took just about 6 weeks of actual construction time, and I couldn't be happier with their performance and our new kitchen/living space. I highly recommend TAB for any service they offer as their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction far exceeds any expectations
The team showed up every day on time and ready to work! Exceptional attention to detail. Boyd Construction is easy to work with and will do whatever it takes to make you satisfied.
Anthony Lewis Renovations remodeled our basement bathroom and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. They transformed a dark, dingy, unusable bathroom into a beautiful, modern 3/4 bath with a walk-in shower. Orlando and his team were very polite, professional, and respectful of our home. They kept us involved throughout the process and made adjustments when needed. We recommend them to anyone looking for quality work in a timely manner-- we will be calling them back
Excellent in every way. We had an unusual problem with the way the previous owner had installed counter and sink adjacent to a double window and Mike almost declined to take this job because of the potential problems stemming from this. He figured out a design that almost doubled the amount of counter space and it really looks great. Mike and his carpenter Nick were a pleasure to work with. Mike recommended a designer from Carter Lumber, Denni, who was also very helpful and great to work wit
Dan DeLauro did a great job on the bathroom remodel of an original bathroom from 1947. On time, professional and easy to work with. I will definitely use this company again.
Alex and his partner arrived on time, and far exceeded my wildest expectations. I have a house I am about to move into, and the house is empty. I had all the walls prepped and sanded, nail holes filled and sanded and primed, and everything masked off when they arrived. All the ceilings were already painted, except the family room, before they arrived. Alex went to work and applied two coats of paint to the walls in my living room, dining room, foyer, and center hallway. He then knocked out the family room ceiling, and had enough time to get the walls in both bathrooms done before the day was over. I cannot believe all the work they accomplished, or how nice the job turned out. To be fair, not every homeowner has the luxury of providing an empty and wide open house, which I suspect saved a lot of prep time for Alex, but they finished all the paint work I needed to get done before I move everything into the house in four days. Alex, you did an amazing job!
Shawn and his helper were on time. A water leak was discovered under the floor and they were able to repair it with minimal added cost. The whole project went very well and we are pleased with the results. In total the project took one week with them doing some door painting and prep work at their workshop. The price was resonable and in line with other estimates. We would recommend them for any interior wor
We contacted Bakai Construction about an estimate. Barney arrived within days and provided estimate. He was, and is, extremely pleasant and punctual. After the tile arrived, Barney began the process by preparing the walls and installing the tile. He came back soon thereafter to apply the grout and finish the job. Meanwhile, we also asked him to install dry wall on the ceiling around a new range hood and prepare the walls for painting. He did all of these jobs within hours - beautifully! We would heartily recommend him, and plan to call on him again for a bathroom renovation
Joe and his team were professional and responsive. He came back several times after the work was completed to address small concerns. Joe kept me informed during the day about how the job was going.
Finding good, trustworthy and reliable contractors nowadays is so difficult..I searched high and low, almost like an interview process. When one contractor would seem like a good fit, they would disappear. Another contractor would come along and half the time I wouldn’t get my quote or drawings. I even had a contractor tell me a price without bothering to tell me where my money was going. This was not my experience with Beautiful Basements. I enjoyed the process from start to finish.. Dan, the owner, personally came to my home to collaborate with me and explain ways that would improve the quality of my space while helping me understand why certain ideas may or may not be in my budget. He even told me ways in which I could save money. What a rarity!! By understanding all the facets of my remodel, I was able to effortlessly follow his price structure and why certain things needed to be done.. I’ve never had a company break down a quote the way Dan did; it was impressive. The crew that came into my home worked tirelessly to stick to the timeframe they promised, and they were so respectful and trustworthy. They were also knowledgeable when I had questions and took the time to answer them for me. I enjoyed working with this company so much I hired them to remodel my bathroom. This process went just as smooth and effortless as my first project with them, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the final product. Do yourself a favor and call this company- you will save yourself a lot of time and effort, and you can leave the remodel to the professionals
After working with Goran on our full kitchen remodel and our deck, we of course chose to work with Goran for our bathroom remodel. By this point we are pretty used to working with Goran and as always, he was reliable, responsive and knowledgeable. One of the best things about him, though, is that he has experience with older houses. He totally prepared us that once he started to open walls, we might find unexpected challenges. But the great thing is that he knows how to fix all of them! Turned out the toilet was leaking, but he was able to replumb it quickly. As always, was great to work with Goran at JDR - you won't find better people to work with

Jim did a great job on my bathroom renovation. He replaced the bath, tiling and put in a new floor, vanity, cabinet, light and painted. The cost for his services were much better than any other estimate I got. I was so pleased with the end result! I would definitely recommend him.
