Cincinnati Outdoor Lighting Repair

I should have known that this service wasn't going to go well when the owner told me a dumb blonde joke over the phone. Hilarious. Needed a broken line repaired between lights in outdoor landscaping. Was told that someone would be out to assess the issue, and we could either repair it that day, if their time allowed, or ask them to come back another day while we decided. Repair man came, spent about 30 - 45 minutes assessing the problem, which, we already knew what it was, then spent another hour writing up our bill. We were charged $350 for a serviceman to tell us about a problem we already knew we had, and then his time (an HOUR!) to write the bill. We were furious, called the owner, and he took $70 off because we were charged twice for his travel. This is still $280 for almost zero work being performed. On top of that, the serviceman "re-buried" the outdoor lines by covering them with a rock, not digging them back in to the dirt. Oh, and left his cigarette butt laying in the yard next to the rock (maybe so he could find his place again later?) After the call between the owner and my husband, never heard from the owner again about coming back to fix the actual problem. What a waste of money. I've read other reviews of being overcharged (not on Angie's List) and wish I had listened to them.

We recently used Milmark Outdoor Lighting on the front of our house and couldn't be happier! The added light to our house is amazing and is just what we were wanting. The installer did a great job and got the job done quickly. Mark was wonderful with placement and even stopped by in the evening to see how it looked and came the next day to make a small adjustment. The only problem now is... I want to add more around the rest of the house! I will definitely be using their company when I do.

Working with Milmark was amazing! We had another company come out prior to Milmark and what they proposed seemed off to my husband and they didn't return his email asking for references. So I researched on Angie's List and found Milmark Outdoor Lighting and I'm so glad we did. We contacted them late at night and he answered the phone and we scheduled for him to come out and give us a demo. The demo was incredible. We could actually see what he proposed and he explained to us what he did. His pricing is per light so if we wanted to drop a light we could save money. Seeing all the lights on our actual house sealed the deal for us. We absolutely love the finished product and working with Milmark was a great experience. Mark is so friendly and even called the day after installation to make sure we were satisfied with how it turned out. It's so refreshing working with someone who is professional and actually returns calls and emails in a timely matter!

Excellent! Joe was very responsive and professional. The new outdoor lighting really showcases our home and brightens it up without being too bright, as many LED landscape lighting bulbs do. I love how he added a photocell so I no longer have to deal with setting a timer. He was also able to use my current transformer and moved it outdoors from the garage. The new lighting will reduce our electric bill and be much safer than the old halogen lighting.

I had Outdoor Lighting Perspectives install our system years ago but it has been the service after that I am writing this review about. A couple years ago I had a bulb burn out and paid to have a replacement sent to me to install myself. Instead they happened to be in the area and just replaced it for me. More recently I was having an issue where my lights in the back weren't coming on. Rather than make me pay for a service call, they sat on the phone with me for 10 minutes to troubleshoot different things. Problem fixed and nothing charged. Highly recommend.

The consultation was done in a timely manner and was as advertised. The lighting demonstration helped us see that outdoor lighting was not for us. So the consultation was well worth the time and expense involved to resolve this issue in our minds.

Dave does each repair as if it were his own. We had a switch in the kitchen which made a family room light come on. Dan had to trace all the wiring until he found the source, which was on yet a totally different switch; there was a lot of labor and hours to locate the source of the problem. It turned out our old timer was shorting out the circuits. When replacing switch for outdoor lights he had to cut into the wall for a new switch. He did an excellent job as he had to cut through wallpaper and we wanted an end table to cover the switch. The finished product was perfect. I highly recommend Dave for any electrical needs, small or large. His service is excellent and he works with the customer on all options available for the project.

Mark is a true professional. From my first phone call to him that was promptly returned within 30-60 minutes to an initial consultation setup for two days later it was a pleasure to work with his company. I had long wanted to execute a landscape lighting project but had previously run into roadblocks from too expensive to poor follow thru to lack of design experience etc. Mark came out as planned (actually called me to tell me he was going to be 5-10 minutes late - can't think of the last time a contractor ever did that) and he listened to what I wanted and then suggested several options to accomplish my goals and objectives. Mark wasn't pushy and in fact talked me out of some deck lighting that I wasn't sure I needed and ended up not doing. I had many questions for Mark after we met and he answered everyone of them in detail in a straightforward manner. Once we agreed on a plan then Mark sent me a detailed proposal within 4 hours. After I accepted we set an install date and Mark called me to make sure the date was still going to work before coming out to do the project. The install was excellent. Meticulous detail on installing 17 fixtures plus a transformer in our yard (we had just updated all of our landscaping) and you couldn't even tell they were there after the job was completed other than we have beautiful lighting throughout our yard now. If you want landscape lighting put in at your house or office and you want it done right the first time with no surprises at a fair price then you would be foolish not to call Mark at Milmark Outdoor Lighting. Lighthouse Landscape Lighting installed professional, high quality metal low voltage lighting in our yard to replace plastic Malibu lighting purchased from Home Depot. We always had some kind of issue with our do-it-yourself outdoor lighting including water leakage and bulb replacement. Our new timer is set to turn lights on and off based on a GPS system. The lights know when it is sunset and turn on at the right time regardless of the time of year. Just set it and forget it. Our new lights are in the right spots to showcase our property. The shape, size and wattage was tailored for the each location. No hot spots! Great, knowledgeable and experienced people.

ElectricMasters had a large job to complete in our home. Three men arrived on time and completed the job within the day. They were professional, knowledgeable, and completed the job within the day. Everything looks great and works well. Will definitely use again for future electrical needs.

Mark Hoffman is great to work with and his follow-up is excellent. His installer, Herbert was a pleasure as well. One of the things Mark did, was to actually put lighting in and provide us with a demo, which we found to be very helpful. I will use Milmark and Mark again.

They came before the time scheduled which I appreciated. They worked diligently to replace the switch in the garage. It was old and practically soldered on. A new switch housing and switch was replaced. They patiently worked until the job was done.

Contacted Milmark after finding them on Angie's List. Mark, the owner, was quick to get out to my house and provide me a quote. After acceptance, his installer, Herbert, who was incredibly courteous and professional was out within the week and have everything updated to new LED lighting. My house never looked so good at night. I would recommend them to anyone.

Mark came to our home and conducted an initial design consultation and demonstration. We liked his design and creative ideas and decided to award the work to him. He came in exactly on budget and completed all work within a week of signing the contract. He also found a creative way to route the wires which saved me in excess of $200. We have had poor experiences with other outdoor lighting companies in the past; but Mark was extremely honest, professional and delivered on all of him commitments. He has my unconditional endorsement.
