Recent Review: It went great. Cody was responsive, reliable, punctual, and capable - absolutely no negatives. We had taken out the old sliding door and frame, cleaned up the old caulking, and purchased a new door. He was right on time, got right to work, and the whole door unit was in in 2-1/2 hours with no problems. I'd give him and the whole experience an A-plus if I could. He is extremely organized as far as the scheduling and responding and the work itself. We will definitely call on him in the future.

Recent Review: Joe was easy to work with, punctual, his crew was punctual, cleaned up after themselves, and very polite. Joe kept me informed of tasks which he couldn't get done because we both couldn't find the correct part locally. He told me how to order the parts and have them installed later. I was under a tight deadline and he was able to move some jobs around to accomodate me. I purchased the shower door, faucets, tile and grout for the job. The shower door was the wrong size so he purchased the correct size and installed it. He didn't complain at all. We negotiated a couple items which I added and I subtracted.

Recent Review: Job went very well.. Fan was cleaned and reinstalled avoiding having to buy a new one. Shower door was attached where it had come off the track. Very nice young man. Will hire again.

Recent Review: It went well and they were very professional. They had to come back to address the shower door though due to a small misunderstanding. The cost is my only complaint. The initial hour/charge of $138 and the subsequent hourly bill rate of $88 is very hard to justify/swallow.

They got to work and completed the job in an appropriate amount of time. I am very pleased with the results.

Recent Review: Rob is a super tiler and we are thrilled with the tile work in our kitchen and two bathrooms. He coordinated and completed removal of our old and installation of our new appliances in the kitchen and replaced bathroom fixtures. We wanted to keep our cabinets so he had some of them refinished. He did a great job rebuilding our shower and installing beautiful glass shower doors. We have been so happy that we have recommended him to many friends as well as our daughter.

Recent Review: Zimax is a fantastic company to help you with your homeowners needs. We had an unfinished basement which we were looking to complete to add value to our home. Zimax finished framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, bathroom, and drywall to all of our expectations. They were polite, courteous, and even patient with us when we needed to make an audible to our plans. They went out of their way to minimize and contain dirt created by the project.

Recent Review: The guys did not remove their shoes or use covers. In fact, they were kinda good old boys...r o u g h! They wanted to cut into the existing shower wall tile to install shelves. I explained to them the use of silicon. They were apprehensive but tried it. Of course, it worked. Despite voicing their opinions of the tile store clerk-who was excellent-that they thought knew nothing. Oh and guys, the notch in the front of the shelf..it's for water to drain from..if, that is, the shelf is slightly tilted.....nope they missed that! They also repaired the magnetic strip that holds the shower door closed with gorilla glue that I went out and bought while they were here. They used WAY too much and made a mess. Because they did not read the package instructions.

Recent Review: Rodney had the challenge of doing a big renovation in the only bathroom in my house, working as quickly as possible so as to cause as little disruption as possible. He had a couple of surprises, having to do more wall repair than anticipated and having a change in tile design from me after he had already started to install the wall tile. Rodney and his young assistant, Scotty, worked to transform my ugly bathroom into a beautiful space. Rodney takes pride in his work and I appreciate that.

Recent Review: From start to finish, this was one of the best experiences we have ever had with a contractor! He is extremely knowledgeable in virtually every aspect of home repair. He replaced the drip edge with hardi board which will preclude any future problems with this issue. The vinyl floor was laid on the diagonal, requiring numerous difficult cuts which were all made expertly. Our friends have commented on the floor's appearance and cannot tell that the floor is not slate! He explained to us why the bathroom floor tiles (honeycomb) had come loose and expertly matched the grout color - it looks fantastic! He took the portion of the staircase apart, quickly identified the problem, and fixed the problem CORRECTLY. Mr Pangallo obviously takes great pride in his work and is a great communicator, explaining how each repair should be made and why it was important. He is a keen problem-solver, and explained in detail every aspect of his work. He was PUNCTUAL (when was the last time you worked with a punctual contractor?) and extremely pleasant. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone needed home repair or improvement. Although we could have gone with a slightly lower bid, I consider the fee for his work to be an OUTSTANDING VALUE and wouldn't think of calling anyone else for home repair services.

Recent Review: Mark was a lifesaver! He was quick to respond to my phone calls, and understood my desire to get the shelving removed asap because that needed to be done before I could paint the rooms and have my floors refinished. He priced the job and even though he was very busy with a large project in Norwood, he worked me into his very busy schedule and would come over after a full day's work in Norwood. We thought the shelves were just screwed into the walls, but it turned out they were also glued, which caused a lot more damage to the walls than we had imagined. Mark never missed a beat; he tore out all the shelving, hauled it away, and proceeded to repair the walls. Obviously the job was going to take more time than we originally thought, but that was not his fault. He returned to put another coat on the wall patching, and then removed the shower doors and carpeting. He returned again to sand the walls. He was very meticulous about getting the walls as perfect as he could. He does things the way he would do at his own home. It was a pleasure having Mark work in my new house. He is friendly, easy-going, and never blinked when I would throw another little job at him. Although I was there for all of his visits, I would have no qualms about having him work in my house when I wasn't home. ( I also needed some plumbing done in my kitchen and he brought in a plumber who does a lot of work for him; the work was great and reasonably priced also). I have seen a lot of contractors work, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone work this hard or fast. He's personable, honest, and a very interesting guy to talk to. He really went out of his way to help me out in a jam, and I will call on him again for my handyman needs. I am also going to have him take care of my lawn mowing; that's his main focus in spring, summer and fall, although he said he does some handyman work during slow mowing times. I highly recommend Mark's Services!

Recent Review: We found this company through Angies List. We were very impressed with the level of care we received from start to finish. The estimate was more than we were willing to spend, and Steve worked with us so that we could make some changes that would be more affordable. Before we even contracted with them, Steve came out to do pictures and estimates, then we went to the showroom, where he went through everything with us, and gave us a nice glossy book with our measurements and estimates. This was the only company that did this part of the work for free, before we were even a customer. Others wanted to charge 200.00 for a redesign, measurements and estimates, even if we chose to have the work done by someone else. Lowes charged us 75.00 just to come out, and they did measurements, but wouldn't let us have them. It was very easy to visualize everything with Steve, as he gave us a brochure, and the showroom was excellent. Other contractors also did not have a showroom, and we were sent to different stores to pick things out, this was one of the biggest reasons we chose them. The major work was completed in 3 weeks, with a small wait for custom shower doors. Everyday our place was left spotless, even though this was major renovation. There were a couple things I was particularly picky about, and the installers changed it right away, always with a smile. I wasn't happy with the caulk color, they redid every bit of it when I asked. We wanted to grout under a vanity which was already installed, they immediately started over and fixed it. I didn't like lighting placement after I saw it, they fixed it to make it what I wanted. There have been times I have worked with contracters who I was intimidated by, these guys were like talking with your brothers. In fact, this is a family company, and very importantly, can be trusted. We gave them a key to our house and were able to go to work everyday knowing our house was safe. The bathroom turned out more beautifully than we could have imagined, and we definitely got the resale value back immediately, according to all the neighbors. The same crew came each day, which was very important to us also.

Recent Review: Overall, it went great. When Darren came to do the estimates, he examined everything needing attention and explained what he would do to fix or install things. When he looked at the master bathroom, he immediately visualized how the remodeled room would look. We had quite a few projects we wanted done, but knew we couldn't afford all of them. Darren prepared separate bids for each project. Each bid was very detailed, outlining each task that was to be performed. For materials we were to supply, he used an allowance to help us judge what the finished project would cost. After we accepted his bids, he came to the house 2 or 3 times to review the figures and materials to be used. One pleasant surprise was that Darren was more involved in the interior design aspect than I expected. He brought tile and grout samples to us, and helped us match them with paint. When we needed carpet, he brought that too. He told us where to go to choose faucets, marble for the shower and countertop, etc. Darren picked up the big-ticket items for us. We bought the decorative light fixture, towel bars and knobs ourselves. Darren advised us on what should be done in the bathroom to make sure it had good resale value later. He encouraged us to buy a more upscale shower door than we intended because of how well it would show, although he had no monetary reason for doing so. Since he does so many bathroom remodels, we trusted his judgement. If you're planning to work with Darren, make sure to ask questions up front about things that could go wrong with each project and what he would do about it. Some carpet was damaged when our laminate was installed, and discussing its repair at that point was awkward, since responsibility for accidents was not covered in the contract. Darren and his employees are quite personable and are considerate of the homeowner's space. They are punctual, and as neat as they can be when doing remodeling. They cleaned up everything before they left. We were quite pleased with the finished work, and I will definitely work with him again.
