Recent Review: I decided to get the work done in two phases. Phase I began August 13 and included installing hurricane-impact windows and doors and was completed on schedule in 5 days. Phase II began October 7, was the major portion of the remodel, and was completed ahead of schedule in 6 weeks. I couldn't ask for a better contractor and am extremely pleased with the professionalism and quality of work. I pretty much had all my details worked out in advance, so all the ordering of cabinetry, countertop material, etc. went quite smoothly. There was hardly a day when some kind of work wasn't in progress. I would highly recommend Total Home Contractors for all your remodel needs. Note: I purchased the kitchen appliances, faucet, and ceiling fans myself and the contractor installed them as part of the project.

Recent Review: Scott contacted me the same day that I bought the deal and showed up exactly on time the next day to do the work. He prides himself on always being on time. He got to work right away and finished the job in less than an hour. Scott is extremely courteous, punctual and professional. He is very neat and tidy while working and cleans up after himself. He was very careful not to damage anything while working in somewhat close quarters in our laundry room. He is a very clean and well kept person and would not cause anyone to be afraid to have him in their home. He did not try to up-sell any services or products, however when I asked him if he knew of anyone that did handyman services he told me that he was just beginning to add that service to his business. So I scheduled him to do some work for me. He patched, sanded and painted some holes in my drywall requiring multiple trips to my house. As I said before, Scott prides himself on being punctual and on one visit to work on the drywall he was held up by a traffic accident and he called me right away to let me know he would be late. He also installed an access panel to an outdoor faucet in a wall, assembled a cabinet kit and replaced a doorbell button. Scott took it upon himself to purchase all needed parts and also found some paint that matched my existing wall. His prices are extremely reasonable in my opinion. Having had such good luck in finding Scott, I asked him if he could clean some ledges and ceiling fans that I am no longer able to reach. He and his partner came out within a couple of days and performed that work, rotated a large mattress and also cleaned several windows too. Scott's partner has her own cleaning service which worked out really great. I have been extremely happy with all of the work that Scott has performed for me and intend to call upon him for many more jobs in the future. You can't go wrong with Scott.

Recent Review: Overall, it went great. When Darren came to do the estimates, he examined everything needing attention and explained what he would do to fix or install things. When he looked at the master bathroom, he immediately visualized how the remodeled room would look. We had quite a few projects we wanted done, but knew we couldn't afford all of them. Darren prepared separate bids for each project. Each bid was very detailed, outlining each task that was to be performed. For materials we were to supply, he used an allowance to help us judge what the finished project would cost. After we accepted his bids, he came to the house 2 or 3 times to review the figures and materials to be used. One pleasant surprise was that Darren was more involved in the interior design aspect than I expected. He brought tile and grout samples to us, and helped us match them with paint. When we needed carpet, he brought that too. He told us where to go to choose faucets, marble for the shower and countertop, etc. Darren picked up the big-ticket items for us. We bought the decorative light fixture, towel bars and knobs ourselves. Darren advised us on what should be done in the bathroom to make sure it had good resale value later. He encouraged us to buy a more upscale shower door than we intended because of how well it would show, although he had no monetary reason for doing so. Since he does so many bathroom remodels, we trusted his judgement. If you're planning to work with Darren, make sure to ask questions up front about things that could go wrong with each project and what he would do about it. Some carpet was damaged when our laminate was installed, and discussing its repair at that point was awkward, since responsibility for accidents was not covered in the contract. Darren and his employees are quite personable and are considerate of the homeowner's space. They are punctual, and as neat as they can be when doing remodeling. They cleaned up everything before they left. We were quite pleased with the finished work, and I will definitely work with him again.

Recent Review: the salesman and the installers were awesome! the installers did very clean work,very informative and knowledgable. we've used carver and sons numerous times in the last 23 years on our home improvements,they have always done great work and obviously continue to do so. GREAT JOB!

Recent Review: I had two problems that I needed taken care of: my sump pump would not shut off and was running continuously and my bathroom floor was getting weak in places due to a water leak somewhere. When I called Jim up and described the problems, he came out himself to take a look and make an estimate. After he explained his estimate and I agreed, he replaced the sump pump right away and repaired a plastic vent pipe leading to the pump. He finished the job in less than an hour after arriving. He was friendly and knowledgeable, explained in detail to me what he was going to do and answered my questions. The bathroom repair was a bigger job. Jim made an estimate of what it would take and discussed the options with me on what to do with the floor. We then agreed on a time and date for that work to begin. Kenny came out to do the bathroom repair work. He showed up on time. He was also friendly and courteous and explained exactly what he was going to do. He quickly located the water leak and only had to cut one hole in the wall directly behind the toilet. I had originally thought the damage was due to a broken wax seal on the toilet and had replaced that myself a few months earlier. It turns out that the leak was due to a nail that had punctured the pipe when the house was built 10 years earlier! The nail had punctured the pipe in between the metal shield plates on a double stud and had caused a very slow leak. In hindsight, there were various minor signs of a leak in years past, but I had not been able to locate the cause. Kenny quickly repaired the pipe, replacing the punctured section. He then repaired the drywall and replaced the chip-board in the floor with plywood. He also repaired my toilet shutoff valve and a couple of nail pops at no extra cost. Over the next day and a half he tiled and grouted the floor. I'm happy with the new floor and the work that he did and I was very relieved at how quickly he found the source of the problem.

Recent Review: This went very well. Contacted Bryan Thursday, he came out on Friday, had quote on Saturday and executed contract Sunday as we had to leave town. Work began that Tuesday and was completed the following Thursday which included the complete demo of the old bath and installing all new materials. Bryan was extremely professional and personalble. He was always on time and if he was going to be delayed he contacted us to explain what was happening (typically it was picking up materials for that days tasks). Bryan always kept us informed of progress and plans for what would happen next. He was impeccable in cleaning up at the end of the day and at the end of the job. The best.
