Distinctive Design Remodeling
From start to finish, the DDR team was terrific! They made everything so easy for me, and got the job done on time. They worked with me on a change I added mid-stream and made the entire process stress free. Special mention to my project manager, Ian, who was in constant contact. He walked this newbie to construction projects through every step with excellent customer service and patience

Barefoot Custom Decks & Remodeling
These guys are AWESOME!!! They built a deck by our pond for us last year & did such a terrific job! It's so well-built, you could drive a truck on it! When we needed to remodel our back deck on the house, we called them back to do it. I'd never go with anyone else for the job! Their work is just beautiful & so very well-done. You can tell they really take pride in their work

It was the best experience we have ever had building a home. From the time we walked into the model home in Wetherby Farms and met Michael, the experience was great. They met with us often to make sure everything was on schedule and to our liking. Any time there was an issue, it was taken care of in a timely manner. From picking out our selections to working with the M/I mortgage people, everything ran so smoothly. I would highly recommend them

The results are stunning. One of the most iconic houses in Cincinnati. Took longer than expected and cost more than expected, but in every other respect the company could not be faulted

Very bad. The work performed was not per our agreement. 1. Roof lines do not match to existing structure per our agreement. 2. Numerous "Shiners's"(explosed roofing nails in water channels). This will result in a leaking roof. 3. One 12'X24' wall close to 1" out of square. 4. They cut the wall 2X4's too short which caused gaps in floor 5. They damaged the existing roof when they "stuffed" the new shingles under the old ones. 6. The roofing merge to the existing roof is not done correctly 7. The LP siding was stapled on. According to the LP company, you must use nails or the warranty is nullified. 8. Since the roofing is not installed correctly the shingle warranty is nullified. 9. I have emailed, sent text's and left John Sheanshang voice messages with zero response. I have given him plenty of opportunity to make it right. He was not at the job site when the job was completed. I looked his son straight in the eye before payment and asked if the issues would be taken care of and he said yes. Not a good way to handle business. In addition I gave an extra $50 for the crew

Overall the service quality was bad. There were many quality violations, including backward flashing that had to be changed or was missing all together. Shingles were put on backward on the dormers. They over cut windows that they filled with putty to fix. The stucco was not installed property which caused rotting. There were also leaks. They did not like to be told what to do when something was wrong. They came out once to fix some issues, but in the end they did not return phone calls for work. The overall work was very poor

Sisson Design Builders
Our experience with Gregg and his team was phenomenal. Our remodel project completely changed the feel of our old home and even though the space wasn’t large, Gregg’s design maximized the space. Our new home is incredible. A custom home can take months longer than a cookie cutter home, but the detail and craftsmanship is second to none. I would highly recommend Sisson Design Builders to everyone I know

FISCHER GROUP-THE FISCHER HOME
After shocking myself by touching our front yard hose spigot, I had an electrician come out to discover the entire front of our house was electrified since day 1. He found the builders disconnected the ground of the outlet and wrapped the outlet in tape to prevent the circuit from tripping. He found a nail driven through the burned wire, causing 150 volts to run through our walls constantly. Luckily he fixed it, but Fischer won’t take any responsibility. They have been a nightmare since the process started. Thank god it was me that was shocked by electricity, not our 1 year old

Cullen Brothers LLC
My experience with Cullen Brothers (Bill Cullen in particular) has been nothing but stellar. The responsiveness to my questions were incredible. I ask a question about a particular portion of our design and within a day or two I have an entire new design and price quote. I am looking forward to spending the next 5 months in the build process

Cullen Brothers LLC
Will advise when completed. Very professional, helpful and easy to work with so far. In final planning stages. The quality I have seen in other homes he has built looks excellent.

It took Shed-I-Master over a year to finish our shed. We did not pass inspection because they took short cuts when building our shed. Nails were poking out of wood. They did not use outdoor paint for the shutters. They replaced them and gave us window boxes that were too heavy. The anchors were not properly installed. When the inspector touched the concrete with his shoe, it broke. The loft is not reinforced

HANDI-PORT GARAGES & CARPORTS
I placed an order for blueprints for a building in 08/30/2019. After getting the runaround for nearly 8 months I called another supplier. I was provided with blueprints in 5 days. I contacted Handiports/Wilson manufacturing and they deny giving me a refund saying the engineering charged them for the blueprints and they have had them since 3/27/2020. The communication at this company is a joke as I’ve called numerous times and have been very lenient and patient and I never get a return call. I’ve always had to call back. Steer as far away from this company as possible. I wish I had read reviews first, it looks like I walked right into a trap and am just lucky these clowns never made it to the building phase as I’m sure that would have been another nightmare

JOHN HENRY HOMES
If you want the worst home buying experience in your life, go to John Henry Homes, they have you covered. This builder is a comedy of non-communication, non-response, no measurable customer service, terrible build quality, poor follow through and time lines of months to years that apparently are par for the course after reading the reviews. Please note the actual reviews not the sudden handful of 5 star reviews that are in the middle of all of the 1 star reviews. Seem a little fishy? From their Google reviews to their BBB reviews and rating is all you need to know. I wish I had looked sooner. All you will get is defensive owners who deny any wrong doing on their part. It's unbelievable to think they don't know they sell as shoddy product. after speaking with many in the industry in the Cincinnati area the mention of who I built my home with is often met with eye rolls. The build was a complete and utter joke. Where should I start? Wrong appliances? Check Accent windows that were off center by at least a foot? Check Painted the house the wrong color? Check Installed the wrong mantle? Check Built the kitchen backwards? Check Installed the bathroom in our master closet? Check Master tray ceiling whose lines are wavy and don't even line up to the corners of the room? Check Contractors that are clueless? Check Missed delivery date by months? Check Still waiting for annual walk-through items to be corrected now going on eight months later? Check Still waiting on open items from house close to be corrected (20 months later)? Check When I addressed concerns to my site supervisor it was met with the response of "you have to decide what you're willing to live with." Really, I'm spending this kind of money and I have to live with your mistakes? And on and on and on and on.... I think you get the point. The quality of the build for the money we invested is poor. The materials are the cheapest that can be bought. The craftsmanship is horrible. The house isn't even square in multiple areas such as the baseboards, stairwell, back splash in kitchen, master tray ceiling and master bath doors. I have waited to write this review because I wanted to get the work done but I'm once again working with their Customer service rep and have had no response after multiple emails since February. I have no confidence in them getting this work done let alone in a quality manner so I filed a BBB complaint today to let the state handle it. Perhaps they'll actually respond now? If you decide to work with this company I would caution with buyer beware. The reviews tell me all I need to know and if I had the option to do it over again, I would run. Images included are for reference. You'll enjoy the extensive work that needs to be done for nail pops. Mind you these are listed as touch up items. This is just the stairway, this is all over the entire house. You will absolutely have to budget to repaint the interior again. The rest are a very small sampling of the quality, fit and finish of a half a million dollar home. Feel free to contact if you have any questions or would like more detail. I've saved it all from emails to texts. If I didn't know any better I would've thought I've been on camera. They care about nothing but your money. *EDITED REVIEW AND UPDATE* We are now almost two years past the walk-through to fix the issues from the build and nothing is finished. NOTHING. We've been in the house now for almost 3 years and it's still not finished. JHH are thieves and scammers. They take your money and then never finish the work. They give you a hundred excuses and have the gall to claim they misunderstood or that they tried to get it done. They all blame each other. The drywall is a mess with hundreds of nails pops. They sent out people to fix and the areas repaired are once again showing. The drywall seams are showing everywhere. Apparently they fired the guy that did the drywall which means they know how work was poor but do you think they would correct the house? *SECOND EDIT* We are now five months past the last edit and the work is still not completed. Dealing with the BBB to see if they can assist. Do a Google search with reviews and you'll find my story is no different than the others
The owner Jeff Hinson made sure we were satisfied with everything throughout the entire process. The workers don't let long days bother them; they continue until the work for the day is complete. They are very respectful men! I am in love with my new 2 tier deck! I didn't think I could have a deck this nice!! P.S. We are planning on hiring them back when our pool comes in and continue building the deck to the pool
I would not consider doing business with anyone else but Deck Masters at this point. They are very professional, and their work is excellent. They do a wide variety of things, and we've had them do pavers, walls, decks, and even a barn. The pricing is very competitive, and the owner, John, was personally involved almost the entire way. If there was any kind of issue or question, it was handled promptly and satisfactorily
Ben, Alex and the team from Assured Construction were outstanding to work with. They are highly skilled craftsmen that pay meticulous attention to detail and they were never flustered by changes we made or issues that cropped up, which were few. But even more than that, they are men of high character and principles. They have innovative ideas to complex problems and execute flawlessly. I completely trust them to have our best interests at heart. The kitchen is fabulous and the laundry room, which they moved and built in another location looks like it has always been there. They will always be my first call on any home improvement project
Andrew was wonderful. From our first phone call, he was able to answer all questions. He was very fair with his price, always available by phone or text (very different from other contractors we have worked with), and stuck to a timeline. He turned a closet into a new bathroom (plumbing, flooring, moved a wall, all electric, etc- did it all) for us, as well as installed a tile backsplash in our kitchen. We will certainly reach out with more renovations should the need arise
We were very pleased with the work that Parsons did for us. Bill Parsons came and told us about their services. He explained the product they would be using for the insulation. Both Bill and the installers were courteous and friendly. The installation went smoothly. I would recommend Parsons to my friends for work they need done. I would also seriously consider them for future projects
Darwin did a fantastic job painting our cabinets. His attention to details are amazing! He taped everything off including all the walls, appliances and put up a temporary wall so none of the paint left the kitchen when spraying the cabinets. Our cabinets looked brand new still but the light oak was dated. Instead of buying new, we decided to paint them. Best decision we’ve ever made. He painted them a beautiful gray and the finish is flawless. Also, another important thing to mention is that we trusted him completely to leave him in our house when we weren’t home. He’s just one of those people you can trust. Thanks Darwin for a job impeccably done. Give him a call, you won’t regret it
We've had a service contract with Schibi for years. They make sure we get scheduled and use the service we paid for. If it were up to me, I'd never remember to get it done. Their people are professional, polite and I've never had an issue with an employee. Mike S was our technician today and he did a great job representing Schibi. He was professional and explained everything he did. He offered a new product and explained how it worked, how much it cost without pressuring us. Hope Mike S comes back for our next scheduled service
Very happy with the deck renovation by Vineyard construction! Job was to re-deck a 30 year old foundation showing its age. Troy was very responsive during the estimation and bidding phase, responding to various requests for options and modifications. Demo was efficient and clean – all materials removed and area swept for debris. Replaced some joists and hangers after inspection. Installed wood decking with hidden fasteners, custom railing, benches and flower boxes with excellent attention to detail and workmanship. High marks to the construction crew – polite, professional, on time and not rushed. Good follow-up. Highly recommended – they are the real deal
I searched Angie's List for a builder who would build me a shed on a concrete slab. All the highly rated shed builders here said they would only build a shed on a wood floor and could not do concrete work. One indicated I could contract out the slab portion then they would do the construction for me. But I wanted one contractor responsible for the entire project. I started giving up hope when my daughter suggested contacting All Decked Out. She knew the owner from her schools days. So I gave them a call and asked if they could build a shed on a concrete slab. The answer was yes and in a few days they came out to give me an estimate. The estimate was in ballpark and I signed the contract. They told me that they expected to start the first week in November. They started right on time but the expected time to completion went out a bit due to the weather. It became much colder than normal and then we had a snowfall which all delayed completion. I cannot fault them because of the weather. The new shed is almost exactly the same size as the old shed. The old shed had been poorly constructed by the previous homeowner and was rotting in many places because if was not built properly and let in a lot of water. They did have a custom made garage door in great shape on the old shed and a nice window. All Decked Out carefully removed the old garage door and window and installed them on the new shed. The old shed was built with studs and roof trusses on 24" center and All Decked Out always builds the walls and roofs with proper 16" centered studs and roof trusses. They also put in conduit through the concrete slab so I can run electric to the new shed. Electric work I can do. They also got shingles to match our house. Strand board sheathing was used under the exterior sheathing to make it a very strong exterior. Then Hardie board was used to protect the exterior of the structure to make it look great while protecting it from the elements. Cedar board was used to cover the exterior board seams as well as around the roof to create eaves. The also installed gutters. One gentleman did most of the work, however he had a helper 50% of the time. They were very pleasant and answered my questions or made modifications along the way. The only thing remaining is for me to paint the shed in the Spring when the weather is suitable for painting. I highly recommend All Decked Out for any of your outdoor construction projects
Jared made sure that all of the details of the deck were perfect. I could tell he had done this many times before. They installed the beam and it was perfectly level. He had me look at the level and asked me if I was happy with the posts and beam and explained to me what he was going to do next. I was very pleased about that because he really does care what his customers think about his work and his work quality. I give Jared an EXCELLENT rating. He did the job like he said it would be done and it was done on time. So if you want a nice deck, I would strongly refer him to anyone. My deck is perfect! Thanks Jared
Estridge was great to work with from the initial contact and quoting process thru to work being completed. The owner Chris is personable and knows how to design something that is complimentary to the existing house. Both carpenters that performed the work were great onsite and worked hard to get the job done in a timely manner. We solicited several bids and although on the cheapest, we felt their design and attention to the specifics of the project were more in line than others. All around great experience
Let me start by saying that the construction project Chris Gorman just completed for my family was particularly complex. We bought a 4.5 acre lot that was neglected for decades, required demolition of an old house with detached garage, needed a few acres of dense overgrowth cleared, had significant water drainage issues, and had no immediate access to sewer or natural gas. Needless to say, a huge amount of land development work had to be done before ground could be broken on our home. On top of all that, I am a detailed person with a strong sense of what I like and what I don?t. If that helps paint a picture that this wasn?t a simple project, you would be spot on. That said, I don?t know of another builder in the Greater Cincinnati area that I would trust more than Chris Gorman. We absolutely love our new home. It's beautiful. It?s unique. It's functional and fits the way our family lives. It?s marketable. It's a custom home without the custom builder attitude or inflated price tag, and it's perfect for our family. Not only did I see the quality and the concern for doing things right, I talked with quite a few subcontractors who worked on the project and the theme was overwhelmingly positive toward Chris. I also heard nightmare stories about other well known builders in the area, which further reinforced that we had made a good decision by entrusting our new home to Chris. We liked the fact that he was very hands-on throughout the build process. He made sure the subs did what they were supposed to do, and he selected subs who took pride in their work and who were good at their craft. With a project this complicated not everything was easy. However, when unexpected issues arose, Chris was good at identifying solutions; some even turned out better than the original plan. He was also flexible and creative as we moved through the project. Here are a few tips, for what it?s worth, from our build experience: 1) Don?t rush the design process upfront. Take as much time as you need to get it the way you like it, considering your budget. Once the house is under construction, it's much harder and more costly to make significant changes. 2) Give your builder as much detail as possible (written, ideally by email). This helps keep everyone on the same page, provides a time-stamped paper trail so there is accountability for both parties, and it gives you something to refer to as the project moves forward. So many decisions happen so fast that it?s impossible to remember everything important to the project if you don't write it down. 3) Whatever construction time frame you are given ? double it. Then be pleasantly surprised if it comes in early. You can't count on the weather cooperating, and timelines with most builders are aggressive. Besides, there are lots of moving parts that must line up to complete a project of this magnitude. Our home came with a 1-year warranty and in a few months we will be doing a check-up with Chris for any fixes that may need to be handled. I will post an update after that time

What do customers in Cincinnati say about Build Carport?
They were great to work with. We were opening a new office so they built the building for it. They helped every step of the way. They had everything in the game for building a good looking office because it was the first one in this side of the building. They did a good job. The price was fine. I had been negotiating for a hell of a deal. We were the first one in the building. The shops wanted to build the building but they couldnt do that until we said okay for it. So we kind of had the cards in our hand.
