Chicago Wallpaper Installation

Ugh, the worst experience ever. Poor workmanship and poor ethics. He was difficult to deal with and also did a terrible job with a very expensive wallpaper. First, he didn't check the installation guidelines that I sent in advanced and didn't installed the lining nor colored the sides of the paper ( I had a dark paper). Secondly, he did a poor job hanging the paper, the paper is not hung flushed and there is a white gap in between each paper. Finally, and the worst part. The paper was very delicate and the instructions specified to not getting it wet. Because he didn't check the installation guidelines he washed the paper, damaging it in several places. I am not kidding, there are parts where the paper is ripped, parts where the color faded and parts where he left pieces of paper hanging!!!! Unbelievable!!!! He recognized that the job was poor but regardless of that ran away with my check and cashed it right away (before I had the chance to cancel it). Then he offered me to refund me the money if I took the review down, he never did. Stay away...

After having worked with Glen to get some wallpaper hung, I'd say he is "measure twice, cut once" to the core. What do I mean? From our initial contact, he thoroughly reviewed the specs of the wallpaper I'd purchased and asked a few questions (that I turned around and asked of the manufacturer) to ensure he had all the preparation, materials, and understanding of the paper that he needed to do a great job. After he understood all of that, I got a price quote, and it was on par with another quote I'd received. I appreciated the effort Glen put into researching what he would be hanging so that ultimately, he'd have the right tools for the job, and a happy customer. When Glen arrived, he was right on time and did an amazing job in much less time than I'd expected. I definitely recommend Glen and might be motivated to buy more wallpaper myself knowing I have a pro to turn to to make it look great!

The project moved along at a good pace. It took about 2 weeks (10 working days). We moved all of the small items including wall hangings and John and is son moved the heavy items as needed. They were neat and tidy and cleaned up after themselves daily. John is returning to finish the kitchen now that the new counter tops have been installed and we will have them back in the future to paint the inside of our garage also.

MNM did an excellent job hanging wallpaper in our nursery. The wallpaper looks terrific and there were some difficult parts to the job. MNM was easy to deal with at a reasonable price and handled everything very well. I would hire them again.

We wallpapered one wall in our bedroom with an intricately patterned wallpaper. Ed was responsive, quick to get back to us, came in with the lowest estimate, offered input into how much paper we needed, and then showed up on time and did a wonderful job. Couldn't recommend him more.

Initially, my wallpaper looked great. However, after installation and two repairs by Lookswell, seams are again showing all over the room. There is nothing wrong with my roof. The room is not a bathroom. There is either a problem with the paste they used to hang my paper, or something else was not done properly.

VERY HIGHLY recommended! Wonderful to work with. Ed is spectacular and, true to his own description, a perfectionist. I chose some particularly tricky patterns and, having rather high standards as I'm also Type-A, would’ve been driven nuts by poorly hung wallpaper. Ed knocked it out of the park — not an easy task with me! Everything you want in a contractor (that is coming from someone who just moved into a new home and has been dealing with a lot of contractors lately!): responsive, punctual every single morning, not messy but cleans up his materials each day anyways, meticulous about details, and picky about doing the best job possible. Even to the extent that it took him extra time beyond the original estimate to complete the job (and this is with consistently putting in 8- or 9-hr days), but we were happy to make it work because you can tell he wants to get it done the RIGHT way. If you also want to have amazing wallpaper in your home, like I do now, you should be flexible, too — not just anyone can do this well, and wallpaper isn't something where you want to rush the work because it will look like crap. Want the right person doing it, taking the time they need to get it 100%? That person is Ed. On top of all that, prices were reasonable, he was happy to accommodate my requests to add primer and decorator's varnish to ensure long-lasting wallpaper in the areas around the showers (increased steam/mold opportunity than other areas), and is personally friendly and polite... how many contractors can you say that about?! Only wish I had more wallpaper work for him to do, but you can bet I’ll be referring friends and reach back out if I ever move again. Seriously, hire Ed ASAP — don’t bother calling anyone else!!!

They worked every day from 7:00 am until sometimes 6 pm, they always left our house clean and put away all their tools for the next days work. Everyone was very friendly and accomodating, which I was especially pleased with since I am a stay at home mom with a 18 month old child. The quality of his work was superb. We moved from the city in which we lived in new construction so we had very high taste and expectations. Our house was built in the 1950's so it definitely needed a lot of work. Karol and his crew made our house look like new. They pay close attention to detail and always follow through on the work until it is done and done right. Karol was also very responsive. Throughout the month long project I was in constant contact with Karol each day via text. This made everything much easier. i will definitely be recommending Karol to my family and friends. Great service, great quality and great prices!

They did a great job hanging the wallpaper. They were very prompt and efficient in getting the job done. Souls definite use their services again.

Edwin is wonderful. He is respectful and responsive and his prices are fair. He goes above and beyond with cleanliness leaving your home in better condition than he found it (taping and covering areas thoroughly). He has come back to help me with a variety of projects including painting my condo from floor to ceiling. Additionally, he oversaw plumbing and electrical projects to ensure these were done correctly and to his standards.

Simply perfect. Ed is a master at his craft. He is very friendly, professional, and takes care in his work. He was very responsive and scheduling was a breeze. The wallpaper was pretty detailed and Ed was thoughtful in his placement of the design. I felt he went above and beyond to help me throughout this process and I am truly grateful. I will certainly use his services again for future wallpaper projects. Thanks, Ed!

Ed did a great job installing wallpaper for my son’s room. He was very responsive from the first moment I contacted him: responding to estimate questions, scheduling, and helping figure out wallpaper measurements. Will definitely contact him again for future wallpaper installation.

A PROMPT ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN. THE WALLPAPER WE HAD PICKED OUT WAS BACKORDERED SO WE WERE REFERRED TO A VERY HELPFUL ALTERNATE SUPPLIER AND FOUND A READILY AVAILABLE EXCELLENT SUBSTITUTE. WORK COMMENCED PROMPTLY AT SCHEDULED DATE AND TIME. JOB WAS DONE WELL AND WE ARE PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT WAS APPLIED.

They brought out 2 books only that really fit my needs and were able to help me in that fashion which was great. They also recommended a wallpaper person to hang.

I contacted Drake paining very close to the dates I really needed the service. I only had this one week to have the work done, before sanding the floor, and then the move in. Drake painting did everything they could to fit this job into their schedule. And they managed to send the right people at the right time to get the job done. They contacted me the day before to confirm, and arrived very promptly at the days of service. They did a fantastic job removing the wall paper, preparing to paint. There was absolutely no prep work needed for us, but we could just start painting. The guys who hung our wall paper did an equally excellent job! We had our own "delicate" wall paper (and just enough - no extra rolls...) that was matched/aligned perfectly. Could not have been done better. I would use them at any time again.
