The quick summary is that our basement carpet has never looked as good as it does now. Over the years the carpet had become rippled and stained in a large great room, hallways, bedrooms, and stairs -- more than 1,000 square feet. Repair: Re-stretching carpet that had become rippled over the years. It took quite a bit of effort to re-stretch the carpet. Some parts in the hallway had to be cut and reseamed. The sections on the stairs had to be retacked. They did not take any shortcuts. Cleaning: With a teenage boy at home the carpet had taken some abuse. There was more than one strain that I would have bet money that those stains could NOT be removed. All the stains were removed and the carpet was cleaned perfectly without being overly wet. The house was a couple of years old when we bought it. They basement carpet had been cleaned a few times including touch-up cleaning with a portable carpet cleaner. However, I do not remember the carpet every looking as good as it does now! If I had known Scharm could do that to the carpet I would have called them much sooner.
