The Real Seal LLC

The real seal came out and did a complete look at the issue i had. They identified the location of the crack, gave me options to repair internal or external. They also ensured i understood the age and expected life span of the sump pump to ensure i would have no other water issues in the future. They quoted the crack repair as well as the price of a new sump but didn't pressure me at all. I went with the external crack repair. They worked with me to abide by my town permit process and helped me secure another contractor for concrete repair of my patio and answered all my questions in a timely manner. I would recommend The Real Seal.

We were having issues with foundation cracks and other companies did not want to do the work without us taking apart our stairway landing to get to the cracks. Steve came out (within a couple of days of my call), and was able to figure out how to get the repairs done without removing the stairs. Steve, Jimmy and Laro came back a few days later, injected what they could from inside and dug the rest from the outside without any sort of mess whatsoever. Other companies told me we would have to remove our 40' arborvites in order to dig and wanted triple the cost. Every one of them were incredibly helpful, skillful and professional. I would highly recommend them to everyone - and will! Thank you Steve, Jimmy and Laro for making my basement free from water.

I was unaware that the injection ports for the epoxy needed to stay in the wall forever. Not a big deal. The process they offered with the Angies List coupon did not include the carbon staples their brochure highlights. I thought that should have been made clear at the time the work was scheduled or performed, but it was not. I discussed this with them and we agreed to disagree. As the repair has a lifetime transferable guarantee, any problems caused by the lack of staples should be their responsibility. All in all I am pleased with the work performed and the price.

A-Proseal

I can't say enough good about this company. You will not be disappointed. In January they sealed a crack in our basement foundation and completely stopped our water leaking. Then recently, we needed to hire a plumber to replace the sewer pipe, which was located near the sealed crack. Unfortunately after the plumber did work, water was leaking around the pipe. We called A-Proseal to see what could be done and they came out the very same day and sealed the area around the pipe. I asked how much it would cost and they said no charge since it was under the warranty even though the leaking was caused by the plumber's work. Both times A-Proseal did a clean neat job. The owner Fernando is for the customer and is very easy to talk to. He's on top of things. His employees Francisco, Pedro, and Danny are great workers and do the job right. They are very dependable with a very reasonable price. Thank you A-Proseal for pulling through for us. We will definitely refer you to our family and friends.

They were quick to give an estimate, but once they had my deposit it took 7 weeks to have the repair done. The workers they sent were careless and sloppy. They left empty tubes in my laundry room and accidentally unplugged my dishwasher in my crawl space. I ended up buying a new dishwasher when the only thing wrong was that they had unplugged it. When I called Perma Seal to complain they said they were not responsible for the carelessness of their employees. I would never recommend them. I tried to make a 1 star review on their website and it just came up as an error. I think that is how they keep a 5 star review.

Atlas Restoration LLC

Working with Atlas was a very unpleasant experience. I contacted them in August 2014 for a major structural problem with my house. The work entailed repairing my foundation, tuckpointing, and concrete work. I made it clear that I wanted them to take responsibility for the entire job. They arranged that and got me contracts for their work plus contracts from two companies for the tuckpointing and the concrete. I was in a hurry to get the work done and it wasn't until they finally showed up in December that they told me the work wouldn't be completed until the spring. They did their portion of the work and left a mess of my yard with the shrubs left to die lying in the yard. When they actually lifted the house I was onsite and told to say when I wanted them to stop lifting. I couldn't believe they were asking me as I assumed that I hired them as experts. I was told that homeowners often decide how far to go because there is a trade off between leveling the foundation and creating cracks inside the house. I would strongly suggest that while the house is being lifted is not the first time you should discuss this with the homeowner - and relying on a complete amateur is ridiculous. When they finished their piece of the work they demanded full payment and I told them that I had contracted for the entire job, not just their portion. They pointed to the "small print" of the contract, which did indeed contradict our verbal agreement. They told me that they would sue me if I didn't pay immediately. I paid. I also told the owner that I would express my dissatisfaction on Angie's List, and again, he said he would sue me if I did so. I simply said that it's completely within my rights to tell the truth, which I have done here. I would never, ever work with Atlas again.

Robert's General Masonry Repair

Robert responded quickly to our initial request for an estimate. He was on time, explained what would be done, the process to be used, and the cost. After obtaining multiple estimates and clarifying with Robert what he would do, we hired him for the job. He was very efficient, explaining everything he was doing and double checked his work. He repaired 3 large foundation cracks in the crawl space, an exterior foundation crack on the garage wall, and put a chimney cap on. Robert was very professional, curteous, and conscientious. We would definitely recommend him and hire him again.

This was the second time that we had American Crawlspace and Basement Corporation do a repair on out home. They are the standard that the industry should set itself to. They are interested in a fair price, quality product. It leaves the customer at ease and with complete confidence. You do not have to doubt what you are paying for. We will use them again when we are ready to install French Drains and Drain Tile in the basement. American was punctual, friendly, capable. They cleaned up after themselves, and went out of their way to let me know if ANYTHING did not exceed our needs, that we should we them know immediately so that they could make things right. They were genuine and it was refreshing. Kudos abounding.

This company is family owned that we found on Angie's List. Owner came out on time as scheduled, was very professional and fully explained options and best recommendations. Repairs were done in a timely manner and quality of work was very good. We are very happy with end result. Have had no water leaks since repairs were made. Price was fair and reasonable. Would highly recommend their services to anyone in need of this type of service/repair.

Contact was made with and an appointment was scheduled to have the crack in the house foundation examined and to provide a quote for the repair. This portion of the foundation is actually on a slab. Matthew was very punctual and called to confirm and to see if he could come earlier for our appointment. We agreed on the new time and he showed up as scheduled. After he examined the exterior crack and one on the inside he advised me the 30 year old house was settling due to the drought we've been experiencing. He went on to explain that we should stabilize the house by installing pads and jacks. After asking if I could "budget $15,000 to do the job right" he proceeded to tell me the side of the house needs 14 jacks to stabilize the house. He sounded very convincing and we tentatively agreed on a date to start the work. He was very accommodating scheduling the work on two consecutive Saturdays. He pushed me to sign the work proposal to authorize the work and advised that if I decided not to move forward that all I had to do was to call and tell him and he'd tear up the Accepted Proposal. I did not sign the proposal. Before moving ahead with the work I contacted a structural engineer for their opinion. The engineer came out a few days later and advised me that not only was the house structurally sound and not in any danger but there was no rush to do anything to correct the situation. In fact I could wait "years" before I had to do anything. He advised the issue was almost certainly due to the proximity of a mature tree that's about 6 feet from the house. He advises that due to the drought the tree roots under the slab and because the soil is clay, there is desiccation causing the situation. His recommendation is to remove the tree and not install the shoring. He also advised that providing plenty of water to the tree would likely also stop the situation for several years. Cost for the engineer and if I have the tree removed will be around $2,000. Savings $13,000. Priceless. Get a second opinion before committing!

Recent Review: Very accommodating company. Responded to all my questions and concerns, treated my home with the utmost respect and left it clean. The room was a bedroom carpeted by prior owners. When I removed the carpet, it uncovered a nightmare. The room used to be part of the garage. The previous owners left the oil spills. dirt, and cracks and just covered it with carpet. Soooooo disgusting. Perma seal ground out the cracks, pumped poly foam underneath for support, sealed the cracks, ground them to level them, and it even looks like they tried to clean up the disgusting oil spills left by previous owners. (I'll be doing additional scrubbing). I will wait for spring thaw to assess its waterproofness before I order my new floor. See before and after shots.
