Chicago Baseboard Installation

Other than the punctuality on two of the four days, the work was completed in a professional manner. The carpenter was extremely professional and his work was impeccable, often providing recommendations and helpful input. Hector was great to work with and very professional. He explained the process and always asked if we had a preference on where to start for the day. I would highly recommend their services. (picture is only walls and baseboard)

They did an excellent job. I had three quotes and theirs was the lowest. They were able to come out on short notice, and completed all the work in one day. The workers seemed to really enjoy the work they were doing.

12/3/2021: Glen has been painting at my home & my siblings' homes for years now. I hired him back twice at my home this year and will again in 2022. This time around, he painted three rooms of my house and all (newly installed) moldings, casings & trim. There was a LOT of prep to do to cover the nail holes left by newly installed trimwork & Glen always makes sure the prep work is done well. You can't have a good outcome unless these details are handled. As usual, Glen has good attention to detail and was even able to patch some gaps left by the previous flooring guys. I didn't think anything could be done with those gaps, but he tackled it anyway and the improvement is great. He knows his stuff and I could not be more pleased with the results. What a difference a professional makes when invited to your home!

Everything went very well. I spoke with Matt on the phone to setup the appointment and explained what needed to be done. He recommend a hardware store I never heard of. I followed up on his suggested after not finding anything close to what I needed at the local, more well known hardware/lumber yards; it was the only lumber supplier that could come close to matching the baseboard I needed. Nick was the handyman that came out to do the work. I'm not sure if all the handymen are as honest and helpful as he is or if I just lucked out. He did a great job on a difficult situation, trying to install a straight baseboard on a not so straight, 100 year old plaster wall. In the end it came out looking better than I had hoped. I will definitely use these guys again and will ask for Nick to do the job.

Great. They were able to work around my schedule and do a Saturday install. Was able to squeeze me into their schedule within two days of calling as I was in a rush when multiple people cancelled on me. Quality of work far surpassed my expectations.

Glenn Handley did an excellent job of installing the doors, trim and baseboards. The trim is perfectly matched at joints and doors are perfectly aligned. He is a master carpenter. Glenn takes pride in his work and is easy to work with. He tried to minimize the stress of having the house in disarray and brought in extra men to assure that he completed the job in the timeframe he had quoted.

The quality of the service has always been excellent. The worker is courteous, clean and friendly. I have trusted him in my home when I am not there. We have used My Handy Craftsman Inc since 2012. We keep returning because of the quality level.

Working with Bob and his crew has been a real pleasure - they know their stuff and do great work. They keep us informed, help us troubleshoot problems, and have also been flexible with scheduling. Because my husband and I are doing the grunt work (demolition, priming, painting, staining) and leaving the real stuff to the experts, we have been able to keep the costs down. After four months, we are ready to finish the project, but I can't think of a better group of guys to work with!

I would not recommend this company for any home remodeling. Cornel gave us a proposal for carpentry work that stated the project would be completed in 2.5 days, and we were provided with a not to exceed amount of $1,875 for the job. The proposal also stated that we could pay at the end of each work day, which we did for the first two days at $750 per day. After day 2, Cornel stated that we would have to pay the balance before they could begin work on the third day. We were not willing to provide payment at the beginning of day 3, as this was contrary to what was agreed upon in the executed proposal. We got a bogus excuse that they were concerned we would not pay them them once they finished the job, which had no basis as we had already paid them $1,500 for two days of work. After texts and call to the office, neither Cornel or anyone from his office responded back to us. We have to assume that they did not finish the job because they knew that they underbid the project and were worried about losing money on the job. Instead of acknowledging this and speaking with us about any concerns they may have had, they elected to simply walk off the job and leave us hanging with unfinished baseboard and trim that needed to be installed. This was a very unprofessional experience and very disappointing. Please be very careful and proceed with caution when working with this company. We simply in good faith cannot recommend them to anyone.

The quality of the work from both the carpenters and painters was outstanding. I'm thrilled with the results and would definitely recommend them.

Mark is a great professional who was very punctual on both visits. He was also very honest and tried to reuse existing materials instead of insisting on new or more expensive ones. Our basement flooded so we needed part of it rebuilt to its prior conditions. The end result is exactly what we asked for. We would definitely hire him again!

We needed reparis and painting done on exterior wood trim. Art repaired and replaced window moulding and sills and painted all of the exterior trim. He had a keen eye for detail and still finished the job in a reasonable time. He was punctual and professional. I was very pleased with the final result. Would definitely have him do work for us again.

Mark @ Creative Edge did a FANTASTIC job. He is very careful and skilled - and uses his imagination to get the job done. He was efficient, neat and cleaned up very well. My experience with Scott Van Duzor was pleasant and professional from start to finish. The price did seem a little high; but it was competive with other bids for the same job. With alot of other work going on in our home, scheduling was tight, and Scott was friendly and professional in every encounter. The end result is truly beautiful. The trim that was added is extensive and done to perfection. Every corner is precise and every line is straight. I couldn't be happier with the job that was done or the manner in which it was done.

Walter and his crew did an outstanding job. The crux of the job was installing new crown and baseboard mouldings as well as painting the entirety of the inside of my 2-bedroom condo. The carpentry was smooth and seamless. The painting was done exactly as I specified and the end result was beautiful. When he was finished, my 80+ year-old condo looked brand new. I also asked him to do some handyman work, which was completed efficiently and without problems. Walter was very responsive throughout the process, keeping me informed with status reports and meetings. I would definitely hire him again, if needed, and would certainly recommend him to others for this type of work.
