Very pleased with the Hardie Board siding product and the Siding Group's installation. The siding looks very much like wood. 100% better than the aluminum siding it replaced. We're looking forward to no maintenance! Salesperson was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and often onsite. Installation crew seemed well trained for the removal and installation of siding, as well as removal and reframing of the windows. (I do wish that the Hardie Board product itself included a better trim material, more comparable to the quality of the boards.)

Mariusz, came out the same day that I called to look at the siding I needed done. He gave me an estimate and some advice on the work - his estimate was almost exactly what the final invoice was. His guys came out on the designated day and whipped through the entire job in about 5 hours! They did great work, very thorough and attentive to details. It wasn't an easy job, but the results are siding as close to know as the quality and age of the siding would allow. The best part of the job was the up-front advice Mariusz gave me about how long my old siding would last. Very, very pleased with Holda and will be calling them when I'm ready to replace my siding!

I found this company through the Hardy Board website, since Windy City is a certified installer of this product. I ordered the product, ordered several windows installed, and asked them to put a door out onto a second floor terrace. The salesperson gave me incorrect information regarding the Hardy Board product and kept telling me that the installation would start on such-and-such a day, then when such-and-such a day came and went, told me (when I called him) that there were delivery problems / order problems, etc., etc. and that the project would be delayed. This became a great frustration and I started dealing with only the owner. When the product did arrive, they were not the products that the salesman had promised, so another great frustration. Despite these frustrations, the workers doing the installation and carpentry work were very skilled and quick and did a lovely job. The person who first looked at the gutters quoted me a price contingent upon being able to re-use my old gutters. However, when the gutters were removed, they were damaged, and the owner ended up charging only a nominal fee to install new gutters. I was very upset that the salesman ended up misrepresenting the product sold to me and also delaying beginning the job (to a month or a month and a half after when he said it would be done). The owner did try to make good and the quality of the workmanship also good.

First off, we can all agree that the process of large home improvement projects is about as fun as having a root canal. With that being said, it was so refreshing to deal with such a competent and professional company as Professional Home Improvement Inc. The process was smooth and painless. The description of work to be performed went exactly as planned. When Mal tells you something, he makes good on his word. They removed all of the old cupped and split cedar siding from my home. They patched and reinforced damaged underlay and soffits before installing a layer of insulation board around the entire home. The home was then wrapped in Hardy Board home wrap. Greg's crew are artisans when it comes to installing the fiber cement board. They are highly skilled and have a great passion for attention to details. The fiber cement siding was installed perfectly with resounding results. They were at work every day, working hard, and I love the fact that they cleaned up the work area at the end of each day before leaving for the night. One of the reasons I went with Mal and his team was the fact that his crew are not sub-contractors. They work directly for Mal and it shows. They worked on my home like it was their own and kept me involved and informed every step of the way. You could really see the pride they take in their work . We are totally pleased with the work they did and highly recommend them.

The work was actually done by Nick Guzej, an associate/friend of Hynek. Hynek wrote the proposal and acted as iternmediary initially. Nick has his own firm, GNW Construction, and he installs windows, doors, soffit and gutters. He is quite competent and conscientious.The job was completed by Nick in two days. Really looks good.

Recent Review: Lindholm did a small roof replacement for us about 4 years ago, we called them based on a recommendation from our neighbor across the street, but we also got 3 other estimates. We chose Lindholm because their professionalism, from neatness to paperwork to help in finding just the right shingle along with a competitive price, exceeded everyone else by far. They did a great job in a timely matter, so now that we needed to reroof the rest of the house, there was no question as to whom would be doing the work. A crew of eight arrived here 7am last Friday morning, and by time they left about 7:30pm everything was done! They were neat and clean, the roof looks great! – Kudos to another feather in Lindholm Roofing’s cap for a job well done!!! We highly recommend them for all their capabilities, along with anything roof related, they also do windows and siding. We are building a room addition on our house, and they will be installing Hardie board siding in a month or so.

Recent Review: After doing some of our own remodeling projects I decided to hire someone to install a new sliding glass door to our back yard because we did not have one. Additionally, we wanted to close up an exterior door on the side of the house that almost never gets used due to its location. We got a few estimates and Top Notch was the most competitive and friendly. Michael and Chris were straight forward and were not pushy about any part of the process. They were also pretty easy to contact and responsive via email or phone. Work was done on schedule and completed in the time they estimated it would take (1 day). 3 man crew came out and did a great job. Neighbors have all commented that they did very good job as well. After some debate about the brand of sliding door we went with a local company (Advanced Window) and it is a good choice as far as I can tell. Top Notch provided receipt/info. so I can get my energy tax credit as well as it was a Energy Star certified door. They cleaned up afterwards and did not leave any mess. Will consider for future work.

Workmen showed up on time, completed all the work we asked them to do, and were very personable and nice to deal with. They sent two different tradesmen to handle the different assignments. Recent Review: Artur and his workers completed a large job within one day and completed just before it started to rain! Very pleased with them and would recommend them. Some of the paperwork process left something to be desired which is why I rated "Responsiveness" a "B" but there were other aspects where they were very responsive. I have not had to call them back for anything major but if some defect in their work appears in the future, I would anticipate that they would be very responsive. They did a terrific job cleaning up - quick and thorough!

Recent Review: I received a timely call to set up a time for a quote. The quote was turned around quickly, and was in the middle of those we received. We moved forward with Second City because of their responsiveness and how well the gentleman who did the quote knew his stuff. They let us know ahead of time when they would be out, and worked with us when we discovered we were missing a few pieces of the new siding. The job was done quickly, when they said they would do it, and the quality is good. The business office was easy to deal with and responsive. Recent Review: The work took approximately 4 - 5 weeks to complete. The subcontractor, Best Quality, performed fabulous work and cleaned up every day when the work was done. The job involved converting an interior room to an exterior four season porch. The demolition was performed quickly and efficiently. The ceiling was removed to expose interior beams from the attic and a cedar ceiling was installed above the beams. exterior brick was exposed and siding added to the interior walls. sliding glass doors and porcelain wood floors were installed. Hardwood floors, baseboard and closet doors were installed in the adjoining rooms. finally, a four piece bath was re-tiled with marble wall tile and granite floor tile. All rooms were painted. I am completely satisfied with the work and the pricing, The owner is pleasant to deal with and the subcontractor was comfortably professional. I highly recommend Harmonious Decorating.

Super Service Award Recent Review: The project went very well. Three gentlemen actually performed the work and were willing to work with a special request. I wanted drip edge all the way around and they left an overhang so I could install them after the job. Extra sheeting was required and the crew purchased and installed (at an extra rate which was understood). Cleanup was great and the entire job was completed from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. Love it. P.S. They also added 3 ft replacement sections to the existing rafters when needed. The original facia boards had rotted and the rafters were consequently rotting as well. This was not asked for so it was greatly appreciated.

When I contacted AB Edwards for a quote I spoke to Ralph and he came right out to give me the estimate on the work. He provided colors samples for the siding and trim and asked a lot of questions about the work and our expectations. He emailed the inital estimate with the work broken down so we could see what the individual segments would cost. We worked with Ralph over the following weeks to hammer out the specifics such as the siding & trim colors, window brand & model, and other details. Ralph contacted us when the material was ready and he had a crew available to start. The work crew started either on time (8 am?) or ~ 15 min. early and stayed until ~ 6 pm. They cleaned up at the end of every day and the scrap disappeared almost daily. They worked efficiently and with care to detail. Ralph would come by to check on their progress and to answer any questions we had. I found this company on Angie's List along with ~ three others that I obtained bids from. The price from AB Edwards was not the highest but was above the average. I decided on AB Edwards because I felt that they (Ralph) understood exactly what I was looking for during the estimate process because he asked a lot more questions than the others and I believed the price he gave would be a lot closer to my actual cost than the others. I also went with AB Edwards because they could provide the type and brand of siding and windows that I wanted. All in all it was a very good experience and I would hire them again without hesitation. I have recommended AB Edwards to several people already.
