This was an after-hours emergency call on a Saturday evening. Levon explained the after hours charges, but the rodding couldn't wait. Levon and Bob came out promptly, took care of the problem, and explained what we should do for prevention. Yes, an after-hours call is expensive, but when you need it you need it. As the daughter of a skilled tradesman who was always being called for emergencies on nights, weekends, holidays, etc., I certainly don't hold it against anyone in the trades for establishing some policies so that they can hope for some down-time during their work week.

For the first job, the plumber (Alan) was very courteous, friendly and informative. He explained and fixed the problems I called him out for and did so in a timely manner. They needed to order a part. It arrived in an acceptable time frame and they came back to install it promptly once it came in. I learned that our laundry drain had likely been added by the previous home owner and was probably not vented properly. Tom was able to provide a temporary fix. The next time I called for service, it was on a weekend when our sump pump went out. They advertise emergency 24 hour plumbing service, but after leaving a message early Saturday morning, they did not call back until the next day. They were apologetic about not responding saying they were out of town. This appears to be a small company. We ended up replacing our sump pump ourselves by the time they called back. I would still consider hiring this company to do the laundry drain repair once we are in a position to fix it permanently (when we are ready to remodel the bathroom adjacent to this wall). However, I wouldn't count on them for emergency repairs due to their slow response to my call.

We also live in a very old house and they will be coming out to fix some other plumbing for for us in the future. They have reasonable prices. I would love to keep a good thing to myself so I wouldn't had to share them but I need to let you know how wonderful this company is, Sewer was backing up in our downstairs toilet. THey came out within an hour on Memorial Day weekend !! Tom was wonderful, can't say enough about our experience. Would use them again in an instant. He also gave us some advice to help avoid this problem again and we will definitely go with them. You can't go wrong with them Even the after hours charge was no where near what we thought it would be.

Overcharged for 30 minutes of work and several dollars of material. Felt that the repairman took advantage of us at the time as he came at night over the weekend when we had no alternatives to fixing a leak. the firm advertises that it provides service 24 hours 7 days a week without surcharge for after-hours so there was no good reason for the excessive cost. When we complained to customer service they agreed to a partial refund of approx 200 dollars. while helpful it still ended up being an excessive charge for the actual work completed.

I heard a strange noise in my basement and realized that my sump pump was not working. I unplugged the unit and immediately called Quality Plumbing since I noticed they are available 24/7. The individual on the phone took down my story and took my service call payment of $159.95 over the phone. He indicated that someone would be at my home in 90 minutes maybe less. The guy showed up in about an hour and was done within one hour of his arrival. They were very professional and cleaned up the work area once they were finished. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and professionalism. I would definitely use them again.

Because of the Angie's list coupon, the $35.00 trip charge was discounted.I called at 8:05 am and the workers were there at about 10:15 for an emergency plumbing repair. They had to go get parts, and their trip was VERY quick. They were punctual, clean, and did good work. Barry may not physically be in the office at 8 am, but I guess he starts working on getting his crew at the property right away. I honestly don't know how the price compares to others, but I sense that it is very reasonable.

Recent Review: Water heater started leaking at 11 PM. Called All Temp 24 hour service. Frank told me how to remove the water from the leaking water heater so I would not have a flood. In the morning Ned & Rick set up an appointment for that day, working around my work schedule. Ernie & Solomon replaced my hot water heater & removed my old one. Solomon clearly explained how the new one worked, how to light the pilot light, how to care for it. They cleaned up. They are all professional & easy to work with. I have used them before & referred others to them.

Super Service Award Recent Review: Nick the owner was very conscientious in coming out for the estimate and writing up the contract. When I reviewed it and informed him of some discrepancies, he came back to ensure everything was clear. We agreed on a start date and he assigned Igor to the job. I travel frequently and my daughter works out of her house. So I asked her to come over while the remodeling was in progress. Nick had provided a detailed outline of all the details and I had ordered all the fittings and labelled them for Igor. When the work started, Igor put some tarps in the hallway and all his tools in the bath area. There were some technical issues that Igor worked at and solved nicely. He did a beautiful job matching new tiles to older tiled areas. Everything was installed exactly as planned except one towel bar which he came back and changed promptly. I was not pleased that he was very messy. He cut tiles and sawed drywall / lumber in my garage even after my daughter asked him to move it out to the driveway. He left the work areas very messy every night. When he finished, the bathrooms were free of litter but I had to spend a weekend cleaning my garage. The work was done well except for the mess. Nick helped me to dispose of the old fixtures. I would use Nick again if Igor cleaned up his act.

Recent Review: I called several (5+) companies hoping to get my boiler fixed as soon as the holiday was over. American Vintage Home was the most responsive, and able to get someone out within a couple hours. The repair required new parts and the technician, with the help of the office, was able to get the parts and get the system up and running within 24 hours. The folks at the office and the technician on site were professional and courteous at all times. I will hire them again.

Recent Review: After being connected I explained my problem. The man I spoke to was very knowledgeable. He asked some follow up questions and once realizing I had a heat pump system regretfully informed me he didnt have any technicians trained to service my type of unit. instead of our phone call ending here he proceeded to give me some best guess diagnoses of the problem over the phone and gave me specific next steps on how to best prepare the heat pump for another company to avoid extra charges. I was so appreciative of his assistance and honesty and would not hesitate to use them in the future once they have someone trained on heat pumps.

Recent Review: The work went fine but they only sent one person and the work really need two. When the proposal was submitted, I was told there would be two people. I ended up helping a little. I am not upset about it as the work was done correctly but he should have had a helper because the pieces being removed were very heavy.

Recent Review: On a Saturday, I tried to turn off bathroom sing water source and the handle came off causing a persistent drip to happen. It was enough to cause a concern that it might suddenly get worse. I called three companies and this is the only one to respond. When temperatures dropped to -50 with wind chill, the pipes to our basement bathroom sink froze. And as soon as everything began to thaw, (on Friday night) we found that we had a ruptured hot water pipe. Water was shooting out of the wall all over the bathroom. When it became clear that our usual plumber wasn't going to show up on Saturday, I frantically called half-a-dozen plumbers from Angie's List. Only Charlie got back to me and agreed to show up after his next job. On a day that he was clearly being overwhelmed with calls from all over the city, Charlie kept his word and showed up with his partner Dimitri. They quickly figured out there were no other leaks and repaired the pipe. On top of it, Charlie spotted two other unrelated plumbing issues in our HVAC room. They were minor now but could have turned into bigger problems down the road. His thoroughness and attention to detail allowed him to spot these hidden problems and save us headaches down the road. We had our water working in under an hour (on a Saturday evening!) and he charged a very fair price given the demands upon his time. He left our house at 5pm, his phone blowing up from other customers. I asked if he was going to have an end to the day soon, but he said he still had hours to go...he had promised other worried homeowners that he would help them today. THAT's the kind of dedication I want from my plumber. Call Charlie with confidence.
