I am new to the area and didn't know who to call. Coincidentally, I received a postcard from Specialized Home Services. I spent a good deal of time on the phone with Kevin, discussing the work needed and what the price would be. The price was, frankly, the highest I had ever been quoted for this kind of work. After he explained his services and warranties, I felt a little better and decided to make an appointment. Kevin arrived on time and was polite and courteous. He asked if I was interested in some additional services, but offered no high-pressure sales nonsense. In fact, when he saw the pet stains, he suggested it may be better to skip the cleaning, as he didn't feel I'd be happy with the results and couldn't justify charging me. I appreciated his honesty, but decide to clean it anyway so at least I would know it was clean until I could replace it. He worked on it for about an hour and a half. I was amazed; most of the stains and all the odors were gone! My area rugs see a lot of traffic and were very dirty. Kevin did several tests to make sure the rugs wouldn't be damaged by cleaning (I had never seen anyone do this before). He put plastic sheets under the rugs to protect the floor, and then spent about four and a half hours cleaning, at one point scrubbing on his hands and knees. Again, the difference was remarkable. I decided to go ahead and buy the stain guard in hopes that my rugs would stay clean longer. This came with a free spot cleaning in six months. All in all, I was very happy. Everything dried overnight. I had planned on replacing the carpet soon, and probably the rugs as well, but it looks like I won t have to. Even though I paid a higher price for cleaning than I was used to, it was still far cheaper than replacing everything.
