Analyzed lighting problem in hallway and determined it was the fixtures. I went and got the new fixtures and returned to find that he had already finished the rest of the work and had waited about 15 minutes. He did not charge me for the waiting time tho I would have understood if he had This was a very small job for him but he was happy to do it for me. I thought the electrical problem in the hallway was bigger than it was. He explained everything to me and assured me the electrical is new and still good. He was very knowledgeable about current lighting trends, very fast. I am an Interior Designer and am always looking for good contractors. I KNOW I will call on Clar again. I can't wait to use his services for my future projects.

Scott at Stockwell Electric did 2 jobs for me...at one residence he replaced hard-wired smoke alarms...at the other, he installed a new chandelier in the dining room. He was very prompt in responding to my requests for appt's at both locations and was right on time for the appts. The chandelier installation turned out to be a bigger job because of the age of the house and the intricacies of the chandelier itselt. Scott and David were very attentive to the chandelier details...including recognizing that the chandelier was being installed in a "vintage home" and having extra parts on hand to accomodate the older design. Scott also made sure that wiring was properly grounded (the previous installation was not) and that the chandelier was properly supported in the ceiling. He did an excellent job

Dominic Irpino and his crew at Irpino Construction did a simply fantastic job installing all new lighting in our condo. A few updates were needed when we moved in two months ago, and I made appointments to get quotes from five different companies. I was prepared with a spreadsheet to give to each contractor of the work we required. Most of the contractors took a copy of the spreadsheet, made a few notes, and returned a quote that was not quite accurate. We had a great first meeting with Dominic, wherein he spent a good chunk of time taking his own detailed notes. His quote was accurate to exactly what we had asked for, and he had suggestions for improving upon the ideas we had. The quoted price was better than we expected, which was especially great because Irpino Construction is headquartered just blocks from our condo. We were really glad to be able to keep our business local to our neighborhood. When we elected to move forward, Dominic stopped by with his project manager Jaime to ensure that we met him ahead of renovations starting and that Jaime had a chance to discuss the work with us. Jaime was a great project manager, and he and his crew expertly installed some tricky items for us. Jaime was also very patient with me picking out different can lights when the ones we thought would work turned out to not be manufactured in the temperature and lumens we wanted. His crew even snaked a 50’ cable up the wall, through the ceiling, and down to an outlet for us so we can mount our television without any cables showing. They did a clean and even job plastering, sanding, and priming the wall areas that needed opened up so that they are ready for us to repaint. The work took a total of four days to complete, and everyone was punctual and highly professional. Dominic was very communicative and checked in with us before, during, and after the project. The completed work was high quality and expertly completed. In total, Irpino Construction installed one chandelier, one flushmount, two ceiling fans, four can lights, new switch boxes, and snaked a 50’ cable. We look forward to doing business with Dominic again for future renovations!

The electrician was very efficient and friendly. He came about 15 minutes later then the appointed schedule, but in all honesty our home is somewhat difficult to find. He removed the old chandelier and replaced it with the new one. When it came time to actually install it permanently he called me into the room to ask me exactly how high I wanted it. We tried several heights before I made my final decision. He put all the light bulbs and shades on the fixture and we both admired the finished product and the ambiance of the light it produced. He offered to take the old chandelier outdoors for me but I told him we would handle it. He was there about an hour. It was all very smooth and expedient.

The installation was excellent. They asked for photos, information sheets, etc in order to provide the most accurate quote, which I did. While no additional wiring was required, it was a bit of a fussy install as each of the 27 light strands needed adjusting. They did a solid job for a good price - it wasn't cheap but it seemed reasonable for the work required. There was an issue that they were there longer than anticipated, but my quote was not hourly. They honored my original quote, but I did give them some additional money as I felt they really did need the extra time, and the guys did a super job and were neat and tidy and complete in their work!

Job 1: Charley came to do the work. He estimated 4 hours and was done in 3. It would have been 4 had he not discovered the chandelier package was missing the centerpiece. A new chandelier is on the way and I scheduled a return visit for its installation before Charley left. Installation was smooth for everything else, the lights look great, the dimmers work fine. Charley called in advance and when he arrived he looked everything over and determined all he needed to do was put the lights up as I had everything needed. Job 2: Charlie from Handyman Matters returned to finish a job that ended because the manufacturer of the chandelier failed to pack all the parts. The new box included everything that was needed, and Charlie finished the job in about 1 hour, including the installation of a dimmer switch. The previous chandelier was a Halogen.

Recent Review: I tried to install my smart thermostat without a C-wire. I'd installed it just fine in my previous house but this one was a nightmare. Ended up throwing my hands up in frustration and calling All Temp. The entire service was 5-star. They originally scheduled the call for 1-5pm. Ended up calling to ask if I would be home early if the tech made it. I said sure thing. They called a little later to let me know it was going to end up being around 2pm because the last call got a little hairy. No problem. Tech called me 30 minutes before he showed up, exactly as promised. So, great communication throughout the day letting me know time frames and possible adjustments. No surprises. When Ed Baharopoulos (technician) showed up he was fully masked, no nose hanging out, and super polite. He let me explain the problem I was having (rather than shove me aside and ignore my info), investigated the issue letting me know step by step what he was looking at, fixed the issue letting me know what was wrong and how he was fixing it, pointed out things I could do myself as regular maintenance, etc. The whole issue was poor wiring from the previous owner. Ed never even spoke ill of that, he just pointed out what was wrong and how to fix it...and he ran the C-wire for me. $200 and I was up and running, better educated, and loaded with a list of things I can do myself to prevent more expensive repairs later. I will absolutely call All Temp again, should I need more work done.

Recent Review: Contacted A.W.E. to check and service fifteen year old furnace, as they have done annually for years. Inspection revealed that the unit had reached the end of it's serviceable life. The technician thoroughly explained and showed the parts that would need to be replaced in order to safely get through another heating season. I made the decision to replace it. The A.W.E. representative contacted his office, and I had a detailed quotation for a new Lennox system within 15 minutes, along with a commitment to complete the installation the next day. Installers showed up exactly when promised (actually early). They explained the scope of work in detail, completed all work within the four hour estimated window, provided detailed instructions on operation and maintenance of all components (furnace, thermostat, humidifier), hauled away all excess materials (old unit, old piping, packaging material), and left the house in the same condition as when they arrived. The installers were very thorough and very professional.

Super Service Award Recent Review: I was happy with them, but they messed out on a couple of things. The wiring was old. When they installed the furnace, they did not tell us that the wiring was old until it broke down and they had to come up here and look at it. They were fine installing it. I just wished they would have told us the issue before they installed it. Then, they were supposed to come back and seal something and they haven't done that yet.

Recent Review: The price on this job was pretty steep, but it was a heck of a job. An air handler was installed in the attic with power, refrigerant, and condensate lines fished down to the basement. An insulated trunk was installed in the attic with 2.5" supply lines fished through the walls and ceiling plenums to reach every room in the house -- no closet ducts here! I could swear our installer was magic; the entire job was done with only three holes cut in visible drywall, two of which were less than 6" square and the third only due to a wall that had unfortunate blocking installed mid-high all across the room. All the rest of the work was done through holes cut behind baseboard molding. All the cold air supply vents were well distributed and arranged intelligently to avoid blowing directly on sleeping, sitting, or traffic areas. The humidifier job was comparatively trivial: the humidifier was installed on the ceiling in an out-of-the-way corner of the basement, wired and plumbed for supply and drain, and wired to a nearby circuit. A flexible duct was routed to a centrally located floor grate on the first level. They even spray painted the inside of the ductwork black so there wouldn't be any shine visible through the floor grate. Everything was buttoned up perfectly every night before they left. There was minor dust and disturbance during the day, but come 5pm you wouldn't know we were having anything done. In short, I'd say American Vintage charges a premium price for premium work. We have neighbors that had A/C installed for less, but they all have complaints about how the work was done or how the system turned out. I've never met an American Vintage customer who was less than completely satisfied with the job done.

Recent Review: I cannot recoomend anyone more than Michael and his Top Notch team. I was selling a second home that was vacant and needed a bunch of work but I didn't want to spend a lot of money that I wouldn't get in return so I needed some professional help/advice on how best to spend my money. First and foremost, at the time I reached out to Michael, I was extremely frustrated with the communication of previous vendors. Some never got back to me or took forever to respond, and then if they did respond, the pricing was outrageous. As I was nearing the brink of my mental capacity, I unloaded all of this on Mike and he immediately responded positively and really seemed to understand what I was going through. Let me clarify now, as of this writing, I have never even seen Michael in person. Everything was over the phone or email and that's pretty much the only way I could have done it. He went to the house and assessed the situation. He came back with a detailed list of all the things that he thought needed work, then wrote a smaller list of what he thought we should focus. He asked me my comfort level on how much I can do (i.e instead of him painting the whole house, it would save us money if we did some of it if we were comfortable). It was refreshing to work with a company that obviously wasn't just there to take the money and run. The work was completed on time and above my expectations. The painting is amazing and all the other things he did were just as promised. Definitely worth at least a call with him as he's also a nice guy.

Super Service Award Recent Review: Dan was my point of contact. He was personable and seemed genuinely interested in completing our project. He visited our home within a week of our initial phone conversation and spent almost an hour talking with us about our vision for the project. After the initial estimate exceeded our budget, Dan worked with us to define a scope of work that fell within our budget and would be the most impactful on our home décor. The revised proposal called for Samanco to install 23 LED can lights, move/install three chandeliers, repair a bump out in our master bedroom, repair a damaged drywall ceiling in a bathroom, and install a window in the kitchen. Robert (the lead on the project) and Lukas arrived at 7:30 am each day for a week to complete the project. They were professional, solicited our feedback before beginning the work, and they cleaned up after themselves. We are incredibly pleased with the quality of their craftsmanship, and the new lighting has completely transformed the look of our home. I would rehire Samanco in a heartbeat and intend to have them complete our kitchen renovation. Dan provided excellent customer service and worked hard to ensure that we were satisfied customers. I highly recommend Samanco to anyone in the market for home renovations.

Recent Review: I had a very good experience with this company. To begin with, they were the only one I could find that would sell and install an attic fan after my old one became irreparable. They were courteous, professional, and easy to deal with. They let me know when they would arrive and arrived on time. One of the workers had to climb a ladder to get into the attic via a trap door. Because the attic is totally unfinished and has no floor, he then had to walk on the beams to avoid fallingl through the second-floor ceiling. While in the attic, he worked on the wiring on the side of the attic wall, with no light except his flashlight. He never complained about these challenging conditions. When the job was completed, he even went back up on the ladder and re-hung my ceramic mobile that hangs from a hook inside the trap door.

Tom and his crew at Climate Control Services did a great job finally bringing us up to date with a ductless heating + AC system. They provided a competitive quote and prompt responses to any questions we had. They coordinated and managed an electrical contractor to come in and do the necessary wiring for the new units, and they also recommended we have some minor electrical rework done on our electrical panel, since it wasn't up to code. We've had this ductless system installed for a little over a month now, and couldn't be happier. Our baseboard heaters are off, our house is a consistent temperature throughout as our mid-west winter begins to kick in to full gear, and we can't wait to get our next electric bill now that we can leave our baseboard heaters off.

Dan Mitchell returned my call within 24 hours and promptly set up a time to come out and give and estimate. I was impressed with his knowledge when he came out. He had good ideas of how to install lights in this room which previously was not wired for this. I received his estimate by email soon after. He was able to complete the work in 2 days. He was fairly neat, but the job did generate a lot of plaster dust which he attempted to clean. The end result is very satisfactory.
