NORSKY CONSTRUCTION

All went well. He was able to remove the shower and cap off the water pipes that had been run up through the floor as well as level out the kitchen floor so that the refrigerator coud be put back where the shower was. When Art ran into a problem he called me at work to let me know what was going on. I'm having Art return for another project. Very happy with the work.

STAN THE HANDYMAN
5.0
The work went well. The desk was not completed because it took more time than I wanted to pay for. I eventually bought one that was cheaper than the one I needed put together. The nicest part of time was his willingness to do a couple of small lifting jobs that I couldn't do because of disabilities.

It went very well. The workmen were professional and started stopped work each day according to their schedule. They kept me informed and gave me plenty of time to select the things I needed to provide.

Budget Right Kitchens
5.0
Called right before purchased deal expiration date. This was not an issue; Dirk was very flexible. On time, friendly. Only issue was my request for disability access to sink and stove were minimized. I think this deal was not the right deal for that special request. If I was redoing a kitchen for non-handicapped access, I would have used his plans/drawings. Drawings/plans were provided quickly. They gave a perspective on what we could do. Worth the $45!

Above & Beyond Construction
5.0
Chester and his crew built an addition to our home which included a bedroom and an ada spec bathroom and they were great. I am disabled and he constantly went the extra mile to make sure what they were doing at each step of the project would work for me. Quality work, first class all the way. The best experience I have ever had with a contractor.

Bosco Plastering Inc
5.0
It was a very difficult job for them, they were working in a tight space, and they were having to deal with my severe allergy. I have a disability so I had to test every single product ahead of time to make sure I could handle it; they were patient with that at first and then not patient. We had some tense moments but I would hire them again because they did a very good job. I talked to three plasterers and this company was the only one that really knew what they were doing. Their price was comparable with the others’. They were very punctual and they were always there ahead of time.

Neighborhood Remodelers
5.0
Work was excellent. Very responsive to concerns. Overall job took longer than expected, however. Complaints from neighbors about working noise very early mornings on holidays. Good clean up. The only big problem was the painter painted over all the wall outlets instead of removing the plates and taping the plugs. This caused me much trouble.

Newman Household Repair
5.0
David Newman stayed for two hours and performed a variety of tasks, some of which I could never have done myself, and others I am no longer able to do. A ceiling fan that I thought I might be able to fix myself wound up being a fatally disabled fan that had to come down. He swapped out this fan for one from another room. Lamps were rewired or put together. Ceiling bulbs were replaced. After he left he bought a part to repair another of my lamps and I have a few things I can pick up myself before his next visit. I am working on the next "to do" list. This is someone you can trust. I was lucky to find him and thank Angie's List for bringing him to my attention.

Handy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & Bath
5.0
Our previous handy man that we had used for years passed away. Handymen and Mrs. Helper are far better than I ever expected. They will always be first on my call list next time I have a list of honey-do tasks. If there was a grade higher than "A", Handymen and Mrs. Helper would be deserving of the grade. To say that they are excellent is not enough in my book. Being disabled with a condition that makes it difficult and painful to walk, I need help to complete even the simplest of tasks such as changing smoke detector batteries or burned out lights. What I love about Handymen and Mrs. Helper is that no job is too small, and no job is too large. I can always count on Handymen and Mrs. Helper to be here when I need them! Another thing I like about Handymen and Mrs. Helper is their communication. Faith answers email, phone calls, or messages promptly and with enough information so that I don't have to worry about anything when I use their services.

J-sek Construction
5.0
Tom was fantastic, professional, and honest. Tom is the first person I found who I trusted. I'm disabled and did this kind of work, so it’s hard sometimes to let go and let anyone do the work. Tom did everything I would do, plus more, and taught me a few things. I've had other people do work and never felt this comfortable. You bet he is on speed dial when I have other work in the future. When I get quotes for any work done, usually three, I like to meet the person quoting. You can tell a lot. You have some that send salespersons and don't even ask what you want, measure the room, and charge you by the square foot. I don't even call those guys back. You have the ones that give you a low price, and then you wonder what quality of work or items you are getting. J-Sek was in the middle price range; I met Tom and went over everything, my wants and concerns, and worked together. Plus he was the one doing the work. Best decision I made. J-Sek and Tom won't disappoint you.

BATH RESOURCE INC
5.0
I was very pleased with the work of Bath Resource. I just discovered I had not submitted a report to Angie's List respecting this company.. Our bathroom had to be completely remodeled to make it accessible for a disabled family member. I obtained 2 bids, one from Bath Resource (BR) and the other from a company specializing in accessible remodeling. I decided to contract with BR because it had a store in LaGrange where I could see products we were considering and because BR gave us a fixed price for the job. The other bid by the specialist was a few $1,000 less but included allowances for fixtures rather than set prices. BR did not start its work until it had received all the fixtures. Once started BR worked continually until the project was completed so as to inconvenience us as little as possible. Except for the installation of the new shower by a subcontractor, all the work was done by the owner and one helper. Both the owner and his helper were perfectionists. After completion a small leak was detected in the shower enclosure and BR had the subcontractor respond immediately to correct the problem.

Mark left live wires exposed at the time I had a 3 year old and 5 year old living in the house, he put he handles on the cabinet doors on an angle, he had high school or college son doing a lot of the work he would not show up for weeks, hand cut my countertop, and then brought some people to hand sand it and did cover the vents, dust was everywhere ran out of material I paid for, and put something that I did not ordered, made pay for a painter and destroyed the paint job, and wanted me too pay the painter again, did put the face on draws or handles, did not install my oven, broke expensive light fixtures, put down floor in living room without leveling the floor first, did not finish my fire place, I told I had to wait until someone order the same stone as I had, that is when I stop hearing from them, I am still trying to get my work done that I paid in full for, mostly from my disability lump some check, I have 76 photos of the crappy work or no work at all

Handy Men & Mrs Helper Kitchen & Bath
5.0
Handy Man & Mrs Helper, along with Steve, are probably the best I've EVER seen in the business. They're prompt, professional, courteous, and prices are more than reasonable! We had exterior security cameras installed outside our house. Steve and I collaborated on the ideal places to install the cameras so they're inconspicuous yet capture all the vulnerable areas of the exterior of our home. Steve was extremely meticulous to make sure that all the wires were nicely hidden where they entered the house, and then climbed up into the stuffy attic to feed them to the hub for the cameras. I can now feel safe in my own home with this added security. Besides this work, HMMH and Steve have always been our first and only call when we need work done around the house. To them, nothing is too big, and nothing is too small. My husband and I are disabled so it is very hard for us to do what others would normally consider to be "DIY" work. I have even referred HMMH to several of my neighbors in my subdivision for EXCELLENT handy man work. And what's even better, is HMMH does FAR more than just handy man work.... Landscaping, construction, painting, remodeling, and others. Where else can you make one phone call to catch all your needs. In fact, earlier this Spring I was searching for somebody who could blow up images to a large poster size. HMMH had a source where I was able to get my images resized . . . and the price was more than reasonable . . . And the quilt I was putting the images in turned out to be a winner! Please, if you've found HMMH you need not look any further. Just call them and you'll experience a cheerful and pleasant response. I owe a great deal of gratitude to HMMH for all they've done for us!

J K Complete Remodeling & Construction Inc

This is the third remodeling job Jack has done for me this year. The first one was a complete rebuilding of a small bathroom to meet ADA standards (Americans with Disabilities Act). The second job was to replace a 12-foot; U shaped Formica counter top with a new one and install a new stainless steel sink and faucet. In all three jobs, Jack was wonderful. He answers his phone all the time. He came out fast to give an estimate. He started the work fast, and stayed away when we were seeing customers. He worked around our schedule. And he finishes fast and neat. His price is low. ($900 less than the other quote I got.) He sticks to his price. There are no extra fees even when he hits a problem that needs more work than he estimated. If you need a little trim, or an outlet, or a bit of paint that you didn t ask for, he just does it. No discussions and no charge. The work is high quality. My tenant who needed the ADA bathroom is extremely picky regarding quality. She had a very minor concern after the job was done. (A door rubbed against the carpeting, a little.) Jack came right back, trimmed the door and re hung it. My tenant is so impressed she is hiring Jack to work on her home. A professional who installs tile, came to my office for another job recently. He looked at the obviously new tile and said: Wow! The guy who installed this tile really did a great job. Jack is the best contractor I ve ever found. Period.

They were able to get the job done in a timely manner and was happy with that.
